      Hi! It’s good to be back! Primrose was never going to be a service prospect but as I’ve gotten to know her I’ve learned her personality. She would HATE being a service dog. Oh No giving your dog raw egg is not healthy. What if you got a batch of eggs that were contaminated with e coli or salmonella. Please cook your dogs eggs. My best friend is a veterinarian. She would have a fit if she saw this. I am 57yrs old and have had dogs in my life since birth. Never give a dog raw eggs , avocado or chocolate, grapes..... Please... If my uncle the best dog trainer ever was still alive he probably pitch a fit. I would never give my diabetic medical alert service dog raw eggs. EVER.

    I have been using a diabetic medical alert service dog for 12 + years. My dad had a service dog b4 I was born for deafness. My uncle was a amazing dog trainer. I have been training dogs all of my life since I could speak and walk. I am 57. My question is why are you using a metal collar around your dogs neck. That type of collar can cause trachea damage to your dog. If your dog has been properly trained to walk correctly you don't need that collar. The Halti or gentle leader head collars are more humane and healthy for any dog . My last two dogs have only used body harnesses since they were 6months old. I also use a rolator Walker with a seat. My dog is attached to my waist. But 90percent of the time he is off leash. I don't need a leash to control my dog just my mouth. My dog will not leave a heel position until I tell him to . I am surprised your veterinarian didn't give you hell for using that type of metal collar.

    • @coloradoservicemutt
      @coloradoservicemutt Год назад

      Again, I didn’t ask for your advice. I used a properly fitted prong collar which are safer for dogs than flat collars. Please do not question my dogs training, that’s incredibly disrespectful. Gentle leaders can actually cause neck damage if used incorrectly. You stick to your dog I’ll stick to mine.

Getting treatment for my mental and physical health and allowing myself to ask for help with things I find difficult, even if I don’t really understand why I seem to have more difficulty with these things than other people, and getting on disability support payments so that I don’t have to worry how I’m going to feed myself since I can’t get a job, has also made a huge difference to my peace of mind. Sounds like you guys had a really fun time that’s awesome that she did so well do you have any tips on desensitizing? I’m trying to work with my dog and becoming less sound sensitive. She does the same thing when she gets really tired whenever I stop even if it’s just for a minute she lay down and not want to keep going and sometimes it takes me a while to notice to.

      Take it slow and use lots of high value treats!

      @@coloradoservicemutt right. Do you have any advice on ways to make the dog feel safe environment they find scary. I was hoping simple and yes slow exposure along with treats that re hi value would do it but I think I need a more specific approach.
