Tier 2 at Paul Bunyan 1st Place PCC High Veteran 2nd Overall Overall a great tuneup match and chance to use my offset optics a bit. I had 2 mechanical issues that cost me roughly 12 seconds of time. Paul Bunyan August IDPA match Carry Optics - Expert Pistol: NEW Masterpiece Arms DS9 Hybrid with ported barrel I cannot believe how flat and smooth this pistol shoots. I did have a number of hammer follow malfunctions. But I'm attributing that to still needing to break in the pistol. First time running the Masterpiece Arms DS9 Hybrid.. what better way than at a match? First impressions: -Smooth, crisp trigger set at 2.5lbs is glorious -had a few hammer follow malfunctions. Either due to a break in period OR the sear spring OR the trigger travel. I adjust the spring a tad and the trigger. -Shoots extremely flat. Even with the non ported barrel (I have both). NW01 USPSA at Paul Bunyan - My First Match in Carry Optics

Tuesday night match at Paul Bunyan. My first time running a Carry Optics setup (because I was tired of reloading every 2 seconds in Production). I think I came out in 10th for CO and 17th Overall. Much better placing than I was doing in Production, I think the dot suits me and I'm looking forward to getting my Limited Optics build completed. Continuing the never ending road to pistol mastery, I...

Western IDPA Regional Sacramento Valley Shooting Center Cinco De Mayo Weekend 1st in SSP, 3rd Pistol Overall What a weekend! In all the years I've shot IDPA this was my first Tier 4 match. Renton April IDPA match. 1st SSP 8th overall I'm glad this wasn't the regional and hopefully I got all my errors out of the way! I dropped 36 POINTS and mostly on the first 2 stages.. started off strong... and forgot to shoot a target on stage 1 plus hit the no shoot on 2. Slipped up a few times but just said let's go fast on the rest. It was a painful learning day. On to the next!

2023 Outland Empire Level 2 USPSA Match Production-U 2nd Place This is my second time ever competing in USPSA and it was a LONG, rainy, cold day. 15 Kill Solo v Quads Clutch Up - Warzone
Interesting, I should had really taken advantage of downloading my mags in PCC at RMR. A lot of my loss time was due to me trying to figure out where the hell to do a reload with 15 round sticks causing some not so optimize reloading situations. But great shooting man! I'll see you at nationals.
Appreciate it! Yeah I didn't realize I could do it either until the day prior. It certainly helped stay aggressive. Seeya there!
Nice presentation. Congrats.
Thank you!
The voice over is brilliant. A lot of ohhhh’s in it for me. Great job again and thanks for the video.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it
Good format my friend! Well done!!! Bringing home all the trophies!!!
Thank you! I know haha the carry on bag was snug
Awesome match! Congratulations on the win! Out of curiosity, what was the almost dq about? It wasn’t about the 180 - something about the stage props?
It was a misunderstanding of the rules/ stage description. The SD stated the 2nd steel could only be shot from other fault lines and not the one I was on. The rules just say no closer than 10 yards. It was an easy fix after the MD swung by. My brain did pop a fuse when I heard "STOP, that's a DQ!" though 😂
@@Broke_Ballast hah! Wouldn't have guessed that :D. And yeah -- hearing STOP on a stage is always a heart attack LOL. Great shooting and congrats again!
@ThePedalorian yeah I had a mini heart attack.. but my squad had my back and I took a few seconds to reset mentally lol
@@Broke_Ballast Yeah -- a good squad is worth their weight in gold!!
My man!!! Congrats! You’re on a tear! Jacob sure put up an incredible match!!!
Thanks bro! Yeah he did. He earned it for sure. Wish I didn't have my 2 errors 😂 tier 4 next weekend!

