you dont lube the outside of the bearing,it must be dry
This video needs to be deleted as the information is incorrect. DIYers will watch this and destroy their car engines. Why not apply oil between bearing and rod cap? Friction is essential here and it’s extremely important that the bearing and rod cap stay dry. The bearing doesn’t move so no lubricants is necessary. The crankshaft does spins and therefore lubricants between bearing and crankshaft journals is essential.
Did you check the clearance
You need to clean all the sistem for metal debris or those particles will damage your new bearings too early.

Ok..We all started from the backyard/ Alley mechanic school..But lets just...Pull the engine..and overhaul all the bottom end..Then Top end..or just save your money for a reman engine from Jasper..No more false hope....

There’s a very good chance the rod journal is messed up if you have a rod knock. Never seen one that wasn’t.

Nice trying to fix rod knocking but it's needs to be done right remove the crank and have it done the right way crank needs to be cut and the right size of bearings 😮
You just replaced a bad bearing why are you leaving the other one that is even worse....... that engine is doomed ,,,,,,,,

I'm 55 years old I did this to my 72 chevy when I was 16 years old.then truck to much rust put moter in Monti Carlo road this moter over 600 ,000 miles sold car to friend real cheep because old moter.he drove for two more years.but he didn't drive alot but that moter out worked itself.got to be a record on miles?
... They sell different size bearings I don't know how much over they bought but they could have put bigger bearings on cylinder 1The cars never gonna know that you have 2 different sizes...
Tried this before but it did not matter because the crank was out of round and still caused another bearing to spun

Back in the "60's", my buddies (chevy guys, I had the only Ford, 1956, 312 police interceptor from the factory. We would pull an engine on Friday night after work, rebuild it and have it back in by Sunday morning... The good old days....

That's y I had to change out barings. Cuz people like u puting oil on back side of the cap. Y would u do that the back of the baring is to be dry and the front that sits agenst the crank. Is to be olid not the back. Dam stop trying to. Be a mk. Go to school

If you have a rod knock there’s a really good chance that the crank is worn. Bearings aren’t going to fix your problem
You do not lube the underside of the bearing. LEAVE IT DRY !!! all your doing is helping to spin a bearing. They are held in place by crush force only
No more than .0005 clearance in between the rod bearing and crank or put in an over size bearing say .001--.002

Remove the Plugs and the Crank turns super easy/ Nice video, I once was in the Alaskan wilderness lost a bearing and cut up my leather pants belt and used leather as the bearing. Literally lasted a year.... js

So i have a 93 5.0 i took the rod bearings and mixed up the the tops marked some but by the time i realized it was too late is there anyway to fix this

Dont oil both sides of that bearing bro, only oil the side that mates with the crank 🫡 good video
