What I learned is I can make an appointment with any DMV and the one that has the least amount of waiting time of the day I check is the DMV I visit. The one I visit takes an hour max and the people there are very helpful in getting me the info I need. The one I hated was like 30 minutes away and they made me wait 4 hours to get documents and then 2 hours to finalize and pay for it.

If you want them to improve, they actually need more funding and a complete restructuring and update. That requires new workers, retraining of old staff, firing incompetent ones, and a slew of improvements to their whole system from scratch. That all requires extensive funding, campaigning, protests, and etc to make happen. It would NEVER happen with more cuts to their funding and it will be infinitely worse if they remove DMV locations and you have to deal with this x1000 because the whole state has to drive to a single DMV location hours of driving away. Demand the DMV changes, but also vote and demand from your local leadership to fund them more. This is not an issue that goes away with less money.
