Our Top 10 Horror Movies from the '90s
These decade rankings are great to watch, really enjoying them. A lot of my picks would of been mentioned by you guys but they be in different order. So my top 10 would be: 10. Misery 9. Braindead 8. Event Horizon 7. Night of the Living Dead Remake 6. Se7en 5. Scream 2 4. The Exorcist 3 3. The Faculty 2. From Dusk Till Dawn 1. Scream
Absolutely cracking top 10 mate. Yeah had a good laugh doing them and may go back at some point! We've had a pretty good decade currently, would be a good one! Thanks for diving back mate
Great list from you guys, but Curtis I’m so disappointed in you. No ANOES films, think I’m going to start agreeing with Jenks from now on 😝 My top 10 would be: 10. Child’s Play 9. The Shining 8. An American Werewolf In London 7. Silver Bullet 6. Halloween 4 5. Evil Dead 2 4. ANOES 3: Dream Warriors 3. The Lost Boys 2. The Thing 1. ANOES
🤣🤣🤣 sorry I let you down! I LOVE ANOES but the 10 I picked I just couldn't drop 🤣 Cracking top 10 your side though
Another great episode guys. Agree with all your picks even though I am one of those people who wouldn’t class any of the Predator films as horror. Love Jeepers Creepers 2, think it’s better than the 1st one. I’m the same as everyone, when I first seen Season of the Witch I hated it but when I got older and rewatched it I realized its an amazing film, 4th best in the franchise for me.
Yeah I kind of agree with you on the predator front, even though it's my pick...but i did feel like Predators is the closest of the movies to be a horror! Very dark themes. Yeah, Halloween 3 is absolutely a grower. But I adore that film!
Great video lads. Realy enjoying your pods and vidros lately. Just listened to the replay in work this morning. Just requested to join the facebook group too 👍
(Curtis) Thank you mate, and nice one for jumping on the replay! Glad your enjoying them!
Hey lads, catching up on some of your old content, great episode. Great shout from Jenks with Final Destination. My favorite franchise is ANOES because I love Freddy and love all the films even though there are some shit ones. I do agree with you guys Evil Dead is the only franchise out there that doesn’t have any crap films, every film is perfection. Overall it probably is the the best horror franchise ever.
(Curtis) You're the man, thank you! The best franchises are the ones where you even love the crap ones! 🤣 I do love ANOES, but yeah, Evil Dead is by far the most complete franchise, not one bad movie! We're dropping nightmare 2, freddys revenge tomorrow, that was a fun one! 🤣
It was a pleasure speaking to you guys. 2 of the nicest guys ever!
(Jenks) Same here, Barry. Had such a blast. Hopefully we can do it again next year 😊
(Curtis) Yes! Was an absolute pleasure mate, your an awesome guy fair play
@@TwistedLocker yes, boys. Next year for sure!
@@WolfmansGotNards Thanks mate 🙂
Great episode, chaps. It was a pleasure to meet you and hang out on the Friday night. Tony. #KeepItCult
(Jenks) Same here, mate. Friday night was the highlight of the weekend. Great group pic, too 😊
(Curtis) Was awesome to meet you mate. And such a good night!
Thanks for watching. Have you seen Terrifier 3, Smile 2, or Mr Crocket?
Great stream as always guys. I prefer Demons 2 to Demons, saw both when released on VHS about 9 to 12 years old. Sorry can't join FB, I'm not on it. Good luck 🍀😊🐾👋👍💜
Thanks again for joining as always!! Yes, have great memories of demons watching it way too young 😂 Curtis
(Jenks) Demons 2 is class. I haven't seen either for probably 30 years, so I think I'll give them another watch 😊
Awesome show again tonight guys! Always the highlight of my week 😁
(Jenks) Thank you so much. Your support means the world 😊
Thank you so much!
Missed the livestream 😞 catching up now! Love the photo! So glad you got to meet and at a horror convention! Wicked 😍
(Jenks) Hi, Ella. Yes, we had a blast. Hope you enjoy the show. It's my favourite one so far. Thanks for all the support 😊
I found Human Centipede 2 far more upsetting than a Serbian Film. Where he straps barbed wire round his little man and r**es the woman at the end of the centipede. Wow!😳 No, I haven’t seen the uncut version of Serbian Film with the vile newborn scene. 🤢
(Curtis) Yeah I've never pushed myself to watch Serbian, never had any interest, and if your saying Centipede 2 is worse...I'll definitely never watch it! 🤣
(Jenks) I don't think I can handle something like Serpian. I've heard about the vile baby scene ☹️
Yeah i know what you mean with going too far. These horrors like Serbian Movie, Human Centipede and even ones like Hostel & Terrifier just seem to be trying too hard to be gory.
