    • @livingforalivingRV
      @livingforalivingRV 12 дней назад

      Not at today's beef prices! Its $7ish/lb for cheap meat or cheap sliced meat where I go... its a no-brainer to buy it sliced when its the same price. I do get un-sliced when the price is right. Do some math on store bought jerky - its about $30/lb and its full of stuff you shouldn't be eating.

    • @carvedwood1953
      @carvedwood1953 12 дней назад

      @@livingforalivingRV im well aware that store bought jerky costs money. I was saying that because you said sliced meat was less work, and so is premade jerky. But hey if you live somewhere that sliced meat costs the same as non sliced meat that is a good call and also not like any place I have ever been in my entire life. They must not have to pay butchers. Everywhere I have ever been the more the meat is processed the more you pay. I typically make a batch of jerky when i break down bigger cuts of meat. even if I wasn't buying an entire chuck roll, buying stir fry meat is always still more expensive than buying a roast of the same cut and slicing it yourself.

      @carvedwood1953 12 дней назад

      @@livingforalivingRV if you are really watching I would highly suggest buying an entire chuck roll from sams club or costco and breaking it down yourself. Lots of great cuts in there from steaks to roasts to great jerky meat. 6 dollars a pound. you can get other subprimal cuts at good prices as well and just cut them up how you will use them.

      @@carvedwood1953 I used to raise cattle in a previous journey... Nothing beats getting primals and packing them up... but its hard to do in an RV.
