Welcome to my channel! First of all, I want to apologize in advance for my speech. In real life, I stutter a lot, so in the videos I try to adjust my speech so that I don't stutter, but I am aware that even this way it may not sound pleasant, and for that I'm sorry. Anyway, I'm very glad you're watching the videos and I hope you like them and I'll try to improve my speech. Thank you!

Supprisingly, I see latvian description on package! LV Augsta spiediena dzīvsudraba spuldze In English it will translate to High pressure mercury lightbulb. In Russian it will be Ртутная лампочка высокого давления. By the way I live in Latvia!
Yes, the full name is High Pressure Mercury Vapor lamp (HPM).🙂
Mercury vapour lightbulbs, with pink glow at startup usualy have Yittrium vanadate phosforous coating. These lamps have cool white, when they are fully warmed up. Old type mercury vapour lightbulbs have different phosforous, that should glow orangeish color at startup and these lamps have green tint, when warmed up. I actualy have two types of these high pressure mercury vapour lightbulbs.
Yes, Yttrium Vanadate phosphor is the better quality one, which produces a red or pink light at the beginning, which then changes to a neutral white or even a slightly warm white light, while the older types, such as Magnesium Fluoro-germanate or Magnesium Arsenate, produce cold after heating the arc tube white light with a visible green tint and a worse color rendering index. I personally prefer Yttrium Vanadate.🙂
So sorry. Im not patience enough to listen to your uh... Slower speech. But anyway, can i ask quick question? Does this lamp need electricity? As far as i know, radium does not need an electricity to emitting a light So... I just have a wird idea, to use pure radium as light source or lamp. Is that a bad idea? Since i never seen radium thou, but i know where to find one
I lm so sorry. I play the vid on the background when i wrote this, and im not paying any attention to the vid. So i beg you, please do not refer any information in the vid Because i skip the whole vid, but i don't want to destroy your uh... RUclips... Retention... Rate? So i keep it played till the end in the background So sory, but please no. I cant hear your speech. Please dont
It's okay, I get it. Well, if I speak faster, then unfortunately I start stuttering a lot, because I have a speech impediment. That's why I always try to adapt the narration, otherwise it would be even worse. Well, I understand you and respect your opinion. And yes, this lamp needs electricity. Radium is only a brand that manufactures this Metal Halide lamp... Such as Osram, Philips etc... This lamp does not contain any Radium. It is a High Pressure Metal Halide lamp that uses a ceramic arc tube that contains a mixture of argon, mercury and metal halides in a precise ratio. And thanks to the magnetic ballast (where, in addition to the ballast, an external igniter is also needed), or the electronic ballast, the lamp lights up slowly and produces the resulting light.
Nice collection 👌. But I even have 700W Mercury vapour lamp!
Thank you very much. And congratulations, I don't have that strong, I only have 150 watt Metal Halide lamps.🙂
@Naguals_HID_Lamps I also have like 6 total 400W HPS lamps, One Philips Master HPI-T 450W, and few mercury vapour lamps ranging from 50W to 700W.
@@arnislacis9064 I saw some in your video (good video by the way) and they are really beautiful and I like the Metal Halide lamp from Philips which is 450W and uses a quartz tube.🙂
@@Naguals_HID_Lamps Thanks for your feedback 👌. I just couldn't get my self to make some more videos. Soon I will make new videos, if I don't forget 😊
@@arnislacis9064 If you shoot some, I'd love to watch.🙂And I also like that Mercury Vapor lamp. I wonder what type of phosphor it has... If it has yttrium vanadate phosphor, I believe it produces a beautiful red or pink light at first that slowly fades to white with a certain color temperature and color rendering index.
This lightbulb can be used to replace metal halide lightbulbs, because it is shining white color. For HPS replacement should be used LED with 2000...2700K warm white light. I am HID lamp collector too, I have recenlty found 5 working unused Soviet 400W high pressure sodium lightbulbs.
