I'm Jason, a landlocked photographer and videographer hoping to live in Whitby, UK! In the meantime, please follow my very regular visits to Whitby, and nearby beautiful towns and fishing villages. Occasionally I slip and get deep and bare just a little bit of my soul.
The sights and sounds of Robin Hood's Bay
Welcome to the sights and sounds of Robin Hood's Bay - a gorgeous little seaside village on England's North Yorkshire coast (near Whitby).
It was the peak of summer, and the weather was beautiful, so it was as busy as I have ever seen it.
I was impressed by the dancing and singing of the Lord Conyers Morris Men - it's for traditions like this that people flock to Britain for a vacation.
I hope you enjoy this little dedication to the delightful sights and sounds of this gem of a seaside destination.

The UK saw it's first National Fishing Remembrance service held at various coastal locations across the UK. This on in Whitby was one of them. Held on Sunday 12th May at 11am. I missed an adder by about 10 minutes! A lady came running away. I went running towards… however, it had slithered away 😢

Whitby Goth Weekend was the events (bands, clubs and markets) run by Top Mum from the Spa 1995-2018. This is people in costume who probably have no idea what Goth actually is. They are effectively Cosplayers. Goth is a subculture not a costume you put on for one weekend in the year. Unless you do Goth as a lifestyle (outside Whitby) your not a Goth. This is not Gate Keeping but simple fact. One could MAYBE argue it's an 'Alternative' weekend but given some of the music you hear, I doubt that.

How much do.they charge on the yellowbus tour of Witby.
Hi Ann, it costs £8 but the ticket lasts all day and you can hop on and off as you wish all day. It's a great way of seeing the place and getting about.

@@MrWhitby yep, went all, the way down there. One small shop with ' Crab sandwiches for sale £11.99 ' . Asked if we could get fresh fish and was told " not here my handsom, all landed at Newlyn ". Went back to Tescos at Helston to get some.

Friends Paige Richardson and Annette Kinnear, both 36, were last seen during a storm walking down to the beach in the picturesque village of Robin Hood's Bay, near Whitby, North Yorkshire, shortly after 1.30am on Saturday. The pair, who came from Otley, West Yorkshire, had told friends they were going to let off some fireworks.
May they rest in peace, how awful for them and their loved ones.
One of my relatives used to live in the first cottage over the slipway next to the shop and opposite the Bay hotel.
What an absolute beautiful spot to have lived!

That is the most dangerous place to stand. You could easily lose your footing and be swept out to sea. It could take the Whitby lifeboat a minumum of ten minutes to get to you, by which time you could easily be drowned.
It’s not great, and the waves were so variable, sometimes low sometimes extreme.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, and as long as people remain safe, a real spectacle!
