Something about this speaks to me in a viceral way I'm not used to. The thumbtacks on the typewriter is such an amazing visual representation for the pain he feels he deserves for failing his brother. He's doing it all for his brother, whom he feels he failed. He cries and bleeds for him. No one else in his life gets it and they never will

I would definitely read a book where the cover says "They wanted mercy, he didn't." Come to think about it, I need a movie that says that too.

Good gravy this was awesome! Think of all the weird low key epic things Holness is going to make before he's done. Can't wait to see that new horror he's written.

Yes but he's also punishing himself, the thumbtacks on the keyboard are like a form of self-abuse for failing his brother. He writes for George, and he bleeds for him because that's all he feels he can do and all he deserves.

We've all met this person, sometimes you sit opposite them at work for years. Someone who's slightly unhinged and convinced they're a badass, but is really just kind of pathetic and lonely. A wonderful short film.

profile of somebody who inevitably ends up doing something stupid. by the end of this short film he's got nothing and nobody left in his life, but he does have a gun. the moment of merging of his life with the film-grainy fantasy world in the apartment is telling

I sent a link of this RUclips video over to a friend for that very reason. He did indeed work with somebody a bit like this, who I met myself on a few occasions - an aspiring writer and stand-up comedian whose style was so badly stuck two decades in the past that he was never going to get anywhere. He wrote lots of scripts for Michael Caine-esque gangster films which never got far off anyone's slush-pile, and used to rant and rave while drunk about his lack of success and how everything and everyone in the world had gone to shit and was working against him. I understand he's married with a kid now which is a relief, because he was definitely at something of a crossroads when I knew him. I'm not saying he was about to gain possession of a gun and do anything daft, more that I could have imagined him becoming an alcoholic or having a long stay on a mental health ward.

They are absolutely fine, especially this one being a 1300 a series. Near enough bullet proof. It's all scare mongering. Yeah the design was a bit ugly but it was a decent car underneath

This is an amazing piece of work. I wish it could have made into a series - but then perhaps it's too good for that. Three things I tend to re-watch once every year or two - Mike Leigh's Naked, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, and A Gun for George. I wonder what it means!

It's times like this when i wish i was smart enough to better articulate myself. This is just great. Can't tell you why for the life of me. They've captured something and you can tell it took alot of effort to do it (or very little, which would amaze me even more). Somone smarter than me please tell me why this is so great!
