Nice hunt!! Moose in water is never fun.. which checkpoint was that?
Looking for some advice on hunting the yukon. Anything you want to share?
I just checked the last time I watched this I liked, commented and subbed It's gone no wonder your channel isn't growing
Was this with a guide?
great hunt
Great video. Was just curious, at that 5:02 mark on the Alweld boat, where did you get that cargo rack or was that custom built? Thanks
Was this DM808? That's was I drew for 2024.
I just can't figure out why u would leave ur moose by the river overnight...surely that's just giving it to the bears...
We have not had problems with bears, and its much easier to see and watch the meat from camp on a sandbar rather than back in the woods. We watch it close and putting it where we do keeps it very cool so that the meat dries quick to preserve it.
Nice country with lost of moose. My only question is how people/families are you feeding? 3 big bulls! I’ve hunted my whole life, first moose when I was 13. One big bull usually fed 2-3 families until next fall.
We feed 8 families for the year. By the time September rolls around again, we are all low and ready for more! Thanks for watching
Existe vida melhor.......
Good stuff
Really enjoyed you guys Content looks like a really good time. Nice boats.👍👍🫎
I really enjoy your guises Video but get rid of the music. 👍👍
Wow, how many miles are you guys traveling? The boats didn't look that weighted down with fuel. Curious what kind of mileage you guys are getting with those setups.
We put about 800 miles on gps by the time we are done. We haul about 250gal of fuel on the boat and top off at one of the villages. We get 2-3 mpg depending on the current.
Shooting from motor vehicle and across water minus fine is $10,000 . Plus can’t shoot animal stand in or in the water 💧 😮. The second moose at 300 yds first shot is a miss , second shot a hit and last one ☝️ on shore . The third moose hit the first shot . Remember anything run off in a hurry is hit trick off the trade . Good hunting remember THINK 🤔 SAFETY and always put SAFETY FIRST.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful adventure. Brings back great memories.
Cant say you didnt try . Next time.
I like the color is not the same.👎
Congratulations on the engagement !! I loved the video and the hunt !! You use the resources available to you and it’s legal !!! Great hunt I only wish I could do that !! Congrats again !!
This aint hunting, Not even close.
It’s very common type of hunting in Alaska . River hunting and calling them in close to bank of river. I love to do it in my 19’ canoe while drifting .
sorry 👎👎
Moose don’t have glowing eyeballs- they lack the biology to reflect light
False. They have what’s called a tapetum lucidum under their retina like any other deer family animals and like what a dog/wolf or cat have that make their eyes “glow”
Well I suppose everyone has there opinion. I for one enjoyed your outing. It seemed like a family outing. Alas, it’s your time and the friends your with. Do as you will. Be respectful of all laws according to local and state and county . Bye the way. Nice shot! 300 yrds.

Huntin real hard.
What a trip!
Great hunt. I used to live in Tok Alaska and killed a bull every year. Great family memories. Thanks for sharing.
I would consider this unethical harvesting, NOT hunting. Do you practice long range, moving rifle shots? Did you even get out of sight of the boats? Booo..
Where do you hunt? How do you access your hunting areas? Our ethical hunt feeds 8 family’s for a year, creates unforgettable memories with family and friends and yes, we do practice long shots. Organic moose meat that we respect and take care of us pretty good! Thanks for watching
Haters gonna hate. Awesome video, thanks for sharing.@@jdodge15
@@jdodge15 I no longer hunt, but for personal not ethical reasons and I do very much support ethical hunting, sportsmanship and stewardship. We would commonly hike in for day trips and fully I endorse motorized transportation to remote areas for access. I also recognize and support Alaskan river boat style camping and access, not shooting from a moving motor boat, engine off or not. I've enjoyed watching plenty of people get off the boat to successful hunts after spotting animals. That being said I prefer beef for taste and also the fact it supports local farmers and our rural economy. Cheers,ed
Perfectly Legal and an accepted method for the region.
If it’s legal it’s legal! If you wouldn’t do it then that’s your choice but don’t berate people for legal hunting!
The last 3 years I was on fly in hunts and we ended with big moose in the water, I had bought a 3 ton bailey's winch and it takes less than 30 min to get a big moose out of the water
Congrats on your hunt and a bigger Congrats on her saying yes.
In Ontario, Canada, it is illegal to hunt from a vessel or vehicle. You can hunt tor waterfowl from a stationary vessel and that is it. I shoot moose in the bush on foot. Strange rules.
Not strange, just different
Here in sweden all hunt from vehicles is strictly prohibited and gives long jail time
This ain’t Sweden
Great hunt! Congrats and definitely a lot of work getting into camp! Also I didn’t realize you could shoot from a boat under power.
Thank you, you can’t shoot under power. Motor was off and no forward momentum. We were floating downstream.
Great video guys! Thanks for sharing
Awesome video, I met Dave this summer on the fire I have a cabin up by him.
Nice video Josh!
Nice animals, congratulations! It looks like the little man had a blast, raising him right 👍
We did that with our scout troop just a few weeks ago. Everything was very similar, except the Eagle river was about waist deep on the adults. VERY difficult crossing.
where’s the trail head ?
Healy Spur Road, you go a few miles down then take the first left and then a right. If you look on Google maps topo it is easy to follow
How many miles
Josh...how does one get back to the original trailhead upon completion?
It’s a thru hike, so you have to have a ride or vehicle at the other end.
THANKS FOR SHARING! I REALLY ENJOYED IT, I JUST RETURNED FROM THE RACE KICKOFF.
What a trip, thanks
Dang guys, rent a chopper to sling drop it. Save on all the sled wear and tear! 🙃

Great video, awesome adventure. I wish we had something kind of close to this in New England or just North of us in Quebec. But, Cain's Quest is the closest and that is a couple to three days to get to for me as a volunteer. I look forward to watching the Iron Dog Race. I hope there is good video coverage.
