2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 Towing 1978 Chevy C20 - (4th of July 2024)
Moving my 1978 Chevy C20 to the farm to start tearing it apart. Will be a donor truck for a 1977 Chevy K20 restoration project I'm working on. The 454 may go in my 1980 Chevy K20 towing rig. Would have loved to tow this with my '80 but I needed to steal the battery from it for my winch and it also has a pretty bad rear main seal leak at the moment. So the '15 Silverado got to do the honors of towing. Squatted pretty good but handled it fine!
The Harbor Freight winch on my trailer makes loading a simple job, even when I'm by myself.

Finally got my 1980 Chevy K20 tuned up and running good. Was running pretty good in 1st and 2nd gears but in 3rd at highway speed it would just completely cut out. It's always something simple! Trees in backyard haven't been maintained in a LONG time, finally getting around to do some trimming. Bought a 2000 Arctic Cat ATV this weekend, perfect scenario to put it to work! Yeah for a 350 SBC and 3 speed transmission, I was pleasantly surprised! Pulls great! I'll have to review the towing upgrades I've made on this truck in a different video.

Based off what little I can see in the lomg video, remanufactured carb? I bet the secondary air valve is way to tight, should be able to gently poke it open, I bet they put the fattest secondary needles they could find as well. I think the timing is 4 btdc? That quad should be louder than the engine. If you attempt the air valve 3/32 allen.
Sorry didn't see this until now! I played around with the secondary air door quite a bit. I think I've got it smoother than it is in this video now. Hooked up the secondary vacuum pull-off and properly adjusted the air door and now it transitions pretty well.
@@squarebodyrancher the model I would junkyard pick had 2 extra feeds facing rear as the big flap opens ,can carefully bend the rod to the secondaries open sooner, works well with the extra feeds.had it in my Skyhawk ,130 mph,had to swap to AFB for smog cut power in half
