I'm currently a student at WWU and I love climbing, birding, and being outdoors.
Slurpee V4 - Lost Ledge Bouldering
This is an old send from a few years ago, but still one of my favorites! A powerful first move leads to incredible climbing on credit card crimps and dishes.

What was the point in all that 😭
INSANE!!! 😱😱😱😱
just realized it has the alternate toxic shock start
hell yeah new jefferson content
notice me 🧎♀️
What was the point in all that 😭
This looks super fun! where is this one at? did you give it a scrub and send recently?
it's just at the bottom of the hill near the bolted climbs, I'm sure you'd recognize it. I scrubbed it in the fall, but didn't send it then. The first move is pretty hard!
I was just thinking about this climb yesterday it’s fantastic!
It's so good. Last time i was there I totally unsent it, that first move is powerful!
I had the same thing haha, it’s powerful and i’ve also seen it be a barrier to shorter folks which is unfortunate.
Nice stopper placements.
WAHOOOO!
What a send!!!! Incredible work!
Thanks! It's probably closer to V6 if you mantle straight above the rail, but I think rocking over to the right was fair game, just a bit easier. What a sick boulder!
Nice video. I also shoot a lot of video at UBNA and other local parks.
Thanks! It's my favorite birding spot in the Seattle area. I moved to Bellingham for school so I only get to visit every few months unfortunately.
Good job ! Thanks for sharing
Thanks!
Nice video Jefferson.
Thank you!
When did you do this! is it on the goliath boulder?
This was with em this september, I was surprised by the quality of bouldering there, have you been?
I haven’t but i’ve always wanted to, let go soon
That pitch was way harder than it’s rated in my opinion. You had me glued to the screen and I couldn’t believe the skill you showed on those crux moves. Where you yelled “shit”, I would have been yelling ‘falling’. And even though I’ve been climbing for many years, I learn something new with every one of your vids that I watch. So thanks for taking us along with you on your adventures!
Nice work. You seem to have had less trouble with the cracks than the slab.
haha yeah, my slab technique could definitely use some work
@@jeffersonashby I LOVE seeing folks have fun and do well on lines I help put up.
@@tonkashouse Oh rad! It's a gem, I only wish the crack was longer, it's so good
Great work man. I felt the desperation of the shitting holds and feet at that 6.30 crux. I probably would have done a lay-backy beta too. I wonder if there is a more secure way?
I have thin fingers so some of the locks felt really insecure, but if I had better beta I think it would feel pretty chill
I was a little worried for you when you waved that number 2 into that flaring #4 #5 crack haha, but then you cruised the .11 cracks above. Nice work
Haha yeah, I totally brought the wrong rack for the first bit, thankfully it's really chill climbing :)
nicely done!
Thanks!
Well done, looks super fun!
It's a really fun route
Looked like there were opportunities for some good nut placements but maybe it’s a trick of the camera. How does it look in person?
You could definitely find plenty of nut placements
POV rock climbing videos should only be allowed if they're edited to be less than three minutes long ending in falls of more than twenty feet . . .
Respect man that second half is stout
Pretty sweet
Good work! Crack looked really fun! Would be cool if you included grades along the route name in the YT title :D
Looks very sweet! Thanks for sharing, definitely putting this one on the list!
it's a classic for sure!
where do you position your camera?
It's on my helmet
nice, good climbing indeed
Fiuu ! You made it dd ! 💥💪👍 Fit/oxygen demanding !! 👏 ❤ The ending !! Puk yeah !! 😦😁
crazy strength bro
For starters that is not a woman that is a man and he is not barefoot hes wearing juice
Really solid lead! Great gear placement and confident movement. Everything feels a plus grade harder when the wind's blowing hard!
hell yeah
Nice route
Nice job, don’t let anyone tell you your can’t do it, including yourself.
I love it, I’m right next to here I’ll have to try it!!!
I could understand this if your working for the Govt. but that's it. One day a very small mistake. That's it. Game over.
It's a nice display. Great example of technique and practical application.
That was intense. Nice job keeping it together!
What action camera do you have?
i use a gopro hero 9 black
Nice climbing!
Damn a tube balay device #barf haha
I love a grigri, but tube style devices work great
Scary
More Squamish please
Sick Onsight 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Putting a lot of faith in one piece. Carabiners unclip or cross load and break. A couple extra slings and that first stopper could have been left in. Extending the runner, increasing the chance of it staying in place, even better.
This was an onsight and a long pitch so I was trying to save slings, especially since I didn't know what I'd need higher up. I don't like to be reliant on only a single piece too much, but it was a solid placement and I was able to place a bomber cam only a few feet higher. Extending the sling could've made that nut safer, thats a fair point. I think my decision making was safe though.
@@jeffersonashby Definitely not saying you were not safe. And I know that it is easy to be critical while sitting on my couch.😀 Just a thought for new leaders that with slings and carabiners so light these days that bringing a couple more and backing up even a bomber piece after running out a easy section can be a good idea. Carabiners unclip or break if cross loaded. I watched my friend take a 40 footer and end up 5 feet from the ground when a carabiner decided to unclip. We learn from each other and apply it in the best way possible at the time.
Yeah, I appreciate the criticism. Complacency and overconfidence are the biggest cause of accidents, so its good to be critical and reevaluate my safety decisions.
Good lead. Solid decision making.
Except for the undercammed .4 and .75 that he placed early on. I wouldn't have even put body weight on those pieces. I would bet my rack on both those pieces ripping in case of a fall.
@@petlemons yeah, the crack really flared in the back there which made placements tricky. I knew the .4 wasn't great which is why I backed it up. I pushed the .75 into the constriction in the back, but rewatching the video it's a bit undercammed too. Tbh I think the .75 would have still held a fall, but it's definitely not a perfect placement. I'm definitely still learning and growing as a trad climber.
@@jeffersonashby We've all been there. It's all good, just remember that climbing past bad gear is just as useful as no gear. My comment was more directed at the commenter above not at you. I don't think it's a good idea to say it was solid decision making. If an even newer Trad climber comes around and sees that comment, they might think undercammed placements are fine. Hope you're getting out as much as you can. This fall weather has been making up for the wet beginning of the season we had
That spot where you placed the green alien, do you thing a blue totem or a blue alien could also fit there? Even perhaps a BD .3 z4? Just curious as I would really like to flash this one. AKA the thoughtnof falling without great gear gives me the heebee jeebees haha
I bet you could place a good blue totem in there, but i'm not sure if something larger than that would fit there. The gear right below that is really good though
