Dryer Vent Cleaning with the LintEater Duct Cleaning Kit
Просмотров 21 тыс.7 лет назад
Wet clothes in the dryer? Get your clothes dry on time and keep your home and family safe by periodically cleaning the lint from your dryer's vent system. In this video we show you in full detail how to you use the LintEater Duct Cleaning Kit to clean your dryer vent. You can purchase the kit from Lowes like I did or use this link to grab one off Amazon :) LintEater Kit: amzn.to/2fizIu9
If you don't have the drill, you swap the tires left to right, it runs in reverse with forward push. I pushed my up and down the yard for a few laps and it cut like new.
Question how do you retrieve the piece if it came undone in the vent. Hope I can get it before the hubby gets home
Oof, hope you were able to retrieve it. Honestly, best way is going to require a scope with a camera and some really good aim to screw the piece back together. Or... using another system to push the other piece all the way to the exit or entrance.
13:30 Everything one needs to know about this video is at that timestamp. I appreciate that you tried to help people, and while a fair amount of info here is sound...it's not demonstrated well and I see acres and acres of mutilated grass dotted with the rusted bodies of formerly fine reel mowers, violently thrashed in fits of misplaced rage. It's not the mower's fault and I hate to see them suffer. They just needed someone to love them properly, and here we failed them. heheh
how often do you have to sharpen the blades
Holy shit. Get to the point. I want my 15 minutes back.
You're spinning it WAY to fast. Look how much compound is being thrown from the blades.
Great video! I really liked that socket wrench wheel hammer. Does Craftsman sell one of those?
Btw please don't state this is the proper way to sharpen a rotary blade ever again. As I watch it, the more I get pissed off my seeing someone talk about something they know knowing about.
*know nothing about*
Soooo correct. When I started to watch one of the first things he said that told me everything was his little tube of valve something or other... I mean at least make it look like you know what your talking about.
Re-up on the compound?! 🙄🙄🙄🙄😂 Wow
Good try man but be more informed on the adjustments and camera
Tough crowd. Show it cutting grass!
What did you use for the socket on the drill ? Is it a one piece attachment bit? Great video !
Best video to date!!

Wouldn't running the cylinder backwards sharpen the wrong side of the blade?
Its a flat blade. It just needs to be flush with the bar. Still sharpens the same flat side. Its not like a knife blade.
Well it's more like scissor blades than knife blades. Like scissors in that when the front edge of the reel blade comes in contact with the knife bed (the straight bottom plate) it slices. It's the front edge of the blade that is first to hit so by sharpening backwards the front edge is now the last part to hit the knife bed. Which is how you would sharpen it manually. The blades and knife plate have to be sharpened together or it wont cut right. It's not so much how sharp each is as it is how well the fit together. Scissors, unlike a knife, require both blades to work together to make a clean cut.
I've never even done this but I would assume running it backwards is so it doesn't engage the wheel to spin
"You can see how well it cuts this paper" - proceeds to tear and mangle the paper among the blades. dude, it's supposed to cut like a hot knife through butter, not a rusted butter knife through granite.
What size sockets are you using for sharpening/spinning and for tightening loosening the screws?
As he hammers with his socket wrench, I would assume that he uses his hammer as a socket wrench! Brilliant!!
I think its 11/16 using a six sided socket
I Appreciate this video very much as my old manual lawn mower needed this ‘tune up’. A quick addition to this process I learned today was to tighten the blades like you did where they barely would turn. Then spray WD40 on a paper towel or rag and smear it on all the blades and the cutting bar which will allow the blades to rotate easier at the tightest adjustment. 🙌✌️🤩thx, All my best!
Hmmm.... Cool. The reason to take off the wheels is to remove the gear. Is it possible to place one wheel back on to use it to spin the blades manually? I don't like using the drill to do that.
@@WilliamJones-sf5pt I just sharpened my american mower, i swapped the gears and pushed the mower backwards on my driveway, swapped them back - worked like a charm!
@@joshmonroe986 Thanks!
Great vid man, informative
Cool vid! We made one as well. Keep up the good work.
Wrong venting , not meant for dryer.
No explanation of how the valve compound sharpens the blades. Before and after cutting quality would have been convincing.
Thank you, you're right and i will consider that in future videos. To answer though, valve lapping compound is abrasive enough (like metal polish) to put a new edge on the blade. Due to the length of the blade and odd shape attempting to sharpen with anything else than using the mower's own cutter bar will result in uneven sharpening and gaps between the blade and cutter bar which will result in uncut grass blades.
He did explain at the beginning. Maybe listen 👂
He also stated was a storm.... I feel for your wife lol.

thanks for the video...only have one bit of advice/complaint: vertical video like you used here is worthless and aggravating. vertical is only for still photos. video is meant to be shot horizontal never vertical.
Great video love that porn music lol 😂
I have cleaned many dryer vents since 2017 and I have removed many other contaminants other than lint. Shirts, socks, sand, small stones, small chunks of concrete, broken glass, bird nests, dead rats, snails, lizards, fruit (that rats have carried inside the vent), hard candy, coins, a paper instruction manual that was very dried out and brown. The most lint I have ever removed was from a vent 23 feet long and was about 8 gallons worth (almost two 5 gallon Home Depot buckets). Most people don't do this overlooked maintenance until they have a problem. Either it takes 2 hours to dry their clothes or they have a burning smell.
Can't hear you at all
Between the rod joints put duck tape or electrical tape to avoid unthreading rods getting lost in your dryer pipeline
Being a woman, I don't know the names of these parts. Could you please send me a parts list. Thanks!
Hi Sandi, this is made with “black pipe”. Typically used for gas like propane in houses. It can be purchased at any hardware store in an isle near the plumbing section or online. :) have fun designing and building your own!
Nice demo. Thanks.
Please turn your phone horizontally (landscape mode) while recording videos so you can see the full real estate while playing back. As it is it's too narrow of the video to watch.
I just bought a Lint Eater. Seems to be a pretty good system. Neighbors are now asking me to clean their dryer vents.
Hah, they should put a disclaimer on the box "cleaning dryer vents will become a part time job". Thanks for watching/commenting!

@@HighSierraBob I was thinking about doing this for a side hustle. How much can your get an replaceable duct for? And how long does it take you to do this dryer vent cleaning?
I live in So Cal and I charge $140.00 to do the cleaning. I clean the dryer lint trap, tailpipe and the main duct. I also vacuum the floor and walls surrounding the dryer so there is no flammable lint around the machines. Any lint around the machines will ignite before the walls do, so it has to be removed. Typical job takes me around 2 hours. BE SURE to use a battery operated drill and turn the clutch down to the lowest setting or you can break a rod inside the duct, and you DON'T want to do that! The replaceable transition duct should be UL approved and I get mine from In-O-Vate Products in Florida. They sell a brand called Dryer Flex and is the best on the market (Google them). I shy away from the Home Depot stuff, especially the foil flex ones that will easily burn. Hope that helps.
@@HighSierraBob Thank you i'll check them out.
