Brain is working tonight, saw Mr. Glass play this soundtrack live at the Cleveland museum of art like long ago. This was uo for an academy award but Flash Dance won that year. After that I was "giving the academy a rain check.....never going to leave this town" Cleveland that is.

I knew this was the greatest film I’d ever seen when sat there watching in in 1983…and my view hasn’t changed.

By any chance has someone done a video comparing depressing locations shown in this film to what they look like now, it would be really interesting to see the change that might have occurred in the past 40 years....

I saw this and "Powaqaatsi" with Phillip Glass conducting the live small orchestra (whose name escapes me and I refuse to googolplex it, I'll remember in 5 minutes after I finish my comment) at UC Berkeley, before they turned into a bunch of total TikTok woke libtards, in 1993. For this film we were way off in the left side of the theatre, unfortunately, but for "Powaqaatsi" we were in the very front, so close I could've stolen the whistle you hear in the start of the film. It was absolutely the most exciting live performance of my life, even beating out the Rolling Stones Voodoo Lounge and Michael Tilson Thomas rehearsing the SF Symphony doing "Petrouchka". THAT was awesome. (the orchestra Glass uses was ...no, wait, that's not right....) I also did a report on Godfrey Reggio in college but being I had to use the catalog books back then the material was slim, mostly reviews. Those were the days. No cheating. You had to look up everything yourself in person, or write to people. Kids today would faint just thinking about doing it....

Men love to build things and then blow them up. These projects were terrible ideas.
