This channel features Cuarteto Guataca and documents some of my adventures as a singing bassist, bandleader, busker and music lover based in NYC.
A “guataca” is a tool used to aerate soil, but among musicians in the Caribbean, it means “play by ear,” perhaps because the tool is shaped like an ear.
We play regularly in NYC!
* Thursdays from 7-9 pm at Cuba Restaurant and Rum Bar, 222 Thompson Street, Manhattan
* Fridays from 7-10 pm at Sahadi's Industry City, 34 35th Street in Sunset Park, Brooklyn
