VIS Radio is a collaboration between media production studies and marketing. Through interdisciplinary workshops, students have gained an understanding of how to produce and broadcast compelling content while managing a brand.
As a media organization of filmmakers, editors, marketers, project managers, and audio specialists, students explored how to make an impact in their community through a social medium.
The project is at its midpoint and students will be showing their initial concepts for media channels, videos produced for their community partner, and some other projects they have been working on this semester. They have been working hard to put together an exciting exhibition, and we look forward to seeing you there!

The Shape of PBL
VIS PBL 2023 2024
The 12th graders in VIS Experimental High School were given the challenge of creating a documentary the 2023/2024 school year. The students were asked to follow the driving question of "How can we manage and use multi-media platforms to show how VIS values the voices of its students". We used this question to highlight the importance of a student's journey throughout the school year and how everyone has a different experience when it comes to PBL. Come along and share our journey!

From the examples you've shown in this video, I don't find it much different from any pop music. Sometimes these genres are just labels. The difference is very small.

As someone who has been trying really hard to learn the different genres and subgenres of popular African American music, this video has been immensely helpful. Definitely appreciated the explanation on the evolution of R&B from decade to decade. It finally made sense to me why contemporary R&B sounds completely removed from early R&B and deserves its own subgenre. I hope you continue to make more informative videos like this and please let me know if there's any way I can contribute to this project! 加油！
