Updates on work on my recent projects. I did misspeak in this video, the CEL on the 07 with the new engine computer. It was not previously coming on due to the Computer being dead. Flashmasters is on Ebaymotors. They sell PCM's programmed and ready to go. You will have to have your keys programmed to the new Pcm on some cars.

Here is my method for pulling transmissions on front wheel drive cars. No hoist, and I really dont like dropping cradles If I don have to. I have used this method on multiple GM 3100, 3400, 3800's, Ford Tauruses, and even a Ford Freestar (had to pull the front exhaust manifold/starter for it to clear).

Is programming required when replacing the PCS. Calibration or something like that. It says it is on the part info page on rockauto. Just wondering.
@@eddiekilby no. It’s best to relearn adaptive shifts, that can be done with a higher end scan tool
Funky position but not dealing with all the hoses and cords. Just a few clips 2 bolts and you can even clean your cabin filter bay. Loved this thanks for the prospect and time saved.
Did you have to remove the bolts for the catalytic converter at the back of the engine close to the firewall before you started dropping the transmission?

I had a history p1811 in my 2004 chevy venture with 4t65e. Sometimes going down the highway, I could feel a delayed shift from 3rd to 4th. I installed all the parts from a transgo kit with a pan drop and fluid and filter change. This caused a new problem. On a long trip it seems that the shifts are good now at highway speeds but when I decelerate to almost a stop and then step on it to accelerate back up, it sometimes has a delayed shift maybe from 1st to 2nd and makes a bad noise. I have to accelerate really slowly if I don't want this to happen. Do you have any idea what might have caused this?
Your work more than likely caused the new issue since it was not there before. Go back and check everything, or have it jerked out and rebuilt.
I'm stuck tryna get the panel off any tips??
Hey so do I have to remove the cv axl or can I just spin the trani cover outta the way
what one is for 3rd/drive I'm stuck wit p/r/n/1/2 ?
How do u remove/install cv axl??
More often than not, when i need to accelerate quickly from a stop, i floor the pedal and the car acts as if im barely giving it gas. After about 4-5 seconds of this, the car begins to act normally and accelerates quickly. Does this sound like the pressure control solenoid?
HAND START EVERY SCREW. YOUR WELCOME. DON'T DO WHAT THIS GUY DID. JUST BEING HONEST. YOU WILL END UP CROSS THREADING.
Thank you
Thanks for this. Was having a hard time figuring out how I was going to go about this with no guidance.
Thank you. I’m choosing this route as I believe there is less to go wrong mechanically. 😂
God these things are junk 🤣 thanks for convincing me to just get rid of it. Has a small lil punch when it shifts but ima just slap some stop slip and royale purple innit and run it
Hey... Thanks for making this video. I just bought a 2012 Model. You helped me out tremendously ‼️‼️
Where is part one and part two videos link?
I know how to take the tire off but how do u take the parts like the arm to get to th trans at the bottom
Are the passenger side just loosened or fully removed?
Loosened
@@mph5896 your pcs loaded with clutch material because the poor pan magnet?
The steering rack is connected to the sub frame? Is the removal of steering column really necessary?
Yes, if you don’t you run the risk of pulling the intermediate steering shaft apart
Hi. I have a 91 Buick Lesabre Custom. Think i have bad transmission solenoids, since it will run and just cut straight off and it is starting to make a grabbing sensation in the trans as you drive it. I can't run it on the street anymore. I have heard either the TCC or the TPC solenoid could be the problem, which may happen around the first 120k miles. Do you know if there are upgraded transmission solenoids for my car, and if so where can i find that part number?
Hooray im changing my solenoids helpfull vid
10yrs later this helped me out, thanks!
If the aircheck sounds a little leaky spray trans fluid into the port and try again.
This advice is PHENOMENAL!!!! The exact video i needed. Smart solution to maintenance. Keep it up 👌
Doing this on a 97 lesabre with a 60E tranny. Long, tedious process. I would suggest to anybody to get parts ahead of time-- ball joint, axle, gaskets, etc, if they are old. I don't want to do this job a second time. Thanks for the vid.
We're looking forward to watching this documentary. Are you coming? Do you have plans to watch it?
THANKS:)
Have same code p1811 have 03 chevrolet venture awd what part number
I've watched all your vids on these trans...i have a 2000 grand prix and it hard shifts ONLY when completely warm. I drove it yesterday in cold Virginia weather and it shifted fine. However in the summer it shifts hard pretty quickly. 165k miles. I think I'll do the all the shift solenoids soon. unless you suggest something else? Your vid is EXCELLENT! I've been sharing...THANKS SO MUCH.
You can try a new pressure control solenoid. Might be a time for a rebuild or a new car
The entire axle, strut and hub comes off as one by removing the lower control arm pivot bolts, the 3 upper strut mount nuts. Pull the wiring harness from the brake and loosen the axle where it goes into the transmission. The complete assembly can then be removed from the vehicle.
I pull the axle separately, otherwise it's a lot of weight and girth to maneuver. If the axle is stuck in the hub, then altogether.
@@mph5896 Thanks for the unexpected reply. Mine was already off the ground and half disassembled when I realized the axle nut was still on. It seemed easier to take the parts off as an assembly than to go back and get the nut off. It was very heavy coming out, but I think I can wrangle it back in. It sure did save some time (so far). Cheers!
Thank you this is going to make the job a lot easier for
This is a great video I give you that but it really pisses me off that you say this is the hardest part of the job and it’s the only part that you don’t show you couldn’t get a Flashlight or anything to show what we’re supposed to be doing?
Nope. This video is over 10 years old and I will not be making any more videos again. Feel fee to make a better video of the repair. Let me know when its done so I can critique it.
