@RobDunbar-qo4le Agreed! The real REO is up their last good album Live: You Get What You Play For(first live album). After that, they sold out. For an introduction to the band, I recommend this live album and A Decade Of Rock And Roll 1970 To 1980, but I only recommend listening to their first 3 sides not their 4th one as that is when the band went commercial.
I love how Gary is so in sync with Mike Murphy through this performance - watching him. Gary was / is pure joy to watch and listen to. So thankful we have so many live performances as well as the recorded ones to remember him by. He really played from his heart and took us all on that musical journey with him each song.
Have you ever realised peace with every breath Come to think of it a busy street bazzar where when by and by have you ever Give Thanks Loving the observation What a real lfe telling Have you ever
one of my favorite songs from my favorite REO album...I wish Mike Murphy would have stayed with them.. how cute is Gary's smile at :36 ❤❤❤ RIP Gary ❤ so loved and missed
Thrilled this showed up in my feed. So many comments on so under rated when in fact goes to show you they are not under rated. Think about it! I have this cassette by the way. Will be playing it again this week end.
Ahhhh - Gary Richrath. He was the main reason I saw REO so much in the 1970's and early 1980's. I was pretty much fixated on him as he played. His joy was palpable. He was pretty good to look at, too! Broke my heart when he was forced out of the band. He was pretty much responsible for bringing in the guy behind it, too.
I loved his voice so much better than his follow on. Unpopular opinion in sure but the lions through a rainstorm can't be matched.
When I saw them in 75 they blew Aerosmith off the stage no bubblegum nonsense just suck the air out of the room RR
Love me some gary
This is the real REO to me.

😊 this was my first free concert out doors. They ROCKED the grounds it was the best in vegas in the early 70s.
I would love to see a whole concert with this lineup
Back before 'that other' singer...worked better for me :O)
When REO were rockers, before the Cronin ballad neutering shit.
Full immersion.
Audience directory.
I saw this lineup of REO in 1973. It is interesting that John Cougar released this song much later.
They were much better with Mike Murphy. I still have this album.

Definitely the best version of this song

Gary was the king of the Les Paul. Better than Page. Better than Les Paul himself

The Real REO🎸!
1st persons comming into contact Way back then
Gary has always been one of my guitar heroes. He was awesome. Thanks Gary, RIP Brother.
So much better than Cronin
LOVE his voice!!
Saw them in SanAntonio opening act for the Doobie Brothers around 1973
🎸💯🎧🎶🎶
that's awesome...
Terry Reid song-Love REO but TR nailed
Esta es la versión se REO que más me gusta, en especial el vocalista. ¡ Que lástima que duró tan poco.
Mike Murphy such a great singer and so underrated. This Version of the song is the best. I remember hearing this song on KShe-95.
I respectfully disagree with Mike doing this better than Kevin
You’re from St Louis area. Great radio station!
This reminds of the XENIA Tornado of 1974
@@rickmoore745 Kronin must have thought Murphy was better since he's banned all airplay of the studio version of "Ridin".
@rickmoore745 I don't. Kevin ain't made for this song.
Me gusta mucho como canta Murphy. Me gusta mucho esta alineación de REO.
Best version........
Woahhhhhhhhhhhhh. With Mike Murphy??!?!?!?!
This is the REO lineup I love. Never get tired of listening to them. Nothing in todays music can hold a candle to these guys.
Kevin is reo
I need that belt.
Always loved this song. Too bad this video cuts off before the end.

Love this!!
I saw that John Mellencamp covered this song too.
Fantastic slice of Westcoast AOR. A magic period in time. Thanks for the upload
The guitar genius of Gary. Phenomenal👍🎸🇺🇸👍
Oooh GARY#!young baby.😏👀
Murphy was good, but I preferred Terry Luttrell before him. Kevin Cronin a distant third.
as a bassist that bassline is bad azz.
Thank You 💓 for sharing
This song is 10 times better when Kevin Cronin sings it. This guy's voice is hard to listen to.
I agree 💯. This is one of those bands I've never heard of until they changed out their lead singer.
Thank God Kevin came along!
they NEVER needed kevin....this was just fine
this singer went on to in starcastle i belive