Dang man!!! Came away with stacks of trophies!!! The PCC color kills me😂😂😂
It's the "Killa Crayola" lol long story short the guys that did it surprised me with the theme.
Heck of an awesome surprise
Yo!!! Nice work my man!!!
Thanks man! It was redemption
Bad ass ❤
Nice Shooting! Do you think your left thumb of your supporting hand is inducing the malfunction / failure to feed? Perhaps a gas pedal could help you with that. How do you like the DS9 so far? I’m in the fence of buying one.
I love the DS9. At the price point the build, customer service and quality is top notch. I sold my staccato P because I wasn't going to touch it over this. It wasn't my thumb. It was a sear/ sear spring issue they quickly addressed and fixed.
@@Broke_Ballast I’m glad they fixed it. Would you rather have this DS9 vs Staccato XL? I’m not sure if you have tried the XL or not.
@Gabierama I have shot the XL. For what purpose? For Limited Optics I moved to the Atlas Artemis. I think it's the ultimate LO gun. And I'd take the DS9 over the XL any day. It's faster IMO and shoots really well
@@Broke_Ballast Artemis seems like a great option. I thought about buying a Titan because is like $1,500 cheaper than Artemis 😂. But then I was looking at the DS9 LOC model and it also looks good. I’m sure Atlas will be a better option. Between the DS9 LOC and Titan is like $1,400 difference in price. So I’m still trying to decide 😂
@Gabierama if atlas is in your budget. Go with an Artemis you won't regret it.
Nice man. Keep it up
I appreciate it! Will do
Very nice!
Thanks!
Good job and congrats.
Thank you!
@@Broke_Ballast You're welcome. You may see my name on the list somewhere.
Congratulations. I was there too. No where nearly as good as you though
Thank you! What did you think of the match? And hey, you were there competing and that's what matters! We're all trying to be a little better each time.
@@Broke_Ballast man it was a fun match minus the bit of rain on Saturday morning.
@@Maddaxes it really was! That rain built character 😅
we are starting this activity with some friends and a discussion always arises regarding how many magazines a shooter from the SSP division can carry with him, as I understand it in the 2023 updated manual it says that the shooter can start the stage with 1 magazine inserted in the firearm and 2 additional in the pocket or magazine holder. Other colleagues indicate that since the capacity was changed to 15 rounds in SSP you can only have a total of 2 maximum magazine per shooter. Could you confirm if there are 2 or 3 magazines maximum for SSP? Thank you so much!
Hey sorry I missed this! It is 3 total mags. 2 on belt 1 in the gun. Whoever says 1 is incorrect.
looks like no plan for mag change.... Production need really well plan as limited ammo count.😀
Oh I planned mag changes. I just forgot once the buzzer went lol I'm an IDPA shooter. So I'm used to 15 rounds too for SSP. 10 is for the birds
@@Broke_Ballast yep, IDPA is totally different strategy....
Congrats my first MATCH I damn near finished last lol . Now I'm middle of the pack .
Thanks!! I was happy for sure. To be fair I've shot IDPA for years and have a good amount of competing experience. I just took 3 years off and got back to pistol sports recently. What do you shoot?
@@Broke_Ballast .. I mainly Shoot 2Gun , Steel Challenge and USPSA C.O.. I've been shooting 2Gun for couple years . We started shooting Steel Challenge about a year ago and started doing USPSA CO about 7 or 8 months ago . I live right outside the DMV area and we are super fortunate to have 4 or 5 places that do 2Gun , USPSA and Steel CHALLENGE matches monthly . 2Gun is by far the most popular Comps in my area . March 25th at PNTC we have SIG SUPER STEEL Match , April 8th USPSA C.O. Match and then April 22nd PNTC Outlaw 2Gun Match . I post some of the matches on my YT channel. I went from Unclassified to C and I havent checked in a while but I might be at B class . We do not shoot Sanctioned type matches . We mainly shoot local matches . Maybe towards the end of the year we will see how we do at an actual Sanctioned match . I run P320 X5 Legion with 507C-X2-ACSS for Pistol and Carbine I run BCM Build with BA 223W 14.5 Premium Black Series Barrel . In 2Gun we only shoot out to 500Y so 14.5 works for me . Shooting is my only hobbie lol. We cast are own 9mm 130g Bullets and then powder coat them . We have endless amount of 9mm bullets and brass . That's how I can shoot so much . My RL550 gets used a lot lol
@@seanwhite304 I was just going to say, that's a lot of ammo! I actually started really competing in pistol/ 3-gun etc in the DMV area! Small world. I was in Annapolis at AAFG mostly and traveled the area to multi-gun matches, steel challenge and IDPA. I was a Glock guy for a long time for IDPA. Made the switch to Sig recently with the Wilson Combat P320. It's awesome. I have an X5 legion ready for me with a Romeo1 Pro when I decide to go to the dark side of CO. I'll be shooting 4 championships this year for IDPA in SSP though (irons) making a run for World's. So we'll see how that goes.
@@Broke_Ballast That's awesome . We shoot 2Gun at TCSC ( Thurmont Md ) a lot . TCSC puts on some awesome matches . PNTC Sig Super Steel has some spots left . Its 5 stages with 30 to 40 pieces of steel to knock down in 60 seconds . If you are still in the area I'm in Harpers Ferry WV
@@seanwhite304 I wish! I'm in the Pacific Northwest now (Washington State). I'd love to shoot the Sig match. Good luck!
congrats on the win! not easy for a first match
Thank you! To be fair, I was far down in the overall with 85% of the shooters being in CO, PCC or Open lol but I had a blast. I was fighting my IDPA brain on every stage. But great trigger time and practice.
With a French Rib !!!👍👍👍
French company, but I believe all Zodiac Hurricanes are made in Canada! I was through their plant decades ago and it was impressive even then!
I assume that pause part way down the ramp was the get the motors into the water and started.

I agree!
Agreed!
Maybe if you actually bent your knees lol
Can you make a vid on how you made it?
@MsBowhunter95 It's a Leupold VX-R 1.5-4x setup
@troublegetsshot A buddy of mine takes credit for this... Search for Wagnasty87 and he posts vids on how to do it. He also had the cajones to take a dremel to the magwell itself and modify it to fit unmodified mags (he has two SCARs)
How did you get that to work?!?
@sthalman this was a one time drill at my girlfriend's place to show some people asking for the video. Typically I have a training barrel instead... Thanks for the safety heads up though
I know you check, then double check, then when you're sure that your chamber is empty and there is no ammo in the room you check again, but I'm pretty sure your neighbors would appreciate it if you didn't do you're dry practice at a window having their house. Accidents happen, and a basement would be a better place to practice.
did he jus fart xD
