After a busy and successful Summer Reading Program, the La Vista Public Library is excited to offer a wide range of fall programming for all ages. Watch and learn about some of our upcoming programs.

There's an impressive new turf field at City Park. This summer, the Papillion-La Vista School District upgraded the field where the Monarch softball team plays.

Run or walk the trails in Central Park during the second annual 2K Fun Run on Saturday, September 14. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded. More information and registration is available at CityofLaVista.org/LaVistaLoop.

La Vista's Punt, Pass & Kick football skills competition returns to the La Vista Sports Complex on Saturday, August 24. This free football skills competition for girls and boys ages 6-15 is always such a blast! Learn more at CityofLaVista.org/PPK.

Two La Vista Police Officers and one from Papillion were awarded LVPD's Lifesaving Award for actions they took to save the life of a man with a gunshot wound. Congratulations, Officers Coleman, Mavencamp and Gress!

Last week teens from La Vista gathered at the @LaVistaPolice Department for the annual Youth Police Academy. This free, three-day event included experiences in various aspects of law enforcement and firefighting as well as team building and problem solving. The academy is open to middle school students from La Vista, so watch for more information in the future about YPA 2025!

National Night Out will return to Central Park on Tuesday, August 6, 6-9 p.m. The La Vista Police Department, in partnership with the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office invites you to the free, safety-focused event. There will be activities for all ages to enjoy, community booths and free treats from Kona Ice and Starbucks. The event will conclude with a community safety walk around the pond.

The tennis and pickleball courts in Central Park East were resurfaced this summer. They're ready for La Vista's residents to enjoy!

Did you know July is Parks and Recreation month? Watch the video and get to know Gary the robot. He's a valuable member of the Parks Department. Gary is equipped with GPS technology and can be programmed to paint lines on La Vista's sports fields in less time and with less paint than it takes to manually paint the lines.
