I saw John Fahey in Los Angeles in 1969 on Melrose Blvd. Wow ! What a performance. Love his music every since. I have bought records and cds. I was sadden when I saw in the paper he passed in 2001. What a unique musician. Probably shy because he never look at his audience. He was an American individual who loved his music. His music was created with love.

I had completly forgot about this album, and then randomly came back to me when I saw a beach boys vinyl. It has been years, I still love it. Can I get a Spotify release?

My father bought this Lp . Grew up listening to this until the record became unplayable. Fantastic to hear it back in original form. To me Yepes is the greatest of them all.

Regardless of what has been written, Part 1 could not have been a realized 45 back in FEB67: It's very doubtful Bri would have throw away an entire minute of a 3-minute single to the fade out. Worse, is Part 2 -- which is nothing more than careless mish-mash of various fragments that do not transition in a musical manner. Based on what Bri was doing at that time ('66-'67) he would most certainly have not issued such an atrocity. No-way Ho-zay on that on, Rhonda.

John Fahey was one weird person. I first heard his self taught modal music in the late '60s. I was both mesmerized and very pleased. As an autodidact he did "everything wrong" ! He tuned his guitar in an unique way. He never learned to strum, starting out with finger picking. But, Oh how he came out with such exquisite music. Saw him live only once, at Maxes Kansas City in NYC, 1979 or very early in '80. He came out with his guitar and a folding chair, his head down. Sat. Never once made eye contact. Picked his instrument almost with a caress, sometimes resting his head on it. Never made eye contact. What Music He Made. Played for 35-40 minutes. Never made eye contact. Finished. Vanished. Now you may think that this is the end. It Is

It's 2024, and TPC just announced they are calling it quits. You listen to this album for the first time in 10+ years. Memories from high school wash over you, a blanket of comfort tinged with a hint of sadness. thank you for the tunes.

Lovely recording and a very well cared for piece of vinyl, I reckon! I just wonder why Yepes didn't start the Magic Flute with the introduction, which is a fantastic overture to the piece proper. Most transcriptions include the introduction, so I guess we'll never know why Yepes left it out. Segovia did the same. I'm sure there's a reason, but will we ever discover it?