I agree. There are many Metal Halide lamps that are also 3000K. For example, my HCI-TT 70 W/830 SUPER 4Y lamps are 3200K, which is almost the same, but this LED replacement has RA 70, while the mentioned MH lamp has RA 80. So the color rendering index is better with this Metal Halide lamp and it is also smaller, lighter and last but not least it produces 8000 lumens, while this LED only 4200 lumens. And with a quality electronic ballast, this HID lamp doesn't flicker at all, while this LED replacement does a little. But on the other hand, this MH lamp has 80W, while this LED only 26W. But it is not always important that the lamp has as few watts as possible and there is always something for and something against... I also like some LEDs, but I prefer HID lamps. And to replace HPS lamps, which thanks to 2000K are excellent for lighting in fog, through which this very warm white light penetrates better than, for example, 4000K from an LED lamp (not to mention less light pollution), is quite difficult, at least Ledvance already makes an LED replacement that has less than 2000K. And I'm curious about her. And I'm glad that you are also a collector of HID lamps and those 400W HPS lamps must shine really brightly.🙂
Hi, how many lumens is this lamp
Hi, this 80W HQL DE LUXE (MBF-U) lamp has 4000 lumen.🙂
@Naguals_HID_Lamps Ok thank you. So do you think Osram 125 watt mercury vapor lamp has 5000 lumens?
@@vartex4488 125W HQL DE LUXE (MBF-U) has 6500 lumen, but RA is only 53 and not 55 as with 80w.
@@Naguals_HID_Lamps Okey Thanks
This green has an impressive output of about 210 lumens/watt compared to 100-130 that a simple LED filament has, generally I try to avoid LEDs except for filaments and mainly tude but I prefer only 3000-4000K but personally I still use fluorescents with electronic ballasts
Me too, I definitely like HID lamps the most. However, as a lover of lamp light as such, I do tests and use LEDs as well. But mainly Philips and Osram.

Yeah, nothing better than having a RADIOACTIVE Lamp for illumination. What were you thinking? Which Isotope are you using? The half-life of radium-226 is approximately 1,600 years. The half-life of a radioactive substance is the time it takes for half of its radioactivity to decay. Radium is a radioactive substance that is a decay product of uranium. It is found in almost all rocks and soils. Over time, radium decays into radon gas and eventually stabilizes as lead. The most common isotopes of radium and their half-lives are: Radium-224: 3.5 days Radium-226: 1,600 years Radium-228: 6.7 years
Radium is just a company name like Philips, Osram, etc.🙂
Nice lamp. Your way of speaking is painful though.
Thank you. And I'm sorry that listening to my speech is not very pleasant, but as I mentioned before, I stutter a lot, and in order not to stutter, I have to adjust the speed of my speech and my speech in general, because otherwise it would be even worse and it could sound like this: "Hhhhhello eeeveryone...". as Czech myself, I am very glad to see somebody from Slovakia presenting the NBB Bohemia Mercury Vapor lamp in English, I expect nobody behind the Middle Europe knows this local brand of bulbs/HID lampss, as Osram, Philips, etc which are known woldwide
I agree, and it's a shame, because NBB Bohemia seems to me to be a very high-quality brand. The only thing that makes me sad is that (but unfortunately this does not apply only to the Czech Republic) that there is more and more pressure on LED lighting and HID lamps are more and more in the background. And at the same time...
I have 11 of them lol
This led lamp is a perfect replica of HID oval lamps, here in brazil i've never seen, very interesting, I confess that I prefer HID lamps, but this LED in the video is so nice! Very good!
I agree my friend, this LED lamp looks like a real HID lamp, but it is quite a bit heavier than the original HPS lamp in the video, it is also bigger, has less lumens, shorter lifespan and is not dimmable. But it doesn't need any ballast, just the mains and it lights up very nicely and most importantly, it looks almost like the original... However, I also prefer real HID lamps. Well, I'm glad that they try to produce LED replacements that at least resemble the original as much as possible. That's good news.🙂
Hello 😊

Hey Nagual, have you ever heard of a company called Sylvania ? There obsolete now but they made a par 38 mercury lamp a bit back 100 watts ?
Yes, I know the Sylvania company and I have one High Pressure Sodium lamp from them, which is 70W. But I don't have another one of them yet.
That's cool, I have 11 Sylvania Par 38 lamps, I'm trying to sell one or too but I can't because no ones buying lol
@@DanielGreen-z4l You have a nice collection.🙂I personally don't collect the PAR38 type Mercury Vapor lamps, but Mercury Vapor lamps are becoming rarer overall and I believe they will find a buyer. Well, wouldn't you rather keep the collection? After all, they are Mercury Vapor lamps.🙂

Stihl incandescent is more reliable
You call me from the heart, friend. When I was younger, we also lived next to a lamp with a Mercury Vapor lamp and I loved how the red and weak light gradually became stronger and whiter, which beautifully illuminated especially the falling snow in winter and also on the ground. The light sparkled beautifully on the snow, and it was the same with the "orange" High Pressure Sodium lamps... Back then, Christmas was more beautiful outside than it is now with LEDs.
Caramba!
