BRITISH BIRD FEEDERS; a Liam Dale Special
I've always enjoyed feeding birds in my garden, and when asked if I would like to film them "up close and personal" AND get paid for it.. it was an epic struggle to accept the contract.. ;-)
But.. I sacrificed all.. and worked this project quietly over a year and all four seasons, battling squirells and the elements..
Live crickets were my personal limit but when you work a large variety of feeders and foods.. you get the largest variety of species visiting.
Probably the most pleasing were the woodpeckers.. returning in the spring with youngsters, and clearly showing them where the best titbits were.
Hope you enjoy the visit to my feeders!
Slanche.. Liam Dale

The Irish Prayers - St Patrick Boys (Locations filmed by Liam Dale)

This one is a little unusual. I shot all the footages except the musicians and the video was produced in Germany. 20 years later I bought the rights and got it back. This film's credits went down in my personal history because of the credit "Irish Shootings by Liam Dale". In fairness, my family played a major part in early Sinn Féin history, but as to these charges.. I plead not guilty ya honor...

June 6, 1944 - D-Day - the beginning of the end of WW2. Code-named “Operation Overlord” the Normandy Invasion took the German Army by surprise, as Allied soldiers stormed the beaches of “Utah”, “Omaha”, “Gold”, “Juno” and “Sword”. The weather was appalling, but by bravely taking the initiative the Allies were able to liberate France and march towards Berlin and victory.
BADGER WATCHING IN BRITAIN - (A Liam Dale YouTube special.)

And this is where my documentary making career started.. the taming of a true wild badger sett. the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England. I shot ALL this content, inc "my" birds. The early days of production where it was just two of us, covering all the work hands on. Such a joy getting the badgers to trust us, my only regret was not withdrawing the bread offerings before filming cos they l...

There's barely a mention of "A Christmas Carol" here, which has been the focus of my independent research. I have concluded that Dickens plagiarized that work from an American couple named Mathew and Abby Whittier. However, based on my research into Dickens' life overall, I would say this is the myth of Dickens, rather than the true story. One thing I can prove is wrong, is the characterization that Charles and Catherine were ill-matched, and that she fell into an increasingly deep depression as Charles became successful. She got old and fat, Dickens was a sociopathic personality who mistreated her and bullied her, and he put her aside for an 18-year-old actress. He pretended his separation from Catherine was due to incompatibility, and even extorted Catherine's mother and sister into signing a statement to that effect (or else he would withhold financial support from Catherine).

So.. guess you're not a fan of CD then.. One's research can always be as suits the self.. ;-) However, the 98 Harvard Uni letters are interesting..

@@liamdaletv I tried my best to shoot down my own conclusions before I adopted them. I did not research to "suit myself," but rather in pursuit of the truth. No, I don't like him--based on my master's-level training in counseling, I think Dickens was a sociopathic personality. I think most of what people like about Dickens was a show, based heavily on having plagiarized other people's work.

I started riding in the late 1980’s in the US. I have never owned a bike on which I could turn off the headlamp. It surprises me that when this was filmed even most of the more modern bikes had their headlamps off. I find it particularly surprising when I consider that the UK today seems to impose stricter safety requirements than does the US. Loved the video. So many great old machines.

Liked and Subscribed ! I was an Apprentice at Westland Helicopters from 1973 to completion in 1977 . Then emigrated to Canada . I’m now 66 years , retired and working through 35 years of collecting bikes and parts . Brit bikes are a bit scarce in these parts . The occasional one turns up needing help . Great to see the huge variety of machines in this video . I didn’t recognize anyone though ! Best part of living in Somerset was the people who influenced me . From bicycles to road bikes it was always kind people that helped me through with advice and parts . £ 7.00 pounds a week didn’t get you much living in ‘ digs . Big shout out those that did ,far too many to list . Happy times with Mike Hann , who I’ve never forgot . He let me use his ‘Cub at a Yeovale scramble on Marshall duty , I also rode the Mickmar Special . Great guy ! Places of other interest were Jim Patch Yamaha and Michael Martins shop around the corner . Badger Goss’s downtown , a long push bike ride to EA Taylor’s shop in Misterton . Also a smaller shop in Bower Hinton Jim Horwoods I believe . All took the time to listen and advise , encourage and just be great to be around . My ‘ Mentor was Reg White a great guy , Westland craftsman and got me into Trials , found me a 1965 model 10 ‘Taco . 31st production Sherpa T . ( John Lawley thank you ! ) I still have the original sales brochures with Millers 4 digit Highcliff . phone number written by the man himself . Happy times mostly . Taking off the ‘ Rose tinted ‘ glasses now , and back to work on the 74 850 HiRider ! Someone has to do it .👍🇨🇦
