    I'm adding this video to my favorites. Thank you for putting this in simple terms. Most of my friends these days understand time blindness, but I just lost a friend and the trouble started with them resenting my wife's absence and ended with them making passive aggressive accusations at her and crushing her feelings.

    In what way is it your fault if someone offends you, insults you, etc.

    • @adhdsolution2030
      @adhdsolution2030 2 месяца назад

      Did you choose to interpret what they said in a hurtful way? If so, that's on you. Did you choose to take it personally? If so, that's on you. For example, if I said to you "wow I hate that you have 3 eyes, that's so gross", this wouldn't affect you. You would know that it's nonsense, and you would just laugh at it and let it go. It wouldn't touch you. BUT, if I said to you something which you are sensitive about, for example - and I don't know you, but this is a common one - I made a comment about your weight, perhaps you might hear that and feel hurt. But if so, that's your fault. That means you interpreted the thing in a way that made SOMEONE ELSES WORDS a thing which HURT YOU. If you heard every word of insult or offense, for the rest of your life, as if someone was saying "lk;ajdfopijaqwef;lkajsdfiuhqwefl;kansdfiouyauwefoijasfd" (as in, utter nonsense), then you wouldn't be affected by it ever again. I'm not saying this is simple. Especially if this is new for you. But I AM saying that it's possible and ABSOLUTELY something that is WITHIN YOUR CONTROL.

      Obviously I don't know the full extent of this situation. All I can ask is this: 'Are you approaching the challenges you face as a victim? Or as the version of you which is empowered, strong, capable and seeing ALL the possibilities around you as opportunities?' Because you can't control these circumstances. You can't control if other people will accept their mistake. The only thing you can control is how you respond AND THE WAY YOU DO THAT is by controlling which version of you that you are. Good luck <3

      Hey brother, that is a great topic!! I'm very happy to make a video about that for you. It would help me if you could be a little bit more specific for me though. e.g. what are some of the issues you are having around task initiation, specifically? or perhaps could you give me an example from your own life of how this affects you? If you could manage that, then I'll be able to make a video just for you on that topic. HOWEVER: If you find it too hard to initiate on replying back to me on this (I'd completely understand if so haha), then just comment back with a smiley face :) and I'll improvise something generic on the topic for you. Don't overthink it. The first things that come to mind. And thank you for your kind words.

    Your voice is so quiet it's difficult to hear you. I'll re-watch this later as I'm recently diagnosed audhd and have suffered from chronic painful leg cramps for several years and wonder if the adhd might be the cause.

      @adhdsolution2030 3 месяца назад

      Hey I really appreciate the feedback, and it's great for me to hear this. As I re-watch it now, I can hear myself quite clearly. Maybe you could try watching it again on a different device? If you do, and it's no better, please let me know and I'll try and re-upload it for you :) Also it's entirely possible that the AuDHD will be contributing. I won't make any assertions about causality at a distance, but frequently the parts of us related to Autism will affect our proprioception and interpretation of internal stimuli (what we feel), while the ADHD will make us hyperfocus & hyperfixate on them (so the things we will, we feel MORE, and they become chronic sensations because we are chronically thinking about them). Again, don't just take my word for it. I'm not your doctor. But there is likely content in here which has significant overlap. Good luck on your journey. Pain can be a powerful teacher.

    Thank you for making this. I never thought about applying the technique of improvising like in theater to life. I’m a musician and this comparison of improvising being similar to being spontaneous and making it up as you go makes a lot of sense to me. I’m 29 and was only diagnosed with ADHD 2 or 3 months ago. Discovering a world of knowledge relating to ADHD and perspective changes to learn how to manage things more effectively in life, including from your videos, has been incredibly helpful. AHHHH! I love your comments. Thank you for these incredible kind words. YEAH DUDE! It's nuts. SOOO effective. I was a performer/dancer for a while. It's kinda wild how many parallels exist between how we conduct ourselves as artists and how we COULD be living our lives. So few people think to apply one approach to the other. People with ADHD are the best improvisers (and artists/creatives, if I'm being honest...) haha Glad to hear you've found a framework that's finally helping you understand yourself. Gladder still that my content seems to be landing for you. Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to make a video about.
