Harbor Freight 5 ton log splitter busting big rounds of dead white oak
My old back wont take wrestling the logs anymore. Most of my splitting is done alone. I ended up looking into the Gorillabac 3803 log lift that drags the wood to my splitter, lifts it and holds it when splitting. Got one and would never go to anything else. Really lets me get wood up that I could not do before. The prime big wood and gnarly stuff that doesnt roll is easy to get and split. It fits on my old Dirty Hands 20ton and sons County Line 34 ton looks like it will fit most any horizontal vertical splitters. Really affordable and easy to install. Plus Made in the USA too.
@@fredkalakay6164 Thanks for advice on Gorillabac 3803. My old back could sure use some help. Thinking that would make a good Christmas present for my wife. Lol
shit is gonna happen!
Happy to see that all safety equipment was worn.
very helpful
This looks like a toy compared with the Iron and Oak 30 Ton splitter I rented last weekend to split a couple of cords. The splitting head is about half the size of that one.
@@donmoore7785 Thanks for watching and the comment. The county line 32 ton is doing well so far. We just split a couple pickup loads so too early for a good review. We have a lot of oak and some hickory down from hurricane Helena so more videos to come.
Since the election is fresh on our minds, I’d like to see Virginia 276 do a little Trump dance.
@@markspencer1836 Keep watching for the next video, you might just see it. Lol
@@virginia2762it would probably resemble a bowl of jello on a warped washing machine.
I have the same saw and love it! after using an old Poulan Pro for years and going to this was night and day difference!
@@Johnybusa1 I still have my old Poulan Wood Shark that I used for years. Poulan is a good saw but no comparison to the farm boss. Thanks for watching.
When did you get the new toy?

Your very welcome. Thanks for watching.
😂
Appears to me that Virginia 276 is only a camera man and a pickup truck driver. Didn’t see much work from him on this one.
Good teamwork
Just bought one and used it on a huge pine tree i just cut down. Was very impressed it split 20” plus logs no problem
Don't take the vent plug completely out. You can get dirt or small wood pieces in the hydraulic tank and ruin things.
Very nice rifle better than my 06
Thanks for making this vid.
Second video in a row with a dull chain. If nothing else I’ve learned to keep at least one extra sharp chain on hand. I’m really trying to see what saw to purchase
Extra chain is great idea. Thanks for watching. Saw purchase depends on what you are using the saw for and how much you plan on using it. The Farm Boss is a good saw but for small wood a smaller saw does real good. I have two small saws. The Farm Boss is the biggest I have so can't say much if you need a bigger saw than that.
@@virginia2762 Thank you for the feed back. I don’t really need a saw, but my buddy bought a farm and he needs to cut down a few trees that are maybe 12 inches wide

What year is this truck ive been wanting one
Buy a file! Sheesh. Stay safe
Thanks
Using a ms 170 on that big of a tree to cut it up wow. And you are killing that saw with that dull chain
Thanks for watching. Dullest chain ever. Got a big black gum tree going to cut tomorrow but with a sharp chain. 👍
@@virginia2762 I heard that stay safe
Adding a ram stop would stop the ram from returning to the end and can easily be installed and adjusted to the length of wood being split.
Nice, but it takes 2 people to operate.
Yes that is a safety feature that makes it harder to operate. I would think it is safer to keep one hand on the wood to keep a piece from flying out. But with two people it does work well. Thanks for the comment.
I added a piece of pipe to the lever so i could control the ram with my knee. Works great
😊thanks
Why doesn't his wife sharpen the chain while he's dicking around with the hammer an wedge 😂
I just checked the oil in my ryobi 4 ton electric splitter after using it for about 10+ years-several hundred hours of use. Never checked it before, oils between the two marks on the dipstick and still looks brand new. 😊
Good video thanks for sharing. I saw you're sharpening .325" chains. Can you also sharpen 3/8" P with the same disc?
I think so but not 100%. Thanks for watching. Good luck. It does good for the money.
What would cause the ram to go forward to split a log but then it won't return. It stays all the way forward. The hydraulic oil level is where it should be between the lines. After 3-4 hours with the splitter upright, the ram will return 2/3 of the way back and stop. Before I go buy a new one, maybe there's an easy fix that I'm not aware of.
Have you got the vent open? I have never had that problem so not going to be any help. Sorry about that.
Nice truck but you don't gotta put people's lives at first that's just foul
😢No puedo con este sentimiento❤. Hermosa canción 😍, pasarán los años y seguirá siendo hermosa 😍

Yes it's very painful. Thank for watching.
I think this is brilliant
This woman needs to be quiet. She has no clue...
Woman saids, Thanks for watching.
So informative. Thankyou.
Hi, by removing the bleed, vent screw, you have higher risk of contamination being drawn into the oil reservoir. Depending on ambient temperature of use, if below 40• F, a manufacturer recommends using ATF as the hydraulic oil. Honing the leading edge of the splitting wedge eases the load on the motor & pump. Great tool 😊.
Thanks for watching. Had a comment from a viewer after the video to only crack open the vent we been doing that and it works great. Only thing is with big wood we bent the vent plug but it still closes. Been meaning to put out a follow-up video on this great little splitter.
Sharpen that chain brother! You're wasting time and making the situation more dangerous..
Wow❤
Ever shoot any trophy bucks or you mount every thing u kill?
All my Deer are Trophys. These are the ones that have Special Stories. I need to tell the Stories sometime. Thanks for watching. I got a good jerky recipe on tiktok.
Good luck with your Ruger. I think that you will love the 7mm-08. Great caliber and it doesn’t beat you up!
Nice
I plug mine directly into my Honda 2000 generator in the backyard. I use a clamp to hold down my start button so the electric motor is always on. I split over 2 cords of green-black walnut that were cut between 16 and 20 inches. The rounds were all that I could do to pick them up. Yes, it has its limitations but it's very rare that I had one that it would not split. I have the Earthquake W500 5 ton from TSC with a total warranty of 7 years. They are all about the same just a few differences and names. I got my money back already. :)
Suggest that you monitor the temperature of the motor, as not rated for continuous use. Some people modify control by adding a foot switch, which would allow heat dissipation between strokes. No liability accepted.
What bar mount style is that.
what's the brand/model?
5 Ton Harbor freight
@@virginia2762 thanks!!
For $300 what more could you want. A trick for bigger logs is to split towards the edge not dead center.
Drive me nuts watching someone cut with a dull chain
take that to an outdoor range, thats to much for an indoor range.
Clearly not if that’s a package they offer.. soft little boy
