Hi Jenny, it really depends on the country you are flying to. In some cases the destination country requires proof that you are leaving eg. flight or bus tickets or bookings. This is usually checked at the departure airport when you are checking in because if you are denied entry at the destination the airline has to bear the cost of flying you back. We do some investigation first and if we are not sure then we book a 'really' cheap ticket online that we have no intention of using. We can show this if needed. There are also websites that you can a pay a fee to that will generate a 'ticket' that you can show. Requirements can change so we need to be vigilant. Recently we flew into Malaysia and needed to show proof of departure which was new. We'd never needed to do that before.

We found it very safe. No issues whatsoever and we never had a concern for our safety. The people there were very friendly. :)

@@LambiesTravels Thanks. I went there 25 years ago and it was totally amazing. But since about 10 years the Canadian gvt says to not go because of drug guerilla :(

@@missj.4760 we spent 5 months travelling around Mexico (including Mexico City and Guadalajara) and generally felt safe. Of course, like all countries, there are areas you should avoid and Mexico is no different. As long as you check about the places you want to visit before going then you should be OK.

Hi Yvonne, you simply take the receipt into the store and either get a cash refund OR you can use it as part payment for your grocery shopping. That is what we did - so €4.25 was deducted from our final bill. :) You can also donate the refund but we didn't investigate that.

Sharon, we did exactly that. I think that it must be a national initiative and that in some way there is no cost to the supermarket. I'll need to investigate. BUT at least it gets people recycling as there is a dollar/euro cost if you don't bring them back.

This system exist in almost all countrys in Europe. Some got different solutions. All companys and resellers for Softdrinks, Beer, water etc. are part of it and its standardized. So it basically does Not matter where you buy your beverage you can return it almost everywhere. Like you buy a Coke from the Gas Station, you can return it at Lidl, or different supermarket. The system will refund shops so there is no financial loss for them. I do not know how it works in Detail, but they figured it out somehow.
