Then Jibril (Angel Gabriel) loves him, after that Jibril announces to the inhabitants of the heavens that Allah loves so-and-so; so love him; and the inhabitants of the heavens (the angels) also love him and then make people on earth love him. And when Allah hates a slave, He calls Jibril (Angel Gabriel) and says: 'I hate so-and-so, so hate him.' Then Jibril also hates him. Jibril (Angel Gabriel) then announces amongst the inhabitants of the heavens: 'Verily, Allah hates so-and-so, so you also hate him.' Thus they also start to hate him. Then he becomes the object of hatred on the earth also." (Riyad us saliheen) Volume 1, Hadith number 387 and it's recorded in [Al-bukhari and Muslim]

And whoever says it in the night whilst he has firm conviction in it, and then he dies before the onset of the morning then he will be from the people of al-Jannah (Paradise)."