OK so I have a silhouette so it’s a different vehicle my steering rack does not have that bolt to release it and I don’t know how the other message is done and given the risk it sounds like is involved I didn’t do it so I tried to get the pan off without releasing the steering rack which I almost got it but I couldn’t get it so I did manage to get a small gap and I needed to change the top front solenoids with barely any room maybe 2 inches but you know most of that stuff sticks out so I had just barely enough room to get my fingers in there trying to figure out where the locker pin is in the solenoid because I never seen one in a video couldn’t find a video to show me and I just kind of felt around I looked at the new solenoid and I realize I can see where the Walkerton goes so from there I just kind of felt around the area I thought it would be in found it used a 3 inch wood screws to pry it out but not all the way just enough so the solenoid popped out I pushed the clip back in partially so it would not fall out then I put the new solenoid in pulled back very carefully so it wouldn’t fall and Eureka I got it but you know what the worst part is I’m on the road and I’m in the church parking lot that I got permission to be in yesterday but I don’t have anybody’s phone number the police pull up were harassing me put my pants behind my back they clearly knew that I was here with permission but they harassed the hell out of me called someone from the church that didn’t know I was supposed to be here and then they said I have till midnight to get it done basically stressing me out which is how things go wrong so I had that to deal with also so there’s no video others in the police but based on what I said I guess you could critique that
No hostility But when I messaged or sent that critique message that was after the harassment and be a timeline being put on me unnecessarily
So I was rather frustrated and as soon as I got the new solenoid in I pretended because I know the police are listening I pretended I was just gonna give up and put it back together so I didn’t get towed and I started putting it back together than the church people showed up within about 10 minutes right you know and I said I’m just not gonna do it I’m already putting it back together because the police and blah blah blah and they’re all oh we’re sorry we’re sorry I was trying to get a feel for him exactly was involved in this nonsense but of course I get no answers and now they say I’m fine I can be here here’s a note to give the police if they show back up blah blah blah funny thing is I told them last night the police know where I’m at all the time they’re harassing me all the time that’s why I’ve been waiting days to find a good place to do this so I want to be sure I won’t be bothered they said no you won’t be bothered it’ll be fine I said OK because I have politicians and high-level agency types harassing me and trying to destroy my life etc. and maybe they thought I was crazy right
Or maybe they’re trying to help drive me crazy
WHAT WAS YOUR FIX???
Just picked up this transmission from junk yard. I’m having this issue. I’m pissed!!!! I’ve been screwed over. It took a lot of work puttin this damn transmission in.
Rebuild
Very cool ,I also found I only had to remove the passenger side, probably I didn't even need to remove wiper blades.Great video Thanks😊
I bought this kit and it blew my transmission
Bummer.
Why are you using dirty gloves
Why not? Purpose of the gloves are to keep my hands from being stained.
I know this is an old video, but I have this exact same issue, low pressure when cold, putting it in low kicks the pressure up, will operate normal after warm. Did you have to end up changing any clutch packs, or was it only the wore piston loosing pressure? Thanks!
If you are in there, I would do it all. Clutches are cheap in comparison to the time it takes to break one down.
@@mph5896 most definitively! I would 100% do the clutches as well. My question was whenever the problem was clutch or seal related. Just FYI, based on your leaky piston diagnosis, I decided to try and rejuvenate all the seals without tearing it down using AT-205. If the theory was correct, and it is a piston seal leaking (and probably all of them by age) then this should help, and if not, no harm done, just $18 bucks and 5 minutes of my time. I poured a 8 oz bottle of AT-205 reseal on the transmission and drove it all day around town. I let it sit overnight, and this morning I went and fired it up and put it in gear cold, and voila! Instant solid apply of both Drive and Reverse. It now shifts like a whole new transmission. So this confirms your diagnosis on leaky pistons and seals. I’ve had great success with AT-205 in everything rubber on engines, but this is the first time I’ve used it in a transmission. By the way, this is a 4T65e on a 2000 Pontiac Montana.
How much you usually tou charged for a service like this???
The problem that I'm having with my 4065 e-is in a Buick LaCrosse 07 model and I put it in drive and there's nothing but drop it all the way down to first and take off but it slips and then I'll shift into 2nd and slip a little bit and then it'll grab and 2nd and shift on through but if I slow down to stop for a stoplight have to start all back over and 1st what would be my problem
Overdrive band end broke off is the most common issue to cause that. Trans needs to be pulled out and rebuilt
silly question, but what if they're the spilt type?
Makes it even easier. Put some trans assembly lube on and slip them on😉
Thanks fornthe oil pump trick
Thank you.
What’s your number ??
I changed my plugs just recently...amd didn't do any of that
Neat. Good for you
@@mph5896 would have been easier though...it was a little bit of a pain
This is a lot of work, hope I never have to do it, but nice to know there's a video.
Did you remove cv axels on both sides or only diver side?
Drivers side only
Couldn’t u just take the 2 bolts out of the strut to drop the subframe? n taking the 2 bolts out of the rack n leaving it attached seems easier to me
You can pull the 2 strut bolts out instead of the ball joint if you prefer. Steering rack, service information states to NOT unbolt it from the cradle and support it. Reason being the rag joint can come apart.
