keep going at it mate! only note i have is to release sustain more often <3
Sustain hides the errors better 😆
Look at his face! Music in the soul of a man!
Got that right, blues was the first thing I learnt on piano 😎 Ha!
I love that player! It’s a standard action player right? Also great singing, I took choir a couple years ago and it comes in handy when trying to sing along with the player pianos in my collection.
Yep! Made in either 1913 or 1918. And thank you! I took choir last year as well, and it definitely helped!
I love your jovial approach to music. ☝🏽💙 🖖🏽
Thank you very much!
This is such a fun song!
It’s so cool to see how that piano works
Yeah definitely! I was fixing up a part of it, so figured I may as well at least record a video while I have it off
@@IsaacTEdson what are all the instruments you know how to play?
@JuliaHunter-zr1mb Piano, organ (kinda), guitar, banjo, ukulele, bass guitar, harmonica, drums sorta, and then singing of course if you include that. All to varying degrees of skill, with piano definitely being my top, and everything else just picked up here and there along the way!
@ nice!
How does a record player make sound you think all that you would hear is Scrape scratch scrape
Really is cool! Think of it as a bunch of tiny scrapes all at different pitches, all put together really fast, and when they are, the combination of them makes it sound like words forming!
Wow u are so cool!! you need to write your own songs and release them on platforms 🥹💫
Thank you so much!! I definitely will be posting some of my originals here eventually!
Bravo! How old are you by the way?
19!
Hi, I have some rolls of this piano but they don't have the circular signature like the one I see in the video, mine are instead accordion-shaped or rather many rectangles folded on them... can you give me information on the name and period? If you want I can send you some photos Thanks
Do they work on a piano that you have? They sound like they’re what was used for the old organ players, like what would be in an old merry-go-round. I believe those were made around the same time as these pianos (1890s-1930s or so), but I’m not 100% sure. This piano roll specifically was made by International, I believe in either 1931 or 1932, I’d have to check. But if you look into the organ “rolls,” let me know if that’s what you think it is!
Here’s a video of one of the organs I’m talking about, skip to where it’s showing the player part, and see if it looks similar! m.ruclips.net/video/3nqbSZzDiKg/видео.html&pp=iAQB
@@IsaacTEdson hi thanks for answering me .. I own 6 of various music similar to this one in the video you sent me ... I found them in a house inherited from a relative of mine .. there was no instrument to play them ... if you give me your whatsapp contact I will send you the photos of these of mine and we can deepen our nice discussion .. thanks
@ I forgot, I can't find the name of the tool you kindly showed me, nor the name of the roller in question... thanks
@ I don't have whatsapp sorry, I have discord if you do, or if you could upload photos of them into a google drive, and give me the link to it I could probably tell from that!
The piano is dope
Definitely 😎
Pretty good!! Try to drop your jaw and open your mouth more while singing. You’ll be able to get louder and have a more supported sound. (Apologies, I’m a choir/music theatre kid)
Haha no worries I was in chorus last year too, I’ll definitely keep it in mind!
Mi piace molto il primo disco e mi piacerebbe acquustarlo
Nice and bright, that's a true American upright right there, sounds awesome!
Original arrangement? Certainly! The tune was written in 1918, might be one of the most arranged tunes going into the 1920s and then into the 30s, I think its popularity died off by the 1940s though. I still play it once in a while, it's fun to play in the style, Teddy Wilson did a wonderful recording of it in 1947! :D
It’s definitely one of my favorites! Oddly enough my favorite version of it is nowhere near the original style of the song: That being The Kirby Stone Fours arrangement in 1958 I believe, I heard it on the radio when I first bought and started working on my car (‘77 Cougar), and I had to stop working just to listen to it! Ha. I haven’t been able to find any version of it by itself, only as the last song on an upload of the album it was part of (Baubles, Bangles, And Beads), and even that took an hour or so of trying to find it based solely on the title and year it was made!
@@IsaacTEdson Yeah that's like me trying to find out who wrote South (which I found was written by Bennie Moten in 1928). When the title is one word and you don't know when it was written it's impossible to figure it out online quickly XD
@@PiotrBarcz Never heard of that song I don't think, I'll have to check it out!
@@IsaacTEdson It's a good one, Buddy Merrill made the coolest recording so far in my opinion
That was pretty enjoyable. Well done. A few years back, I saw Volbeat do their version and it was AMAZING! But I have never been able to find a video of them playing it anywhere. You're doing great, kid.
Thank you so much!
And I never heard of that version of it, but if you ever find it let me know and I’ll give it a listen!
👍🏽 Happy New Year
Happy New Year!
Apologizes for the shaky camera, I guess I didn't have it set up securely!
I adore my 100 yr.old player! She came with 1600 rolls! I named her Zelda!
I named mine Hydra, because when I was first fixing it up, every time I solved one problem, two more showed up 😆
If you watched the last video with this song, let me know which version you like better!