Yes exactly! I love a bit of gore, but when it's fun and doesn't only rely on trying to make you sick. I think Terrifier borders that well, because Art is a fun villain. Human centipede 2 has none of that, it's just horrible 🤣
(Jenks) Yes, I'm not a fan of torture porn. Characters and plot always have to first for me 😊
Hey lads this was the third pod i listened to in work. The practical effects here are off the scale. The snake in this looks better than that CGI mess one in Freddy Vs Jason. I think Curtis may have said this was his first horror film and SAME! Love this movie so much. Take care
Thank you mate! Yeah, easily some of the best practical effects around. Can't beat the bong smoking freddy 🤣🤣
Hey lads another great episode. Love Hellraiser and I too dont mind the third! Yes its always felt mysterious to me as to why Julia falls for Frank but she is obviously ad depraved as he is when I think about it. Shes has that murderer instinct in her after all. Great practical effects too. Take care
They really are a match made in heaven mate 🤣🤣 Thank you buddy
Hey lads. Listened to a few of these in work the other day so just gonna leave a comment to each one I watched. Hope you have a great time at FTLOH! The Hills Have Eyes might just be my fave remake of them all tbh. What a great film and yes that caravan scene is class. Sorry to hear Laurence R Harvey charged you money for a photo LOL! Take care
Yeah, Hills is easily up there. Out does the orignal for me, it's a much better film. Haha it was worse because he was just chilling having a fag....come on!!! 🤣 Thank you!
(Jenks) Hill, Dawn, and Texas are awesome. Dawn being my fave. Thanks for watching, mate😊
If you want full on brutality with a touch of comedy I recommend the new Terrifier 3 movie. I thought that it was cool. It's playing at the cinema's right now.
Yeah, absolutely loved Terrifier 3! Big fan. Thanks for the recommendation 😀
(Jenks) Yes, I caught it the other night. Really brutal 😮
Another great video guys. Maniac is very underrated, I love when Elijah Wood plays the villain especially in Sin City. My girlfriend is not a horror fan at all but one night she let me put one on cause I was doing her head in. I could of went for something not to scary but said fuck it and put on the Evil Dead remake 😂. She didn’t talk to me for a week and was terrified for weeks after it.
(Curtis) Thank you, mate!! Yes, he's great in Sin City as Kevin, proper nightmare stuff. Now that's a rough one im not surpised 🤣The first film me and my girlfriend watched in the cinema was Evil Dead Rise! There's something about Evil Dead that brings couples even closer 🤣🤣🤣
(Jenks) Yes, my wife couldn't even get through Evil Dead 13. She won't even attempt Rise 😊
There's some proper brutal ones out there. Texas chainsaw being the most enjoyable. But yes, these picks are extremely hard ones to watch, I really enjoyed the route you went down. Cracking one boys
Texas chainsaw is an all time great, and has much more rewatch value than some of these! Thank you!
(Jenks) Yes, Texas is awesome. 2003 remake is awesome😊
Another great video. I have a feeling your channel is going to blow up soon and it deserves too. You offer great reviews of underrated horror gems. This is not a horror film but Elijha Wood starred in a great serial killer movie. He plays an FBI agent interviewing Ted Bundy and the actor that plays Bundy has his mannerisms, way of talking and everything down to a tee. Keep it up this channels going to take off big time
@@HikingExpert-e3n (Jenks) Thank you so much. That means the world to us. We put our heart and soul into this channel, so it's all worthwhile when we read comments like yours. I haven't seen that Ted Bundy film. It sounds great. I almost forgot that Elijha also played a serial killer in Sin City 👍🙂
Curtis here! Thanks so much, that means a crazy amount, and we cam only do it with awesome people coming back and enjoying our channel! I'm yet to see that one, but it's on my list! Thanks again 😊
Great vid guys..I love me some brutal movies! The Sadness and Terrifier are two of my favorites.
Thank you! Well, I've only just decided to jump on terrfier and then capped off with watching thr 3rd in cinema, loved it. Would have definitely included it
(Jenks) I still haven't seen a Terrifier movie. I'm going to start with part 3 tonight😊
@@TwistedLockerTerrifier, the sawing in half scene!🤢
@@steveb1972 Proper horrific!! I just watched the movie with a Q&A, with the actress talking about that scene as it happens, that was entertaining 🤣
My family are going to love this xmas day marathon recommendation, cheers lads 😂
🤣🤣 Just to keep the festive period extra cheerful!
(Jenks) Maniac is the perfect xmas movie 😂
@@TwistedLocker to be fair Jenks my mum let me watch horror as a child so she brought it on herself 🤣
@@jordanmoran1983Brilliant 😂
Absolutely disgusting, all of them 😂
Just pure grotesque!!!!
Awesome and brutal 😊
The only of The hills have eyes 👀 2 is quite brutal along with TCM 03 & Last house on the left. Great video guys 😊👍🐾💜👋
Thank you! Yes, last house on the left remake is extra brutal. There's some nasty bits in Hills 2 also
(Jenks) Thanks for watching. Hills 2 is pretty brutal too, but having a family under attack seems so much worse.
@@TwistedLocker I agree, was just thinking of some different ones 👍👍
Thanks for watching. What's your most BRUTAL HORROR?