Yes, with its oval and matte appearance, it is practically indistinguishable from a real Mercury Vapor lamp, but it is heavier and, like some other LED replacements for HID lamps, causes a visible stroboscopic effect in places. I'm sorry that you don't use these substitutes, but it's the same for us. I have this one at home, but outside in our city, either old lamps are used, in which there are either Metal Halide lamps or High Pressure Sodium lamps, but wherever there is an LED, it is all LED modules that have the shape of a "shovel" ", which is not nice at all and when replacing it, you have to replace the whole lamp... Really "great".
So Nice this lamp! 💡💡💡
Thank you and I agree, these oval types of lamps are very nice.🙂
@Naguals_HID_Lamps yes my favorites!

@@Naguals_HID_Lamps do you use instagram
I enjoy lamps in this format elliptical, many of sodium or metal halide lamps we easily find in tubular format, I like all of then, but in my opinion this format is beautifully
I also like the oval types of discharge lamps more. And especially coated versions.🙂
Lâmpada de Sódio Alta Pressão OSRAM 💡
Exactly. And she is really great. Osram is a guarantee of quality.🙂
@@Naguals_HID_Lamps old made in Germany and Slovakia series was very good, current China production is very average unfortunately
@@AsXSn Although the quality is not the same, Osram is still one of the best companies for me along with Philips. But that's just my opinion, someone else may be more comfortable with other companies. Personally, I still prefer these two... Osram (Ledvance) and Philips.
Osram doesn't have very good bulbs because I saw it on leds, I had a fiament 11w on the balcony and within 7 months it burned out but first it started to flicker and then it lit literally like a candle! as for the HPS lamps I have an osram vialox nav-e but it is obviously an old build and the quality is about average 6/10 I can't give it a higher rating but only the build quality is a bit bad but as a lamp it is very good, I have an osram HQL MBFU 125 mercury lamp and this is old german made, i can say its a bit better build than HPS! Philips, sylvania, GE, osram and hortilux I think have the best and quality bulbs
@@HIDSON-TPIA Fortunately for me, all LED bulbs from the Osram brand work as they should. Both SMD chips and COB chips. But I believe that of course it can happen that the product breaks down very soon, either due to a manufacturing defect or due to poorer quality. I have both HID lamps you listed, but the HQL MBF-U DE-LUXE has 80W. And they all work great but it depends on many factors as well as the ballasts themselves, I use magnetic ballasts from Philips (BHL 80 L202) for Mercury Vapor lamps and they are very good. And yes, even in my eyes these companies are top... Osram (Ledvance), Philips and also Sylvania. And I also have a Mercury Vapor lamp from the Czech company NBB Bohemia, it is also excellent.
Very good!
Thank you very much.🙂
hello. tell me where are You from which country?
Hello, from Slovakia.🙂
I want to see the ballasts you have, can you make a video of it?😊
Yes, of course.🙂I plan to make a video in time where my collection of ballasts, capacitors and lighters will be.🙂
4000 k= cool white?🤨
Light color (designation) - Cool White... This is stated directly in the Product data sheet. But I agree, 4000K is basically neutral white or daylight white. But somewhere it is already mentioned as cool white. For example, even Philips has it this way with their Master Ultra Efficient LEDs.
@@Naguals_HID_Lamps Thank you)
I'd say HPS wins as they are brighter, lower power, and have a good color temperature. But MV lasts longer, I've seen some last over 40 years.
I agree. HPS lamps have more lumens per watt than MV lamps and their color temperature, which is mostly 2000K (I also have one that is only 1900K) is more pleasant to the eyes and also causes less light pollution and thus the night sky is brighter with them and more beautiful. However, they have a low color rendering index ("white sodium" is an exception), but overall it's perfectly fine for lighting roads and outdoor spaces. And yes, there are MV lamps that are 40 or even more years old and still working. I love all HID lamps.🙂
Metal Halide's are DEAD, the ballast, ignitor and capacitor killed them!
these elements are much durabler than LED drivers usually
LED bulbs cannot replace discharge tube bulbs.
I agree with you. Even LED has its advantages, but so does HID... And HID lamps have more advantages in terms of health and nature. No blue light from LED lamps, no artificial light (HID lamps produce light by burning a mixture of gases and that's basically the principle of the sun. The sun also shines by burning gas. It's natural light and HIDs work in a similar way.) HID it has even more advantages, but unfortunately LED is being pushed more and more. Although LED is also good in a certain way, it cannot replace HID lamps.
