Well, tried again and this time found most of it but there are no signposts or yellow tape anymore. You can just make the trail out by following the footsteps of previous walkers.
I don't think this walk exists anymore as there are no markers as shown in the video. I presume it has been taken over with bike trails. I have tried twice to find it and ended up finding two wooden crossings over the stream but then got quite lost and I know the forest very well. Would not recommend trying this walk.

Having quite a bit of experience with a wiral. You have to really crank the cable tight. And have it high up. Start it about 2m from the tie point it will cut out a lot of the bouncing. When I used it I was using a osmo x5r it was dropping a lot

Tom, thanks for the video.. I have watched about 4 different ones and the video captured seems to be lower quality. Is the gopro having problems getting sharp footage while in motion? It looks "blocky" Any thoughts? I really like the idea of what the wiral can do but my fear is that the footage will not be the quality I expect based on what i've seen.
Just got mine, so filming the next couple of days :-)

Do you have a video on your channel where you did the effect in the 9:11 min where a tree acted like a screen wipe, that was a cool effect? I have just started doing videos with my Gopro and learning how to use Adobe Premier.

Great video. I'm considering getting one of these as well. A couple of questions ( I couldn't find answers anywhere): - Does the control knob on the remote hold it's position (and maintain the speed of the Wiral) if you let it go hands-free? - Does the Wiral have an auto-stop feature when it reaches the end of it's cable run or does it just crash into the tree its anchored to and try to keep going? - Is the Wiral battery able to be charged by USB? Your dog is awesome! Cheers
As I haven't revieved mine yet I can try and field details from user reviews elsewhere. Also didn't realize how much I wanted the knob to hold it's position until you asked. One of the features for the Wiral is 'End stop assistant' which is a feature that lets you set custom stopping points, but you have to program them for each setup, which just amounts to push one button for your start point, run it along the rope to your stop point and press a different button. One review said that while it will stop it for you there is still a little bit of travel after it reaches it's stopping point, up to about 20cm in some cases. They said they are also including end stop clips which slip over the line and use tension from sliding against the rope to stop the unit from hitting anything at the end of the run. Not sure if it's a break or if it derails it from the line causing it to dangle rather then keep rolling forward. Maybe Tom can confirm these features? As there are no mechanical switch bumpers it would be awesome if they added a software update for a ping pong mode that worked with the programmed stopping points.
The Adventure Biker only on time lapse does it continue without holding knob. It has digital end stops you set. No usb charge u have to take battery out. Got mine today. Has three setting normal sport and time lapse
@@robertnorvell1580 Thanks for the reply! Too bad it can't be set to operate in normal mode hands-free. That would be a very useful feature. I wonder if there is a way to rig up some sort of "friction holder" to hold the control knob in a certain position. So the only way to charge the battery is using a wall plug charger (even with the battery removed)?
The Adventure Biker yup gotta take battery out and charge. The connector is a little wonky between battery and unit. But I’ve not yet even used it so I’m super excited
@@robertnorvell1580 Please let me know how you like it once you've used it a few times! I'm interested in getting one of these to shoot footage of myself riding my mountain bike in wooded forest areas where I can't fly a drone without crashing.

Congrats! I should be getting mine in December. I am thinking about getting the 100m black rope from the website.
Any ideas yet for locking the speed or auto run? I am looking to use it for solo filming walk and talk interviews, so I am hoping that an auto function is in the future. I can always figure out some sort of clamp to lock the control in a low speed and put the remote in my pocket. Great footage! I will also be using it primarily with a Hero 6 and Karma grip, but I also have a Feiyutech WG2 with a wireless remote to try as well.

The Adventure Biker I think I might put a circle of Velcro on top of the speed knob, and one on the sides, and then use a small Velcro strap to connect the knob to the sides in any position. It should be enough to lock the speed control in place.
@@crawfordjacoba So the control knob is spring loaded and returns to the stop position by default?
The Adventure Biker I don't have the unit yet, but I think that is the case with a spring loaded control knob that returns to position when released. I looked at the specs, and the timelapse mode is auto, but it's very slow of course.
