No worries! It's a difficult shape working in there, so you are not likely to use pieces of chopped strand matt that will cover the entire area all the way from one side to the other. You are more likely to cut the chopped strand matt into different sizes and put some centred, some left and some right with them over lapping each other as you put them on. So you will probably end up with the layers being 4-5 deep in the very centre where you put your tow hook and then it might only be 1-2 layers deep on the widest part that you go to. No worries and yes that point is really difficult. I researched it and I believe the correct way to do it would be to strip out the reverse gear unit and some other parts. I’m pretty sure I used a fishing knife to make 2 x cut aways (1 on either side) just big enough to poke a spanner through there to get to the nuts. It was a year ago now, so it’s not completely fresh in my mind. I’d guess 14mm or 12mm as the Japanese don’t typically use 13mm as that could be unlucky.

It does take some getting your head around and seem expensive. But several other brands tried to come into this market in the recent years and you wouldn't want to own one of the other brands, even if it was a quarter of the price as noboby else have made anything near the Quality of Jetsurf yet. I've been to the factory in the Czech Republic and met the owner and team there, it's super impressive. I've also used these boards for years and used them in some of the most hostile places in the world and I blows my mind how the boards can cope with it. Of course I also agree, that it would be even better if they were more affordable!!

from my research, its hard to scale this product to make it affordable because it is so niche. In the past 5 years tons of smaller companies have come and gone ultimately dying to small profit margins in a very small market. I would like to see a kit for DIY builders. Everything you need, but you to build it yourself, perhaps reducing costs for the company and customer. There are tons of videos on YT of DIY builds. Sure, they may not be quite as good, but if its 1/4 of the price it becomes somewhat affordable. At $10k minimum US it remains a luxury toy

Sure it’s far less hassle and less fuel cost without the supercharger. The FX HO is very capable also. But on the inside of Nazaré a half a second on take off can be the difference between rescuing your surfer and both of you and the ski being nailed by the shorebreak 😭. I’ve come to realise that the supercharger alone is not enough and it’s also a good idea to have the twin Solas Prop and wear ring in perfect condition to also help with this. I was half a second too late on our October trip there and did get nailed 😱
