I love Tilda and I’ve got loads of it dating back to 2012. I’ve been waiting for the ideal quilt pattern to use some of it and I saw the Alice Caroline Liberty 100 blocks quilt at the Festival of Quilts last year. I bought the book last month and I’m on block 18 using my vintage Tilda. It’s a great project, not only can you use scraps for it but it’s a great way to learn some new quilting skills.

I buy Headley Tools rotary 45mm rotary cutter blades from Amazon, and they are £20.66 for 15, always really sharp, and I have exactly the same cutter as you - so they definitely fir. Beautiful blocks 😍

I have broken so many needles with my 1/4 inch guild foot because I forgot to reset the needle to the middle. I leave a stick note on the front of the machine, to remind me and that works :) Love the laser + pen- that looks awesome.

Sew its a Bernina sewing machine you have but the laser accessory is from brother. Hello from ottawa Canada.

Hi Kath. Your log cabin blocks remind me that many years ago I started making log cabin blocks in shades of blue. Our bedroom colour scheme was blue at the time. With hindsight, it was too ambitious for a beginner. I then started a full time job which involved commuting and the quilt project got put away due to lack of time. About 30 years later I retired, bought a new sewing machine, and decided to join the old blocks together. Oh my word, anything that could go wrong did go wrong! It was a disaster. At one point I went outside to throw the whole thing in the wheelie bin! But the thought that I’d kept the project for 30 years made me retrieve it. In the end I cut it up into smaller sections and made a large hold-all bag and a couple of small quilts which my cat loved to sleep on. A sewing disaster but at least it went to use in the end. Hoping your foot will feel better soon.

Loved your video today. You can buy a spray for your quilting rulers. It's Odif Grippy non-slip coating. You can still see through it but it helps get an all over grip rather than the odd spots of grip. The larger ruler you was trying might need a light soapy wash for the grip to come back.

That lazer wand that you have with your machine is something I have never seen before. I don't think we had a machine with that wand. Prayers for a speedy recovery on your foot.

I got a good size ruler from home bargains for under £5 it's about 5 x 12

I really enjoy watching your videos. I'm not from anywhere glamorous, Doncaster in South Yorkshire. We have a quilt show at the end of August. I'm hoping I will be well enough to go this time. I am new to quilting. I made curtains and soft furnishings when I left school. Then I had 3 children and only worked part-time before owning my own café. Over the years, I have knitted and then learned crochet. Built up a huge stash of yarns. Then one day after school, my granddaughter went to the after school club. English Paper Piecing, she rang me on video call to show me. That was Jan'23. Her first class was quiet with 7 of them. The following week 19 turned up. The tutor was shocked and the ones who attended the first time got last pickings. So she rang me to help her. Oh my goodness, i had a box of hexagons in all colours ready for her to sew. I have been watching videos for the last 18 months, collecting fabrics, and far too many patterns. As soon as the cooler weather starts i plan to make my first full-size quilt. Hope you're foot heals well and I look forward to seeing your videos. ❤

I bought a lovely remnant which was rolled up. I did not unroll it as I thought this was frowned upon. When I unrolled it at home, it had snakes on it! Don’t know how I am going to use that. The colors are absolutely lovely, but not a fan of the snakes. Your fabrics are just gorgeous! Thank you also for the little peek at Cornwall. Some of my ancestors are from Cornwall, and I would love to visit one day.
