DIY Ultimate Immersion SimHub Sim Racing Bass Shaker Setup
In this episode we'll be taking a journey into adding a total immersion system for our rig. A 5 bass shaker simr acing diy setup covering the whole virtual car so we can feel every little detail on track. So let's get ready to rumble!
When I put together my last bass shaker project, it used four bass shakers and two Nobsound amps. I then added some rumble motors to the pedals, and whilst this project was a lot of fun, it ultimately fell short of what I wanted to feel from the pedals.
About a year ago I switched to using Dayton Audio pucks on the pedals instead. This feels great but does now mean I have a situation of using three amps to drive the rig. That's where this project comes in, usi...

Quest 3 | Changes that Make VR Sim Racing Great Again

I'll be honest, when I first picked up the Quest 3, I enjoyed the experience but went straight back to using the Reverb G2, however that is no longer the case so let's talk about what changed. My biggest initial gripe with the Quest 3 had nothing to do with the screens, the mic or the audio, I found the head strap so uncomfortable that much more than an hour was agony. Hi! Was wondering if you’d know how to fix it constantly stuttering on steam vr link. I’m using a Quest 3 with a 2.4 usb c cable and it stutters like crazy! I can’t even play games like battle talent at all, and I just got the headset and I’m feeling a bit down. I’m not sure if my pc is the issue or my WiFi but it probably is my WiFi because I don’t have a Ethernet cable and my router is like 15-20 ft from my pc. If you’re able to suggest something better for connection please do because I really wanna play vr steam games which I also spent my money on. Thanks.

    I also own a ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5 and I really can't drive this game normally because of oscillating on the straights. The wheel keeps bouncing from the right to the left, it's very hard to control the kart, even in the most simple kart in the game. Do you know if there is a specific thing that can be causing this? I even considered buying a Fanatec DD2 to get rid of this problem, but I read that also people with a DD2 are having similar issues. *sigh*

      I had a 3090 at the time of recording. If you are struggling for framerate then it might be worth stepping down to high quality. The image quality might not be quite as good but we're always trying to balance visuals with performance in VR.

    Hello brother , first of all thanks for the great video . I have did exactly as shown in the video and have a few problems . My fans would immediately kick in when plugging in the psu so i connected a relay switch to activate them , the thing is that no matter how much i tried tweaking simhubs settings (windsim,shakeit motors) I could not get my fan to work properly. When i launch a race they stay on at 20% id say , when i turn left and right nothing happens, they only start working after I’ve accelerated to above 100mph , and when i slow down they almost abruptly go back to 20% Can you help me plz?

    • @Teqqlesdoessimracing
      @Teqqlesdoessimracing 22 дня назад

      This could somewhat be a trait of the fans you've picked, though there is also a gotcha in the Simhub firmware with two very similar names, one pretty much works almost as a on-off switch and that initially caught me out. Double check that first, but if not, let's see if we can debug it together.

    • @Teqqlesdoessimracing
      @Teqqlesdoessimracing Месяц назад

      Try fresh installing AC without mods. Open it up to make sure the game works, close is straight down afterwards and then install and load Content Manager. It should detect the game and you can go from there. Sol can sometimes be tricky, disable it and see if the issue goes away, if it works without Sol, then graphics driver updates along with running the latest non-beta version of Sol should do the trick. If your operating system recognises your wheel and pedals, then so should content manager. Go into the wheel configuration screen and make sure they're both selectable, if not, try opening the control panel. We might have to delve into that part in a bit more depth to see what is going on though.

    So I've tried every WiFi solution and find the direct USB3 connection to be the best for SimRacing. The resolution, frame times, and synchronicity of the ForceFeedback wheel feel much better. I have already switched to Wifi6 myself, etc. Nothing brings me the same quality. No matter what codec, how much bitrate... You can also use the OculusdebugTool to limit the vertical image, which gives you the greatest performance boost. As a sim racer you don't have to watch your roof or your feet, the apex is the most important. This easily saves me 30% or more in performance.

    I'm really thinking about giving up on meta quest since both pro and 3 have this stutter every 3 or 4 seconds which I think is caused by gpu to vsync, since It doesn't happen in recordings, or on my actual pc, just in the headset. Going back to a native pc vr headset for me might be a good idea. just want something wireless and light, might even try apple vision if I can get one for a lot cheaper later on, since I only need it for racing games.

      The original Pimax Crystal has issues so I'm not sure I'd recommend that as a wireless option for you. I hear what you're saying about the Quest line of devices though, the headsets can't always keep up with the encoded video signal and it feels like a syncing issue. It might be worth trying from a low quality bitrate and see if that gets rid of your issue. If you get hitching even then that'd certainly be depressing!

      @@Teqqlesdoessimracing thanks for the info. I already tried lower resolution and lower bitrate. It’s the same thing. Tried different computer and same. I really don’t think it’s a hardware problem because it happens on both quest pro and 3, but it didn’t always happen on them.

      @@GhostWriter_Music is this wired or wireless? I had issues with consistency with the Oculus desktop software which went away with Steam Link but then the visuals were a bit on the rubbish side, this is wireless though.

    • @GhostWriter_Music
      @GhostWriter_Music 2 месяца назад

      @@Teqqlesdoessimracing it’s wireless. I don’t have any problem with consistency in wireless. Even the stutter is consistent. Something I have noticed is gpu to vsync having a drop in milliseconds same time stutters happen. It also does it in the desktop, and watching movies from the desktop. It started happening after version 58 and it’s not part of that bug with WiFi. It’s a consistent 2400Mbps connection, I’m just researching how to get it back to previous firmware. Since it happened on both my quest devices, I can rule out hardware fault.

    nice vid man keep up the good work, btw i got the same seat and 2 pair of 50watt dayton bass shakers, do you think i could just ziptie them like you did? otherwise i got to drill some holes XD. let me know👍

      I think the BST-2 is perhaps as big as you can go with the zip ties. It sounds like you might have the BST-1 which is a bit larger and I'm not sure you'll fit them both in with the space provided. Zip ties have worked for me over the past couple of years though. I had to redo them once in that time, just because I have to step on my seat to make my way out of the rig and that snapped a couple from the flexing.

    OpenComposite+OpenXR is a much better solution than OpenVR through Steam. Bypass Steam VR altogether while getting a substantial performance and clarity boost.
