It actually works perfectly. A 9.5mm optical drive is a 9.5mm optical drive. Uses the same enablement cables, and shows up just fine. Does what I need it to do, and no worrying about cluttering my setup with external devices and wires. I went with a BU40N in my ML350 Gen9.

@@JemaelAdien the bluray drive works perfectly in the DL380 G9, there's just nothing holding the drive in the chassis since it doesn't have the retention bracket I asked about. No worries though, I found someone selling a complete used kit for $22 on ebay. Will just transfer the bracket over to my drive when it arrives.

@sammy-h3f last teknologi delete raid tdk hilang data dia bisa muncul lg setelah kita buat raid yg sama dan posisi slot yg sama (if raid 5), bisa coba hapus raid hdd aja dlu lalu instal OS pd NVMe, bila nanti berhasil coba otak-atik boot prioriti pastikan NVMe first lalu hdd (bila HDD msh ada OS)

This happens for HPE ML110 Gen11 which has Intel VROC controller as the main storage controller (not RAID card), if the VROC driver is installed but the loud noise does not decrease when the OS is running then there is a misalignment between the Intel VROC controller and the system board then the bug that makes the fan spin fast as a response to the system error but no amber appears this can be considered normal just a disturbing noise, maybe the next firmware update can solve this. I have done the SPP update version "P73558_001_gen11spp-2024.04.00.00-Gen11SPP2024040000.2024_0414.16" but the problem has not been resolved, as a solution you can embed a RAID card and I have done it, ruclips.net/video/A5vnvO4drI4/видео.html

@@JemaelAdien haha, thank you for your fast reply. I forgot to enable auto rebuild when I removed a disk :) Luckily I didn't lose any data and could reinsert the old dead hard drive. Here is an important step for anyone else who has Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel® VROC) from intel. "To enable the Auto Rebuild on Hot Insert feature, follow these steps: Start the Intel VROC GUI application (run as administrator). In the Devices pane, select the controller that contains the RAID member disks (or the drives used to create the RAID volume). In the Controller Properties pane, look for Rebuild on hot insert and select Enable (or Disable to disable the feature). Rebuild on hot insert works only if Windows has not been restarted after the original drive failed or was removed. The new disk inserted must meet the minimum size requirements of the original disk and the array. The remaining healthy member disks must be the same type of drive (NVMe/SATA). The newly inserted disk must be healthy (no recorded SMART event). Keep in mind that all data from the newly inserted disk will be completely erased."
