Best time to enjoy this is at lunch about 4 hours before Iftar. Then you have wonderful meal and for entertainment you can laugh at starving idiots outside. Best served with wine or beer. 😂🤣😂🤣😂

These things should be done in private. The Qur'an, makes this point in 2:264, which reads in English as follows: “O you who believe! Do not render vain your charity by reminders of your generosity or by injury, like him who spends his wealth to be seen of men and he does not believe in Allah nor in the last Day.”

I've made this a couple of times now and it just keeps getting better. I definitely like mine very sweet and spicy so I add a fair bit more sugar and chilli. The lentils are delicious but I have to wash them very thoroughly or they wreck havoc on my gut. I usually stir them in water for a minute, then rinse, repeat this once or twice and then soak them overnight and rinse again.
