Here's one I've been excited for an kind of addicted to scratching ever since i heard it. their turntablist Dj Hoax (Sebastian Räuchle) is fantastic as a rhythm section and a melody man. Their incorporation of turntables has allowed for them to create some gnarly earworms, check out "Twist my words" and tell me that the turntables during the bounce riff aren't catchy. Sorry for the long wait ya'll, summer has been busy and music projects tend to stack up. Here's a cover of Papercut's song Knife fight, the groove was so rad, i couldn't resist scratch over it. @@oliverbrown3961 how cheap are we talking here? I'd say Hercules make some good stuff for budget turntablists The Hercules inpulse 200, 300 and 500s are all fantastic for starters But if you want something similar to me, I'd say check out the pioneer ddj rev1, its designed in battle scratch style so it encourages turntablism rather than dj mixing.

This is awesome! I really want to get into scratching. Very underrated talent. The samples send a lot of these early 2000’s tracks to the next level.
When you do the DJ scratches, what track do you have playing out your decks? How do you get that kind of hiss sound?
can you timestamp this hiss sound? And to answer your question, Right deck (scratch samples from a vinyl rip_ Left deck (a mirrored version, iE, its the same sample set but with a different selected sample) The music/song is playing through my daw to keep me on track and i use rekordbox, the dj software to record the scratch as an isolated track to overlay the song which is on the daw.

@@tob8 my current decks are ddj rr's which cost $500 in mint (models similar to this and within this range of capabilities will cost around the same if not more) And yes it's difficult to learn but it's such a fun instrument I'd encourage everyone that can play an instrument to try the turntables. There's cheaper decks from pioneer/Hercules/Numark and other companies that run the same software rekordbox/djuced/serato.
