How to Replace the Flow Sensor in your Stiebel Eltron Tankless Water Heater
Просмотров 22 тыс.2 года назад
How to swap out the flow sensor on your Stiebel Eltron tankless water heater. This is pretty much the same for all water heaters of this type. It's not super hard but there are a couple weird things that had me puzzled when I tried it for the first time. I hope this helps you! I should have mentioned that before replacing the flow sensor, you can try doing a "flush" to clean out the scale in yo...

i truly i appreciate your video, i just replaced mine easily following your video, you be blessed and thank you so much
Thanks for the video. Quick question: Does it take some time for all zones to activate and show the red light glowing when hot water is being created for the respective bathroom sink that was faulty before switching it out!?! Thanks in advance for your time! 😎🙏🏼
God bless you 😊👍✝️
Very cool idea!
Is it strong enough to make a table ?
Mmm, the legs would have to be thick, maybe 6". The top of the table, yes.
How do you replace the flow sensor on the trend 10
Great video all the info in one place that is been looking for!!!!
I'm glad it was helpful! Visit the FB forum and show us what you've made :)
@ which FB forum? There’s a lot 😊
@Finsandflowers its called papercrete crafting group. Search for it. See you there!
WOW!!! The algorithm found you for me and I’m so glad. I bought a bunch of cement products a few years ago but have procrastinated because I haven’t wanted to make stuff and fail, mostly because I live in high altitude where it snows up to 4’ - 5’ deep. I’ve heard of cement projects cracking up when exposed to snow so I figured there must be a certain recipe. I suppose diving in and just doing it would be a good start.
I'm glad it was helpful! Visit the FB forum and show us what you make. There are other users on there who live in snowy places. :)
Thank you, thank you! I need to make some large , Stonehenge, type rocks for a theatre set and I think this will be the way to go. Excellent tutorial, this is going to be fun!
Yeah, I think papercrete would work well for something like that. I might recommend using trash syrofoam as the core for a large sculpture like that, would make the final result lighter and be less work for you. Visit the FB forum and show us what you make. :)
@@DromNoms I will, I plan to film the project as it progresses
Thanks for sharing 🎉
Can you please make a video of how you made the large bowl that you are sitting in at 0:38?!?!!! Thank you!!!
It would be tough for me to make a video of that, but here's all you need to know: yoga ball. 😄
Did you add any additional water?
No, the paper pulp is wet enough.
Nice video. One issue leaves me perplexed. You say your stuff made of papercrete is durable, lasting forever. What makes me a bit baffled is that it is general technical standard that fibers added to concrete/ portland cement, such as fiberglass for example, must be "alkali resistant" fiberglass, so that it is not eroded by the highly alkaline cement. Wouldn't it also degrade paper fibers, so that they become fragile with time? Thanks!
I love the question. I'm not a scientist, so I have no freakin idea. But please let me know if you find out!
@@DromNoms I've been trying to find answers on this matter online, but can't find any so far. One problem that I did hear about was that paper in concrete can have its place, & serve as a way to use available, recycle materials. But it's best not to subject it to a wet environment, because the paper in it can make it susceptible to mold. I think if you waterproof it a bit, by soaking the paper in acrylic fortifier for concrete before adding to the papercrete, it would help, & so would a few coats of sealing. I think any fibers added to cement that are not alkali resistant, will eventually disintegrate & leave dust in their place. However, if you have added enough additional aggregate, such as perlite, it won't matter. But if you only have paper, cement, water, you could be in trouble if the paper disintegrates, because cement + water is not too firm. I'm not sure how long it would take to disintegrate. I have heard of people who used old clothing dipped in a very wet cement, instead of paper, & the fibers disintegrated. However, they clearly also had way too much water, to have such a wet cement, so who knows what the real problem was. If you have had pots hold up long term for you, that alone will tell you a lot.
How can a drainage hole be made into the planter?
Poke it in while it is still soft. Or if you forget, drill it later.
I’ve heard that you should wear a respirator if you drill it, as shown but not mentioned in the video (no shade)
well done. I think they make a microfine fine cement with very fine sand. wold be easier to polish and create, preserve fine details. and they have polymer cement for strength and water proofing. gives me ideas. still...very well done!
Awesome video on the topic of papercrete!
What was the heater not doing that pointed you to the flow sensor?
I just did this repair and my hot water heater is working perfectly again. A plumber and electrician both told me to just replace the whole heater. So thank you for this video and link to purchase the part!
