Cutting It Close With Brett's E36
It's crunch time as the season is coming to a close here in Minnesota and Brett is trying to get in one more event this year. Thankfully all the parts showed up in time and we were able to assemble the whole group to come and help him get the car ready. Brett is genuinely one of the nicest dudes I have ever met so getting to see him shred the event and have fun is amazing! @@pajamawashere corvette is definitely a cool new toy! And yes another bmw, I needed a daily and a buddy was letting it go for a good deal. Bought it a few weeks ago but it’s in Ny and I still don’t move back easy quite yet so the reveal is yet to come!

All a part of the game, that’s why i have multiple hobbies so when my car starts acting up or an issue arises I’ll usually go mess with guns, bicycles (MTB,bmx,fixed gear roadbikes). We have the exact same car bro and i just spent the last year slowly doing a complete haulover on the car. Reinforement plates welded in the rear end, all new bushings in the rear end (literally 90% of everything is poly now), hydro break, vanos seals, COMPLETELY new angle kit made by myself, new stainless headers, new poly engine mounts, and more! But after all that i got an alignment and that same night my entire cooling system took a shit on me and after all that work the car sat for another month because one problem lead to another now it’s FINALLY driving with the new setup and I haven’t even beat it hard yet because i’m too worried to break something and have it on jackstands again 😂😅 it sucks but it’s all part of the game. I was hoping for some rain for a full shakedown but i might send it in the dry later today to see how she performs with the new “bulletproof” setup. Been watching for a minute now, keep up the hard work brother i look forward to every upload 🤝🏽
We also got the same truck! 04 2500HD with an LB7, I’ve spent 5.5k just getting the engine healthy again but she definitely scoots and tows. Great choice of vehicles, you’re the East coast version of me 😂

@@lokiarsenault626 unsure the year of the Camry but the part number is K200786. I got them off rock auto. Remember to get m14 hardware. Hope this helps!
So far I've found that one of the best "bang for buck" mods I've done is adjustable sway bars. SO good for adjusting the way your car drives to better fit your wants and needs.

@@sandro4888 try and get a 330 if you can especially if you plan on drifting it. The beefier transmission, rear end, brakes and engine are all things you will want. It will cost you more in the long run not getting a 330 off the rip because you will want to upgrade it

You can't (or at least shouldn't ;) ) expect another results making the same process :) As I good understood, this is the third day of like 'the same' event for last 2 videos, right? So you already know, that you can't have good close initiation and close tandems without a basic drift tool...I would even postponed one event (when this is a $ thing) to build yourself a proper setup finally then spend money to drive with the same frustration. But hopefully you know that :) Cheers

Fair warning I just accepted a private invite to an event I won’t have a hydro for that one either- that’ll be late September so there’s some time to go. I’m just kinda in a weird spot where I am moving out of MN soonish and want to maximize the seat time here with some friends

@@sieve417 I actually was in 2, I don’t run 3rd gear on this track as it would be too much out of the power band
Weight transfer and clutch kicking entries is big imo though. It’ll help set you up as you initiate especially as a lower HP car

driving is for sure getting better and better, but why you are doing it to yourself still driving without hanbrake? Driving for fun - ok, can understand it. But you are aiming for small comps. It is not about wanting to win - You will be pissed on yourself loosing some good battle just because you have straightened. Such situation took place in 7:45. Not bad run zeroed out, cause you didn't have the tool to loose speed beeing sideways. GET - A - HYDRO! 😉

How well has it run with a 190k miles? Would you recommend picking up a higher mileage e46 as a drift build or nah
@@e92slate 100% would recommend higher milage e chassis cars. It’s all about maintenance rather than milage on these. these engines are reliable and I swapped my 2.5 out at 199k for a 3.0 simply for power. The 3.0 has 140k on it

Have someone move the wheel side to side and you lay under the car and feel the ball joints in the LCA’s for play. Most likely this causing your issues

I don’t think so, wheel bearings has no vertical play
@@Its.VinnyB I mean (from what I’ve learned over the years) any play in the wheel like that is considered wheel bearing. If you’ve changed everything else and that didn’t work, it might be that. I know they’re expensive. They aren’t hard to change. And definitely might be worth it. Just an opinion

That same problem happened to donut with their Subaru going off track. So I could 100% seeing him not pushing in the clutch causing that to happen.
