@norman5202 thank you. I've never specifically targeted sea trout. The stretch of fish is tidal but I suppose if I get it at the right ride height then it would be great fun. I'll need to give night fishing for them a go. Tight lines to yourself also.

@swedehunt1806 managing to get a few sea trout now. Hopefully get amongst the salmon next week 😉.

@busher2174 it's a custom made rod made on a Bloke spey blank. It's made by resilure custom fishing rods have a look on hiw website he makes phenomenal rods. The reel is a loop q series reel can stop a train that drag. It's as loose as it can go atm.

@codytinney1625 they get held up at the dams on the way up unfortunately so by the time they are up there they have a bit of colour in them. That was fresh of the incoming tide. First off the club water this year too.

@Scottishfreshwatersngling yeh never known a salmon to take the fly that deep before. Tried my best to put it back but unfortunately it was beyond saving. Tight lines for the Dee that river is on my list.

@connellaing-go6qk the upper Beauly is supposed to be really nice to fish. I'm thinking about having a trip up there myself at some point this year. The river is a hydro river so you can have good water when other rivers are low. Haven't heard how it's fishing yet this year but with the amount of fish going through the system I would imagine there would be fish up there now.

@@Hardlinesangling ah ok I fish the connon a regularly as it's cheaper than the Spey. What beats/ permits do you recommend?

​@connellaing-go6qk I've only really fished the Eagle Brae beat of the Glass and the Farrar that's a lovely beat to fish. Upper Beauly is supposed to be a lovely beat to fish also. I'm wanting to try it soon. Those are the two I know. There is also Culligrain on the Farrar which would be worth a shot also.

I was actually fishing with the pike rod when I caught the big perch. Ended up taking a massive lure that was intended for pike.
