Going back to the dream I had as a young woman was the best move I ever made. It took time to figure out the path and get over my insecurities. But I went from feeling “stuck” to getting a book deal, becoming a Recording Academy member, and going to the GRAMMYS in 2025. And I am feeling better than ever. It’s not always easy, but feeling a sense of purpose and finding my tribe makes a huge difference. I don’t feel alone anymore. We are in it together! Thanks for the interview.

This interview was a lot of fun. Laurie's crazy humor and honesty about midlife are so refreshing. And we can all use a little snark sometimes, right? So, here's my question for you: If you could give your younger self one piece of advice about aging, what would it be? I'll start. I think I'd tell my younger self, "Holly, embrace every moment. Don't worry so much about the future or dwell on the past. Age is just a number, and the best is yet to come!" Now it's your turn. Share your wisdom in the comments and help others navigate this chapter of life!

Thank you for this. Peri menopause was hell for me! Now that I am done and through menopause I have most definitely become invisible. I went dark for a bit and then picked myself back up. I write in a grateful journal every day, meditate, forced myself to work out 4-5 times a week and got bioidentical hormones which saved my life! I am better than I have ever been and refuse to be invisible. Keep going everyone, one foot in front of the other and we can get there together.

I completely connect with what you're saying. It takes a ton of work and commitment to yourself. Sounds like that's exactly what you're doing. That ‘dark phase’ though can be really tough for so many women-and it's hard sometimes to see your way out. Your strength in picking yourself back up is inspiring.

I really loved having this conversation with Gail. One of the biggest takeaways from this episode for me was the idea that vulnerability is a strength, not a weakness. It takes so much courage to share our stories, but the rewards - in terms of healing, connection, and growth - are incredible. I'm working on embracing vulnerability in my own life, and I know it's not always easy. If you're willing, share one small way you're practicing vulnerability this week. I'll be cheering you on!

I think we need to have a really honest talk about our bodies. It’s not always easy to love what we see in the mirror, is it? We're told that weight gain and belly fat are just part of menopause, and we’re supposed to fight tooth and nail to get back to our pre-menopause shape. But… do we really have to feel that way? What if we could learn to embrace - and even celebrate - our menopause body, just as it is? How are you showing your body kindness today?

I've read about reframing. It's all about looking at a tough situation from a brighter angle. It's about spotting the good that might come from a challenge and seeing benefits you might not have noticed before. Hopefully, if someone is suffering from anxiety, they can find a solution that works best for them. Thank you for mentioning reframing.
