My problem is mine won't spin at all! Even though I've had this mixter for a while I haven't even used it probably 15 times if that much! The light will come on but it will not move at all. When I got it out the other day and first tried to start it. It did try to move and it was very fast that it threw my batter out everywhere then it stopped. It seems like it wants to move but something is preventing it from doing so. it still looks like it just came out of the box,that's how nice it is and well kept.

My mixmaster died and the sunbeam service center told me it cannot be repaired. It turned out that my thermal switch was burned up and it is not resetable, I replaced it with a self reseting thermal switch and it works like new again.

A impact gun and some deep well sockets would have made this job 50% easier. And no torque wrench to torque the nuts to the proper specs?

Anyone have a part number and correct name of the retainer clip for beaters? The mixer I am working on the one beater keeps falling out.

Thank you. That fixed it. Having gone in there to fix the mixer, my guess would be that the magnetic on the ring weakens in its magnetic field over time. This combined with the obscenely large air gap results in a poor signal being sent to the control board. By pushing the sensor closer to magnetic ring it reduces the air gap and gives the speed sensor (a hall-effect sensor) a stronger magnetic field to read. Thus in turn giving a better signal to the control board. So again, thank you.

Most AC motors are reversible! Just because there is not a reverse switch on there does not mean it's not reversible. Many AC motors have a diagram on the motor showing how to reverse direction of the motor. Some really are designed not to be reversed. You have to take the windings out of the case and hook them up differently and put them back into the case. There's a video on those also.

You can also put a double pole double throw switch on that drill press right where it connects to the capacitor! Even a regular residential 4way wall switch also work. That's what I used on my drill press. A four-way wall switch will change direction but it does not have and off position. You can add a regular on and off switch for that purpose.

I sometimes use mitrax very interesting little operating system. Always wanted to install it on USB drive. Thank you John it is now on USB drive. All I have to do now is get printing going.

Thanks for this video. Couldn't figure out how to get into my 2594 Mixmaster and this showed me. Just wish my plastic front cover snapped on/off as easily as yours. I thought I was going to break it both times. If some ambitious Chinese place wants to clone those plastic worm gears for the beaters, I doubt I'd be your only customer. Thanks to one of them, my mixer is now a paperweight. I don't know what good it does having sacrificial plastic gears there if you can't actually obtain one when it breaks, but I guess we're not supposed to be going inside the crap anyhow. Take Care

Yeah, why would you want to add yeast if this is a sourdough using wild yeast. Sourdough is more healthy. Anyway, thanks for your time in showing this video.

Thank you for the simple explanation of each step. I got stuck on the upper nut of the Sway Bar link. I had to purchase a T-40 tip to prevent the bolt from turning. My second problem was removing the rusted plate holding the brake line (located towards driver). I noticed you removed the rusted plate with bolt pushing it towards you. Will continue tomorrow. There are plenty of recipes using the bread machine, adding both starter and yeast. Then it’s done start to finish. No need to do what you are doing.

This can be done all Sourdough, no yeast and if measurements were done correctly, it could work. I will experiment this. After mixing on “dough cycle”, stop cycle and let dough ferment 6-8 hours. That’s the bulk fermentation. Start machine, “dough cycle”, just to collapse dough. Then do “bake cycle” with a 3-5 hour delay. This is to proof and it goes into bake. I’ve seen a few of these videos, but none do the whole method to bake using the machine. It might work. I’m a home bread baker and make sourdough the manual way.

That's a good idea. Just put an on and off switch in the circuit that goes to the start capacitor. The cheap Westinghouse motor on my drill did not have a start capacitor, nor did it have any wiring directions or directions for reversing rotation. Check where the power wires go inside the shell and see if there are wires to reverse that come out of the windings. if there is you might be able to reverse the direction of the motor just with a switch.
