Some FPS is lost during recording. Between 5 - 8 FPS is lost. No doubt its to do with the fact that this is aging hardware and will struggle with modern games from 2023 and 2024.

@@horsegangstudios7557 yes at 1440p high to medium with a 3070 normally you can't go above 3.7 ghz but with a older version of intel cpu microcode 7th works for me it allows 4ghz on all cores it requires modifying you bios update file to change the version of the microcode

If i may, i would suggest to spend a bit more and get an RX5700XT or 6650XT. The RX580/590 wont last too long in the current game market, even with FSR and FG. Rx580 is not getting driver updates (it did update to last one, but didnt add anything beyond a minecraft fix and MS Teams fix). Now if you are in a real tight budget (like me :D) doi get it, because its really good for most games from 2024 and below. Just try to optimize settings as much as ytou can, you will most likely need to cut some corners.

Thank you for the comment. Yes, I was quite surprised by the performance to be had with this particular card. There seems to be some life left in it and is not yet fit for the scrap heap.

The reason for choosing to benchmark the RX 580 with the 4790 was due to the fact there is no bottleneck between the components and the pairing is quite balanced. The RX 5700 XT would be bottlenecked by around 25% and the RX 6650 XT by nearly 30%, so while the 4790 will be running at 100% you wouldn`t get the full power of the graphics card. I shall need to get hold of a 4790K and overclock it to see if that would handle the GPUs you suggested. In the meantime, I intend to test this setup with a GTX 1080 - so watch this space.

This video was made a few years ago on a gaming laptop. An Acer Predator Helios 300 to be exact. I used Nvidia GeForce Experience to optimize the graphics, but there was plenty of headroom to raise the graphics settings above the recommended level thanks to the i7 CPU - plus the GTX 1660 Ti is or was a great card. I`m surprised I have had a comment with this video actually - I don`t get many and don`t have a lot of time to upload benchmarks due to being very busy running a computer company on my own. Thanks for the comment though.

I7 2nd gen is over 12 years old. You'll have a huge bottleneck.

@@CarPitStop probably better off with a GTX 1650, but seeing as the GTX 1660 super is so cheap these days I'd go for it.

The card runs at 100 percent while the CPU doesn't, so you'll get ALL the power from the graphics card. The CPU will still have enough resources to do other things in the background, like running discord, or other programs because it's not bottlenecked by the GPU.

There is an FPS counter. Bottom right, raised a little from the bottom. Its put there so as not to get in the way of any HUD criteria.

Probably more like 50 to 55FPS with some frame drops here and there when there are people about. Seeing as this video was made a while back and Fortnite has become more power hungry I wouldn't bother with this combo with it. Most I'd trust for smooth gameplay may be performance mode on 720p. There are hundreds of PCs with this combo on eBay that will tell you that it will run fortnite, but don't bother, they're a rip off. This video shows how bad it can be, while there are some which are not too bad. Older games only with this combo.

No, not really. There is a slight bottleneck of aout 2.3%. which as long as you`re not using external software like discord and other CPU hogging stuff is negligible.

@@enji_drive Not really. The RX 590 will be working at 100 percent capacity but the i5 4460 will only be on about 80 percent load, which means that the other 20 percent can be used for other backround tasks such as discord or monitoring software etc.

Its ok. There is an 8 to 15 percent graphic card bottleneck depending on the games you play, this is due to the card being a bit weak for that CPU. For 1080p gaming I`d say if you manage to find a second hand one that is in good condition it would serve you well. However, amazingly an i7 4770 is much better paired with an RX 6600 or RTX 2060 - which is shocking......

I have an eye on RX 590 which is second hand but in good condition, so I started looking for a video of it paired with i7 4770 until I found yours which is pretty helpful. Once again thanks for letting me know how amazing the i7 4770 is, as it can be paired with RX 6600 or RTX 2060 which I didn't know before. 🤗

Actually no. At 720p it's the graphics card that is bottlenecked by about 30 percent and at 1080p 42 percent.

@@CornerstoneComputers928 yea that's what i meant, the cpu will bottleneck the gpu.. and at 1080p everything seems to be mostly fine definitely no 42% bottleneck happening, even in your stats it is usually both running at 95-100% which is good. Especially fortnite which is a good benchmark for cpu-gpu combo it shows that the gpu is being bottlenecked by 5-2% which is not much tbh.

I think its because I dont spend all day every day making benchmarking videos as most of my time is spent running a PC building business ON MY OWN as well as working FULL TIME and have a family.

If you don`t like the bottleneck, then I would say go with a GTX 1050 (non Ti variant) or a GTX 750 Ti...... You could always have vsync on and limit the amount of frams per second to say 30FPS which will get rid of some stutter. On the Radeon side, you have the R9 370 4GB and the RX 400 to 500 series, but I wouldn`t go higher than the 570...... but thats just my opinion... others may have differing setup configs to offer based on the type of games they play.

@@driftends3771 As long as you`re not doing anything intensive, then it should be fine. It has around a 9 percent to 11 percent bottleneck on the processor side, but anything below 15 percent IMO is fine. If you wanted to upgrade the CPU to accomodate the RX 550 then an A10 6800K would work.

For gaming though. Its a great match, the bottleneck is around 1 - 2 percent.

Yes, your right. About 25 percent bottlenecked by the GPU.... better off with a GTX 1050 or GTX 960..... but I was surprised by some games ran quite well on low settings and resolution.

Not really. There is a bottleneck of about 13 percent, but that would improve if you can safely overclock the cpu and manage its heat. The CPU runs at 100 percent and gets hot with the 1050ti.

@@noonecares5849 I know all about water cooling. I haven`t used one yet, but I`ve heard that the X4 760K is a good overclocker especially with water cooling and can reach speeds of 4.5GHz.... For an old CPU that is pretty fast.

The CPU has a thermal output of 95W so I'm using the stock cooler that came with it I think I will probably change it to an Arctic 23. Your English is good I use google translate a lot, it's quite good. I will be uploading more benchmarks soon and will be redoing these ones as I have invested in an avermedia recording solution, so there will not be any loss of FPS
