This always seems like too much work and yet when I don't do it, I regret it. My hair will be randomly pouffy and/or frizzy where the strands didn't get enough product.

If your hair is in spirals it is not wavy it is curly, you just have spirals of a large diameter

I can twist them into spirals while wet with prodcut and let them dry without clips or pins so that's an option. I will say that mine stand up a lot so I need to use a lot of gel or hairspray.

From what I understood from official categorization is when you have ringlets going on - that's curly, and wavey is literally waves. I see tight ringlets in this video. That's curly. Wavey is what my hair does most of the time, except the few ringlets once in a while and how it suddenly dried in full ringlets last week 😮

I think what cracks me up in all of this is people saying, “I have natural curls”. Define natural. You have to use certain towels, 2 and 3 products, wrap your hair around your fingers or a brush, scrunch it, diffuse it or air dry it, break casts. It’s just frustrating. And all the bantering that happens about it.

You're doing too much, type 2 Hair should not have any leave in products until the hair is dry and then you only use a watery consitency hair cream or leave in conditioner to the few frizzy locks. If you continue using this method you will discover that sometimes you don't need any styling product. To refresh just add the runny leave-in or hair cream on the few frizzy locks. Try treating your hair with light weight oils before shampooing.

I finally figured out what works for my 2C swavy hair that dries to a medium bob that looks curly from affar, but each lock is an "S" shape. Light oil treatment before shampoo are a great help (vegetable oil, almond oil, avocado oil) stay away from butter, even mineral oil works better. After shampoo and conditioner, of course the gentle kind no sulfates, silicones or harsh alcohols, rinse all the conditioner and don't put in any styling product. After hair thouroughly dries use hair cream on the dry hair only on the bit of frizzy locks if there are any. The only thing that works is a very runny styling cream or leave in conditioner that doesn't have heavy butter. With this method my hair looks full, not oily or weighted down. Don't over do the hair masks, make sure all products are always rinsed out!!!!

When i grew up you had curly hair if it wasn't straight. If it curled it was curly- simple. I hate how it's all been overcomplicated now, i thought the number classifications were great to get specific but the curl policing thing is really sad. We should just let people enjoy their hair and not quibble over definitions everyone has a different idea of ❤

My problem with diffusing is that in the end, I look like I slept on one side but it’s all the way around! I have 3b-4a curls that are all over so my hair isn’t consistent. Any one have any tips/tricks?
