Watching on RUclips certainly may only give our online audience a glimpse to the reality of the story these engines hold, as well as the people involved! Thanks Rick, we are so happy to have her running again. She tops around 600 horsepower, when working she pumped 98,000 gallons every hour, raising the water over 450 feet. A true working beauty!

SPRUCE is indeed a work of art! We are very happy to be able to run our exhibits on steam as they should be.

The engine was donated to us on 2 conditions : first being that we would pay to get the engine extracted from the site, and second being that she would eventually be available to the public to view. Our founder Dr. Rowan Francis made the Museum and its entire collection a charitable trust in 2018 securing the future of the collection and to keep them preserved and running in steam for everyone to learn from and enjoy.