@@Naguals_HID_Lamps I am using Philips Son-T Pia Plus 50W sodium bulb in my garden. It has been on from 8pm to 6am for 3 months. Actually, I could have used mercury vapor 125W 😁
@@Dshrg70W This makes me happy and I hope that the lamp will serve you as long as possible. I use HID lamps in the living room at home (I'm serious) either 70W or 80W, but I have it set so that it never shines directly on me and the light spreads beautifully throughout the room.
@@Naguals_HID_Lamps I don't have 80w mercury but I have 50w mercury osram
@@Dshrg70W That's great, Osram is an excellent company, one of my favorites. And the other one is Philips. And which Mercury Vapor lamp do you have? Classic HQL? Or HQL DE LUXE (MBF-U), or HQL SUPER DE LUXE (MBF-U)?
Mercury Vapor is my favorite kind of lamp! I enjoy so much the bright, its a neutral white, very confortable to see, and when it start there's some little "explosions" pink and purple inside the bulb, fantastic! ❤
Thank you! I like all HID lamps, but of course I also love Mercury Vapor lamps. And I agree with you, the light is beautiful. Of course, it is also about whether the Mercury Vapor lamp is without a phosphor layer or with it. The presence of phosphor affects the color temperature, but also the color rendering index. And it also depends on how much yttrium vanadate the phosphor contains, because a lower quality phosphor layer causes rather cooler light with a green and blue tone. And when the phosphor is of better quality, the resulting light is, on the contrary, warmer and the color rendering is also better.
@@Naguals_HID_Lamps yeah I totally agree with you! I'm fascinated for all HID lamps, and i think Led won't never has this "magic" like this lamps, they are very nostalgic, I aways remember the era that our life was illuminated by them in the past, this lamps will keep on our memory and i'm sou proud that someone who has this relics, thank you man and keep posting!
@@viniciusscari That's right, LED lamps (either SMD or COB chips) light up practically immediately, so the classic start of HID lamps is missing here, but it can be imitated using a dimmer, which you can use to slowly light it up. But it will NEVER be exactly the same as with HID lamps. And there are other things, such as the fact that the LED emits blue light, which can be reduced as well as light pollution by using a layer of yellow phosphor to achieve a warmer light, but still, for example, many star observatories use High Pressure Sodium lamps, because unlike most LEDs, they cause such negligible light pollution that you can see beautiful stars under them at night. Thanks to LED lamps with, for example, 4000K, we hardly see the stars in cities anymore. And there are even more advantages that HID lamps have. And most importantly, it's natural light... It's light, that is literally created by the burning of a gaseous mixture in the burner, so they basically work on the principle of the Sun. The Sun is also a gas, that burns and thus shines. Natural light... And it also produces UV radiation. But LED is purely artificial light. I also have LED, that's true, but it doesn't beat HID lamps for me. I love HID.
i have a 12V 35w bike xeon lamp, starts same like this, have installed in a ceiling cfl light fixture ready for any time usage,
This makes me happy, I love HID and i wish it to serve you as long and as well as possible.🙂
@@Naguals_HID_Lamps y this & filament incandescent will become rare to find in eye stinging led times.
@@bazrazin1 This is unfortunately true. But we still have a lot of stock and in the worst case, a HID lamp can be created... Not easy, but possible.🙂
It was a well explained video, well done 👍
@@Dshrg70W Thank you very much! 🙂
Good video, looks like a metal halide tube blv
Thank you.🙂
These cheap MH lamps are average, not that bad and not that good, light quality is also very average, not bad for some outdoor spaces like streets or some open areas where light quality isn't that important
Thank you for your comment and I agree. For outdoor use, or for street lighting, it is not so important to have great color rendering, but rather to have good visibility on a specific surface. And this Metal Halide lamp fulfills that. For example, many lower-quality Mercury Vapor lamps without a phosphor layer, or even with a phosphor layer, but of lower quality, in which there is less yttrium vanadate, have either much worse or similar color rendering and a very cold, even greenish light. However, for street lighting they fulfill their purpose. The purpose is sufficient visibility. It's not about looking at colored pictures under the lamp and distinguishing them. 🙂
Very good lamp!
Thank you very much and i agree.🙂I also like this Metal Halide lamp and i am definitely satisfied with it.
My personal thoughts I don't like LED I uploaded a new video to my channel
This practically applies to me as well, i love HID lamps and I don't really like LEDs, but I have several LED HID replacements and even though i much prefer the original HID lamps, these replacements also have something in them and I'll be happy to make videos with them, but I still want to focus mainly on HID, just for me a new Metal Halide lamp arrived and I will definitely make a video about it.🙂
@@Naguals_HID_Lamps I'm waiting for the video 😅
