Thanks 👍

HI anymore updates on this block
Not at minute bud,its for a future project.
Amazing to have been on the sir nigel, Its in my list of things to do. I've had a hornby model of it since I was young
Highly recommended mate.
Hi john i have often poured petrol in the combustion chambers in the head to see if the valves are sealing properly, if they are not sealing the fuel would come out of the inlet or exhaust manifold but you probably know this type of diagnosis, i do the same with the bores in the block only with light engine oil, good luck with it.
Thanks for the comment, I have already done that and the valves let no petrol through,i have checked the head for cracks and with a steel rule and its good to go back in but I have found another problem which I will be talking about in the next episode.
Nice one john good luck with the resto , i have a mk11 husky, love spinning around in it at the weekends,
Thank you matey :) hopefully be putting in very soon when a few bits turn up :) I’ll up load my video once I filmed the rest of putting Christine back together :)
Good work as usual matey :) bet you can’t wait till she’s finished :)
Very cool car John!
Thanks Jim.
wow ! what a nice car, I,m after one like that. !
The guy who bought it from me has it up for sale again,he has back problems and has to have a higher car,if your interested I'll give you his contact number.
that started well given how long it's been stood!
Yes it surprised us all,its was parked there just over 8 years ago when my son lost his partner at 31 years old.
crap the bed I've been away awhile and youv transformed the Capri wow is that hat legel thou.nice motors them Mondeos bug spec some
take the towbar off next time
We did take it off, that part wasn't in the clips, many thanks for your comments bud, they really make my day.
@@retiredtruckersgarage.7606 wasnt being funny m8 . and it looked like u covered it over cuz he was laquaring wiv it on . thats all
@@TechUK21 didn't think you was bud,the towbar was removed to clean descale and paint underneath and the bumper was sprayed off the car and lacquered on the car.
The bumper turned out well!
Not a bad car regards it has been standing I had one diesel wicked run bout well made I think.
Always a good feeling when you get an engine running, definitely worth saving, not many survivours out there, thanks to the scrappage scheme.
Hi John, thank you for the mention. It is hugely appreciated. Great to see you working & back in the garage. Brilliant 🤩
hey john, i've got a ford capri project as well bit more work than yours i believe i'm only 21 but i'll be here watching you get this restored :)
Thanks for your comment my friend,i hope my journey with red helps you on yours,ia long hard labour of love
Hi matey terry here your DB5 instuctor ... brilliant video mate and so glad you had a great day with us. Hope to see you again soon 🏁🏆👍
Thanks terry,i will be back to drive optimus so see yer later.
At least you had fun, was the aston all you exspected it to be. Im really keen to go on a experience day but it looks like its the passenger driveing i suppose some are more relaxed than others, id wanna give it some on the straights to feel the power on the performance cars. Good vid at the end of the day.👍
Hi jason, the coaches want you to have a great time and get a feel for the cars,my advice is go for it ,thanks for your comment and im glad you enjoyed my video.
Well done, another panel saved, no need to chuck money at a project
🅿🆁🅾🅼🅾🆂🅼 😭
thanks for you comment my friend, and thanks for watching.
Great collection John 👌
thanks mate,i have more and will be doing another video on those later.
Nice job mate keep going on 👍👍
Thanks pal.
Keep going mate slowly but trying 💯👍👍
Thanks bud,its a long road even if you put 8 hours a day into it,and thanks for joining me on my journey getting red back in shape.
Another bit done, bit by bit, before long.... welding done 😊😊
it seems never ending mate,at least our restorations/builds show the thinking of 1st time restoring chaps the warts n all and what they are letting themselves into.
Just found your channel sir will have from the start , great to see a Capri being put back on the road 👍
Thankyou for subscribing and i hope you enjoy the journey.
Happy new plasma cutter 😊😊 thanks for the shout out too, my first 😉.
credit where its due mate,i never knew about plasma cutters till i saw yours.
