I don't ever want to do it again either. I had read about the through-the-firewall method and tried it. I couldn't get it out and had to do it the other way. Finding all the fasteners was the hardest part. The dash components went in easier than they came out.

For folks watching this you do not need to do all this. You can pull it from the firewall. When you disconnect the lines from the firewall you take out to Allen head screws grab it with needle nose pliers and pull it out. Then you just reverse.

What were the symptoms that made you aware it was the expansion valve?

You did one thing wrong, you forgot to put the temp sensor wire in position. You left it hanging low and pinched it. There is a notch in the evaporator cover that its supposed to sit in.

I did this job several days ago on a 2007 Civic. Just know that all the screws, bolts, and nuts are accessible, even though it looks intimidating. Slide the seat all the way back, sit where you can see up inside, and you'll find them. Great video. This guy had to cut some area out of the firewall but was an acceptable solution. Save you from pullng all the inside AC system apart. Always use a little oil to help o rings slide into their bore. ruclips.net/video/b4XgETsEWP0/видео.html

Thanks for the vid! just did mine and this helped me a lot. I was super confused at one point because I could not for the life of me find one of the blower motor bolts. Turns out the little speaker for the door/headlight/seatbelt chimes came lose and was hanging/stuck to the bolt i needed. Lots of other weird little issues this helped me through too. Thanks again!

Fantastic job. I bought a momo steering wheel and hub. I too have been looking thru yt on removal and installation concerning the srs airbag and horn wiring. Very few give detailed instructions on the later. Thank you for including the part number for that shoe horn. 🤙

Doesn’t sound like 3in would be to loud to daily. I had a fab shop turn me down and my 3in material/piping bc he didn’t wanna make my car lose power by going 3” header back, with resonator and muffler