2 DHF-Pegelsbomben hintereinandergeschaltet im großen Stiebel -Eltron Doppel-DHF!
I have an Temra 29, been a GREAT unit for over 15 years no issues. I have 3 of these I'm going to replace, and put in a new input plumbing piece later this weekend. Not hard units to work on.... when I turn on hot water, all the lights in the entire neighborhood dim. 150 amps. LMAO! "HONEY why are the LIGHT DIMMING?" "It's OKAY, the BARNHARTS are taking a SHOWER!" "Oh GOOD GOD, Mrs. Barnhart takes over an hour in there everyday!" "Put on the mining hat I brought you for Christmas for the times they are showering!" "Oh thats a great idea honey, thank you!" "You welcome, just DON'T RUN the hair dryer, we don't want to overload the electrical grid and blow out the transformers and be without power for the next day."
My hot water pressure is very low. I by-pass the water heater and the pressure is fine. Can the flow sensor be the cause?
could be the flow sensor. more likely the filter screen, given your description. ruclips.net/video/vxmW-BZJEnY/видео.html
Thank you. I just replaced the flow sensor on my Tempra Plus, 9 years old, and although it's an easy job, it's nice to see someone do it first. Especially the part about lifting the right side to disconnect the top part of the sensor. Mince had two screws to loosen first. Worked like a charm. Cheers!
Came home today to no power to unit. Reset breakers and no luck. Tried the reset buttons inside with no luck. When your flow sensor died did your tank still show it had power? Or was it not lighting up at all? Thanks. Great video.
Hey, what did you find to be the issue with yours? I just came home to same problem.
Where can I order the sensor?
supplyhouse.com
Do you know if the flow meter can be bypassed? It seems if you don't have enough flow, it won't signal for heat. As others have noted, some water appliances seem to not have enough flow rate. So multiple points of use must be on. Thx.
Where can I order the sensor please? Great tutorial!

Hi, my hot water comes on if I put on the bathroom shower and my bathroom sink only…would this cause that issue? Seeing that it’s more flow? If it’s the shower alone, there is no hot water
I don't know. Call Steibel tech support. They're great.
Hi where did you buy the sensor?
supplyhouse.com
Just want to ask, is the flow sensor responsible for the hot water flow? Thanks.
Yes. If it can't sense the water flow, it doesn't activate the heating element.
Nice technique at 2:08 ;) Thanks for the tutorial.
Covering with cloth and latex paint makes it quite hardy and resilient to weather...
Cool video! I greatly think you If I would be allowed... concrete gets strength from it's aggregates. I would suggest sand, concrete, and concrete bonding agent for final resurfacing. Will produce a stronger but sandy finish. Spray da adhesive + water on sculpture plus add a glue of adhesive to topping mix. I've tried ot without the sand, the Portland fluffs off, little staying strength.
I think your frog turned out wonderful and I love the way you talked us through your video great video
That frog looks great !!
I imagine a mortar mix with fine grain sand would make a more durable skin than just portland.
Heh, you brought out the sawsall, and I thought 'oh here we go, someone's gonna lose an eye! ' but no. It was surprizing to see how well it worked. Glad you didn't lose an eye, you just keep on with that. Thanks! :-)
Try it with a leaf blower, or an AC compressor, sans tank. Make video. Someone give him some money. I don't have any.
Heard you got a big project mmm: ruclips.net/video/6PrwlEtlfS8/видео.html
I would really like to see more carvings
your air pressure control is the primary consideration for the bubble distribution in your product; the secondary consideration is the steel wool substrate (is it uniform, stepped, or uncontrolled ?) and the third is the brand (formulation) of soap (assuming you are using at least a decent foaming soap).
Awesome!! Ive been watching dome homes and doing my first epoxy sculpture (doberman) I was totally wondering about this!! Do lots more!!
frogs are great.. use plaster of paris to finish the frog off. the frog is a winner.
I want to use it for a large rocket stove..
Maybe you can extrapolate information from the Honey Do Carpenter channel. He used it to make a smaller rocket stove.
@@yzetta Thank you I'll try..
what will happen in the winter when water freezes.. but as an insulater it should be ok.
I used a blender to approximate a foam slurry and it does not set up very quickly... in theory it should work without air compressors. But having very limited success.
Does anyone have the ingredient amounts in metric units?
Use some synthetic fiber in Air Crete.
higher psi makes smaller bubbles making better aircrete. that is why you have bubbles that are not nice. increase your psi to 90 and yur bubles will be better.