Great video lads. Listened in work this afternoon and it was highly enjoyable yo hear your thoughts on these films. That comment about Dannys hair being the scariest thing about The Shining 😂 Take care
Thanks for watching mate! Poor Danny, just can't catch a break 🤣 how do you feel about jumping on the next tier ranking we do? If you have any socials we can chat in there mate (Curtis)
In my opinion I think 94 had the best set of movies, Speed, Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Dumb and Dumber, True Lies, Interview With The Vampire, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare. The list goes on. Sixth Sense is amazing but I think Scream kick off the horror genre again, not only with slashers.
94 is absolutely a killer year for movies. And yeah, Scream carries enough weight alone for horror.....Pulp fiction, masterpiece
@@TwistedLocker Forgot to say you done a great job on this short vid. Look forward to more off them 👍🏻
(Jenks) Thank you so much. Yes, there was a mixed bag. Pulp, T2 and Jurassic made my 90s 🙂
Bummed that I missed the live on this one, but pumped to be catching the replay!
We missed you!! 🤣 But thanks for catching it on reply mate
Superb lads, for creepy and scary ghost films I'd recommend Sleep (2023), gonjiam: haunted asylum and a tale of two sisters (all Korean I think) one of my favourites is the Orphanage a Spanish film from (2009) produced by Guillermo Del Toro and directed J A Bayona.
Thank you mate! I've seen all those bar sleep, which I'll add to the list. Gonjiam is a proper creepy one, the scene where the ping pong ball flies from out of the dark killed me 🤣 Orphange is another top tier one, some really unsettling stuff
@@TwistedLocker just watched Sleep today and it's really good at gradually increasing the tension without going for jump scares. I watched haunted asylum with headphones, wtf was I thinking 😂
@jordanmoran1983 Just looked it up, I'll be jumping right on it! 🤣🤣 wrong move. I remember watching paranormal activity with headphones, on my own. First, and last time!
@@TwistedLocker nice one, you've now got me looking up Korean ghost movies 🤣. I've just read that the highest grossing South Korean movie this year is a ghost movie called Exhuma and it's got great reviews from everyone. 👍🏽
@jordanmoran1983 😂😂 That Exuma looks like another cracker! Not a ghost movie, but I Saw the devil is easily the best movie to come out if South Korea
Love the original “The Fog” by John Carpenter (the remake was complete trash).
Has to be one of the worst remakes ever made.....absolutely adore the orignal!
Great episode guys. I just don’t understand the whole hype with Sinister, I think it’s one of the worst horror films ever. It’s up there on my shit tier with The Babadook. I think The Amityville Horror remake is scarier and a better film then the remake.
Hi. Thanks for watching. I love the Babadook 😂, but Curtis hates it
@@TwistedLocker Yeah I remember you saying that a couple of times 😂. One thing I love about you guys is that yous don’t love all the same movies, so it makes thing alot more interesting. But I do side with Curtis most times 😂
@@plankDtank Curtis here.....Badabook sucks 🤣 but I do like sinsiter!
@@plankDtank (Jenks) That's the great thing about horror. It's so diverse. I love Babadook, but I've always struggled with the Halloween series
Thanks for watching tonight. We had a blast 😊
Absolutely a fantastic episode guys!
Thank you so much (Jenks) 😊
Love this solo vid! Good job Jenks!
Thank you so much. It was a little out of my comfort zone, but I never shy away from a challenge 😁
I was born the 90s, definitely the year for the best
Good decade, but 80s runs supreme!!
(Jenks) Yes, 80s was a special time for horror 😊
Sorry I missed this. I'm watching it now xx ❤
Hope you enjoyed it! 😊
@@TwistedLocker loved it xx ❤️
1996*
Birth of the greatest.....FROM DUSK TILL DAWN!!
Yes, Dusk was class. Shame about the sequels 😮
Great video as always guys 😊🐾👍💜👋👋
Thank you 😁
(Jenks) Much appreciated 😊
Thanks for watching. This was my first solo video, so go easy on me 😊 Curtis did a cracking job on the edit as usual!
I completely agree I was so disappointed and let down with this movie. I'm also the same films I'm really interested in I don't watch trailers or reviews and go in knowing as little as possible. I actually went and seen this three times with different people because when I watched it the first time I thought the problem must be with me, I thought maybe I was tired or maybe I didn't pay attention and thats why I found it so boring but nope the film is just poor (for me personally) and I don't like it at all. I know it could be harsh I rated it 3/10. I was expecting something like the silence of the lambs I just don't know what this mess was. I hate to leave negative comments on films but it just didn't work for me on any level
Yeah it's a huge shame. I was SO dissapointed leaving cinema. It's not a bad film I just did not connect with it one bit
I watched the Substance a week ago, I saw the cast and read the brief synopsis and went into it completely blind. I was not prepared for what I was seeing, what an absolute blast and shock that movie was. As disgusting as it was I just couldn't stop watching. Fantastic movie
My exact reaction while watching! Could not look away. Movie of the year for me, absolutely
