The Service Dog Connection

Our service dog organization trains custom service dogs for people needing medical, mobility, autism, and psychiatric service dogs as well as facility therapy dogs. The Service Dog Connection places dogs all across the United States.
The Service Dog Connection 2021 Year in Review
We have had an eventful year, and we couldn’t have accomplished everything we did without the amazing support of our community, 4 staff trainers, and 35 volunteer puppy raisers!
This year 52 new dogs entered our training program, 12 fully trained service dogs were placed, 8 facility therapy dogs were placed, 5 ESA were placed, and 21 career change dogs got adopted into their forever homes as loved pets.

Glacier Taking the ADI Public Access Test

The Assistance Dogs International Public Access Test is the baseline standard for service dog behavior out in public. Jetson’s Seizure Response Service Dog Training

Jetson the standard poodle was trained to bark when his boy is having a seizure to get the attention and help of parents and teachers. Jetson barks until someone praises him or tells him to be quiet. This video goes over the sequence of training he went through to learn that task.
Clifford the Mobility Assistance Service Dog

Clifford graduated our training program back in July 2020 and was placed as a mobility assistance service dog with a young woman in Willoughby, Ohio. Here is a video of his tasks and some of his public access training. The videos were taken back when our company went under the name, "Central Coast Dog Services" but we have since been changed to The Service Dog Connection.
Bailee The Therapy Dog’s First Day of School

Bailee is an English Cream Golden Retriever that we placed as a facility Therapy Dog for Houston High School in Houston, Alaska in February 2021. Bailee lives with Houston’s Principal and goes to school every day brining joy to staff and students. Big thank you to the City of Houston for providing funding for Bailee!
