Clark International Speedway Guide Lap with a GR Yaris
Here is a guide lap that I did during a TGR trackday with the Yaris. It's such a fun pocket rocket!

This was my first time racing in Malaysia and it just had to be this close! It was one of the most fun races I've done and I'm glad I was able to battle it out for 5 laps straight. How I Overtake at Clark International Speedway - Onboard Vios Cup Philippines
Looks good! What type of engine allows you to straight “floor” it? I could not do that in my high powered and high torque V8, without wheel spin in 1st thru 3rd (and in a corner in 4th) gear. Thanks for posting.
that just means you have too much horsepower or not enough grip. his engine sounds like some jdm type engine
@@acethemain7776ain’t no such thing as too much horse power!
Go idol
That sounds like a Vitec
Heel toe
Thought the point of rev matching was to not need to drag the clutch like youre doing in the video
Oh, so you're still braking as you blip the throttle.
I just discovered reason 597 i will never be a great racecar driver
Rusty... overacting pedal work...😂😂😂 Foot always over the clutch pedal ends in a burned thrust bearing 😂😂😂😂
Can you up shift without lifting your foot?
Your car needs to be tuned for it
it took me about a year of trying and looking at videos on RUclips and I can finally do this 😭 watching a tutorial by keiichi tsuchiya made everything so clear i believe holding the break the entire time was the key point that I was missing in the last months but I got it all together now 😝😁
Year? I thought I was struggling for a week xD
Could you please attach the link of that particular video ?
Ty sir. Ive been looking everywhere for information on if a fwd stalls when the handbrake is pulled. This just confirmed my suspicions.
The left foot braking is where I lose it.
lol u aint never races a manual before on corners I bet
@@EthanP-s6k yes, that is implied.

How many laps
What i do when im bored in class:
1,500 cc ba yan?
That Assetto Corsa bars...
i know what you mean. those do look like them lol. asetto corsa a good game… super stiff tho, but good
But why break and accelerator together ?
Rev matching his downshifts.
Don't worry he slightly press the brake and you can't blip the throttle pedal without pressing the clutch. So brake first, step on clutch, then press the throttle and downshift (while the clutch still pressed). Release brake and clutch and accelerate 👍
left foot braking? so you maintain the power despite slowing down. on turbo cars, you reduce turbo lag too.
So you don't trail brake at all?🙄 Don't you know how to use brakes in order to control "forward pitch" of a car?
is it a 1.5 2nr fe? I like the way you overtake them without crashing or bumping into the other car. That's clean bro!
Shouldn't you put your left foot on the side rest when accelerating, to avoid messing with the clutch?
Yeah if you are just casually driving you should because it is more comfortable. But as soon as you approach a situation where you possibly need to clutch you should have your foot over the clutch. In the race he is clutching all the time so why not keep your foot over it? As long as you don't lean on it so you do not press it it is ok
People do it different ways, even in racing. For example, if you watch Hot Version videos, Tsuchiya rests his foot whenever he's not using the clutch, but Taniguchi keeps his foot on the clutch pedal at all times. Both of those guys are legends with a long list of race wins and track records. Just do what is most comfortable for you. I find that the footrest is useful when you have seats that don't hold you in very well, so your left leg can hold you in place. Resting on the clutch pedal is useful if the pedal box is a bit tight and you occasionally get your foot caught under the clutch. I have both of those problems in my car, so I probably need either some bucket seats or skinnier shoes.
sir anton how can i join the race joint i really want to be a professional driver like you sir anton i am from the philippines i hope you can read my request please i really want to race i really wish for this💗💗🙏🏻🙏🏻
This is the coolest thing glad I learned it
What’s the name of the visualizer software?
Nice one,Btw im Alonzo's classmate when we were grade 1
Is it allowed to do wearing my old crocs?
I did better in my crocs
Love the tap dance. As they say in Australia 🇦🇺. Heel and toe but control the roll with left foot braking.
Never realized how important it is to bleed the clutch back to match the revs until I got in an actual car.
I've been trying to heel and toe in my first manual after sim racing, and I realized I shouldn't just drop the clutch after watching real examples and tutorials
@@madhatter5610You can't on downshift, you can on upshift as long as you're COMPLETELY off the gas. Infact, you can clutchess shift up as long as you're up in that sweet spot of your car. On the downshift, guy has muscle memory of exactly the bite point and quickly drops it very close to it and from there, you release the remainder a little slower but with practice it can look super fluid. Rewatch his first downshift and you'll see a little blue left before he actually completely releases it. Second downshift is slower but even smoother because he's reaching his comfortable speed to get on the gas and wants to keep the car as settled as possible in the transition.
@@LeHunkyDoryIf you give it the perfect amount of revs you will be able to instantly get off the clutch on downshifts.
What a drive!!! Kudos!!
how does your pedals go down that far lol what

white car: what did i do??
Do you shift down at the same time you rev? Or do you rev first before shifting down?
Rev first before downshifting.
@@alxfnjm so the sequence is Brake + Rev > Downshift?
@@nitromnstr4567 my bad. the correct sequence would be Brake > Clutch in > Rev/Blip to rev match (while still on the breaks) > Downshift > Clutch Out Or learn double clutching if this technique is too advanced.
@@nitromnstr4567you rev as you are changing the gears. If you rev as soon as you put the clutch in and then change gears, by the time you're done, the revs may have dropped too low. Of course this depends on how quickly your car drops revs
It doesn’t matter as long as clutch is depressed. When learning I recommend you do clutch - shift - blip- release clutch Now you don’t have to worry about the revs dropping too low. The clutch will bring them down to where they need to be. Always over rev vs under rev
What does the package include when you join the cup? I live in Australia (used to live in Batangas) but considering racing overseas because it's very expensive here to race and get your own team.
Appreciate this track guide! Do you know where I can find a track day schedule for the track? I would love to do a track day on that track next year.
Kaantok hahaha sobrang bagal ng vios. Pffffft
Perfect tire management! Your tires had enough grip even on that slippery surface. Even if it is a FWD, not a single hint of understeer was present. Good job on managing the power as well during wheel to wheel actions especially on the exits! Lastly, I loved the deep overtakes on the inside!
Very impressive!! Vamos Iñigo!👏👏
Understandably
Lol😂
That was close 2:15 timestamp. Great driving as always Iñigo.

Steering miss at the chicanes. Keep a clean line and stop jumping over them.
Nice ka, Kuya (from Visayas) At 7 or 8, you were already driving real cars pero ako ay nagsta-struggle pa sa WMMT simulators at 15
That switch-a-roo in the end won it for you. nice racing!
This is super finish! Mainit yung nasa black vios and his stint backfired for your well deserved P2! You should have won if not for those pesky P2 and P4 finishers. 😂🤣
how do you get familiarise in a right hand drive vios
I tried practicing right-hand drive on my simulator and I was surprised with how much it helped!
