I’m currently playing Origin as my first game and really enjoying it a lot. I have 8 and 9 owned and look forward to the other Napishtim titles and maybe even 4 and 7…I could see myself playing most all of them other than 1-3 and 5.

I started with The Ark of Napishtim back on the PS2 so I'm biased towards the 3 games in that engine. My top 5 : 1.Ys Origin 2.Ys: The Oath in Felghana 3.Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim 4.Ys IX 5.Ys VIII (On some days Ys Seven is in this spot) I can't wait to finally play Ys X later this year!

Have to disagree on Ys Memories of Celceta. That's my introduction to the series and the one that made me fall in love with the games. (:

I didn't discover the Y's series till 2022. I just beat The Oath in Felghana and now started both Origins and The Ark of Nipishtim. Good times

Huge respect for mentioning YS IV The Dawn of YS! It's still one my favorites games in the series and I wish more people would try that one, was kinda disappointed with how Memories of Celceta played out, but still was quite decent.

It makes me so happy to see the series getting the recognition that it deserves. I am an older fan now, I guess (though not old enough for the originals). I got my start in 2006 with The Ark of Napishtim on PSP. Just randomly picked it out before a road trip and had fond memories of it until my PSP broke. Then did not rediscover the series until 2009-10 with Legacy on the DS. From that point on I was sold. I even imported Felghana and Origin from Falcom in Japan to get them before they were on Steam. I fully agree about the jdk band. They go HARD. Most of my music library is their work. With more fans comes more sales and hopefully more entries!

Granted, I never played them, but Ys I&II are very outdated in my opinion, especially the story presentation. I always see Ys XIII is the golden standard of Ys games that future games should strive for. It has fast-paced combat, great cast of character, great exploration and one of the best story for the series. Even Adol at that game feel like a character, rather than just silent protagonist. That's why I want Falcom to remake Ys I&II with story presentation and progression of newer Ys games.

Dont normally comment on older videos but I love Ys, I first played Snes wanderers from ys, when I found out that it was being remade I pre-ordered the psp game special edition. I'm glad I did because to this day it is one of my top favorite soundtracks ever made. My only gripe is my fav song in the Snes version is the shop music, and they did a great job updating it, but it's not on the dang cd lol. My fav Ys game though is 8, I have played through it 6 times now, and it's one of my top 5 all time favorite games. The deep layered story was so mind blowing to me, and I remember the first time I played it I was upset at how slow people were at looking for people lol. I had a genuine emotional ride in that game. I also love the fast paced hack and slash battle style. Got so good at movement tech, I thought about learning to speed run it, but I love the story too much to skip it lol