Хорош)
Can you sing that in English please. Thank you
Rude much? I think it sounds wonderful!
Just posted the other version I recorded that day, check it out!
White Christmas is my favorite Christmas Movie! What’s yours?
Probably Home Alone, never got around to watching White Christmas, but I finally got the DVD so I'll do it sometime!
👍🏽
Shades of Leon Redbone, check him out 😎😎👍
Just did, definitely a cool dude!
Me: Mom can I get a banjo? Mom: We have a banjo at home The banjo at home: 😂
It’s not called a mandolin rail for nothing! Ha
@@IsaacTEdson Indeed! Though I was talking about the arrangement in general 🤣Banjo players do that repeated note tremolo thing all the time.
Hey this is a Milton just like the one from the Sutter Creek ice cream emporium! My Francis Bacon is identical in every respect to this one too pretty much :D It's funny how many Kohler & Campbell stencils there are on RUclips!
Interesting that the power switch is mounted into the spoolbox, usually they're under the keybed.
Yeah, the electric motor was added sometime in the 60s, and the piano was built in 1919/1920, so I guess whoever did it just didn’t know exactly what to do, or just thought it was more convenient that way, unfortunately the patent dates plaque and all that that’s usually right where the button is has been lost to time, so it was really difficult to find out exactly how old the piano was
@@IsaacTEdson Yeah it looks like an old installation but heck it works well! Sounds like it was rebuilt fully in the 70s or maybe even the 80s considering how well it plays. What's the serial number? My Francis Bacon is from 1927, a friend of mine has one from 1928 (A K&C but still the same piano since they made F & B, Autopiano, Milton and god knows what else) so I'd suspect this piano's from around the same time period judging by the case and finishing of the stack.
The serial number for mine is 145770, the way I found out it’s from either 1919 or 1920 is because I found other Milton’s online who’s years and serial numbers fell between them, (135614 for 1919, and 160014 for early 1921), but there really isn’t a whole lot of information online about Milton’s from my trying to find it out, it took a good amount of time before I even found those two!
@@IsaacTEdson I just checked the numbers myself. Confirmed Milton was a K&C stencil name through the Pierce Piano Atlas but what doesn't add up is the serial number. It's placing the piano around 1912 to 1913 when the double valve action was still standard! That's really odd. It's definitely a 1919 model though if we're going to make a realistic estimation though I still feel that's awfully early for the single valve standard action.
Nice! What's the clicking noise by the way? Is that just the drive transmission clunking a bit?
Yeah probably, I’ll have to fix it one of these days, but I’ve learnt to tune it out by now so I keep forgetting lol
@@IsaacTEdson Probably isn't a big deal but any repeated friction like that obviously isn't good for the system in the long term but it's not a life or death situation ;)
@@PiotrBarcz Yeah you're probably right, I'll try to fix it now that I'm posting these videos with them!
@@IsaacTEdson Well I'm definitely looking forward to some more recordings regardless if there's a clunk or not, the piano sounds great! :D
Yay!!! You have a great voice for this song!
Thank you so much!!
Nice
Motor started acting up a but at the end, ha, but it's nothing terrible
Sounds great! My god the player piano youtubers are making a comeback, we've got so many new folks coming in :D
I sure hope they do! Ha. I've had this piano for a couple years now, but never really thought to post them until now, so I'm glad so many people are enjoying it!
@@IsaacTEdson Keep it up man! Nice quality recordings, we need more!
Cooooooool ❤❤❤❤❤😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!!
Yknow, can see/hear some mistakes and off-tempo notes but overall love the style you are going for and can totally vibe with it! :D Keep improving and continue the great work! :D
Yeah I didn't want to drive my folks crazy playing it over and over until it was perfect, so most of these are first or second attempts, ha, but in the future I definitely plan on making better versions with all the wrinkles ironed out!

Cool 😎
And very cool first name as well 😎
This looks like an Atlas roll, which was a company with many great arrangments...... This looks like it was made by the same company just with a different name. Fantastic arrangment! Thanks for posting!
That's super cool! And you're welcome!
You are the chill guy
😎
❤
Such a beautiful song!
I agree, it’s one of my favorites! I have a recording of me singing it with the piano I’ll post sometime soon, but until then, I also have just the piano roll posted, if that’s something you’re interested in
@@IsaacTEdson Yes! You should post the one of you singing. You’re such a good singer
Merry Christmas!!! Love this!
Merry Christmas!!!
you`re good! just little moment. your piano sounds like it isn`t tuned. maybe it`s your style, but in wright tuning sound is much better. no hate, just friendly advice
Yeah, I have the tools to tune it, just haven’t gotten around to it yet, ha. It’s good enough for now though, especially considering the piano is 105+ years old! And no offense taken! And thank you for the compliment!
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you too!
This is so cool!!!
Glad ya like it 😄