Just found your channel and just subscribed. Love watching Capris get restored. You do good work mate, good to watch and learn from. I'll need to go and watch from the start now! All the best with her :-)
thankyou steven and welcome to my channel.
Yep, I hate welding upside-down too, but mostly cos spatter gets into your ears 🤣
had some of that dave it amazes me how it goes around the welding helmet.
That looks terrifying 😂😂
it is a bit tense trying to get it to work but i'll see what develops in the next video.
Well done, got it made 👍🏻
all thanks to you mate,cheers.
Cool workshop! Sunny greetings Lobo👍
much appreciated my friend.
Great little home made tool there.👍
my idea came from daves garage, thanks dave.
Top job, nice to see a panel saved, rather than money thrown at it. Sometimes new panel only choice, but not always.
Just Subscribed, look forward to following your progress, great to see another classic Ford being restored by a man in his shed :)
The battery tray looks good John and we'll done with the struts. I've always been nervous around spring compressors but fortunately I don't have that problem with my coilovers! These cameras are tricky things! I have the same problem but keep up the good work! 👍
thanks jim.
The roll bar is looking good 👍 I know what you mean about wrapping parts - even with the best of intentions I've chipped stuff, it can be fixed though 😉
Its looking good John, when i polybushed the cortina I found they could be a bugger to fit but I'm glad that's the way I went with it.
thanks mate,i would have liked to keep it original but the ford rack bushes were three times the price of polys and the polys are much better, you do get the feeling when fitting them that the brackets will snap though.
The surrounds look better in black, I love the music too!
it was my grandsons decision to go satin black with the front and trim, and the music is from free music on youtube =lobo loco-old riverboat id 1368,it looks like youtube have not added the link mate.
Hi John, The struts are looking good, I haven't tried painting over hammerite but I'll bear that in mind. I used rustoleum on my struts which is supposed to be hard wearing but it took forever to dry/cure! Take care Jim
surprised me mate as everyone said its a no no but i like to try it for myself, the blue actually is a high temp paint which is hard wearing aswell,so far theres no reaction, the derusting would have been a bind without my home made blaster and my grandson thinks its great and takes it over but he is good at it,and all being well he will be hosting the next video(if he doesnt bottle it that is)im looking forward to your video on the 3d printer mate hope its not too long.
Hi John, Thats some tidy masking! I'm interested to see how you blow in small repairs as I need to do this on the cortina. Thanks Jim
i started work as an apprentice diesel fitter in 1972 and we learnt every aspect of lorry repairs inc paint and its just a matter of leaving an area unmasked where it would leave an obvious transition marking so leaving it unmasked would allow the new paint to slowly blend in with the old paint,i will get back to doing the blow through later this year but mate im pretty sure you are more than up to it.
Hi John, That tensioner is tighter than I expected! You're homebrew tools look great 👍 I like the mondeo, it's a shame they're going out of production. If I needed a bigger car I'd be looking at one, is it similar to rosso red? Take care Jim
i love my mk3 mondog its a great car,and the colour is similar its cardinal red close to rosso and red my capri is rosso red and when i took her to shows the youngsters would come and asked me is it a ferrarri mister or is it a mustang ,lol,i guess they never saw a capri before.
That's a good collection John! You're right about making your own tools
Coming on now mate :)
Great introduction John! I like your honesty and thank you for the shout out! Itll be great to hear more about the tricks as its something I dont know a lot about.
Hopefully see you working on red soon :)
what do you think son ? my task is a lot easier than yours and i did mention you and your channel i hope you didnt mind.
Hi John I have a soft spot for the mk3 laser, yours is the same colour and year as on my friend had when we were 18! I a was always amazed about how smooth the second hand is on the Ford clocks! The garage looks like you have plenty of room to work in and once it's insulted it'll be even better! I'd be interested in seeing the sand blast cabinet you have too. I didn't realise we had the same vice! Mine was my grandfathers who i believe had it when he worked at the local colliery and as you said they're great at pressing bearings. I'm looking forward to seeing the garage evolve and getting to meet Red 👍
