Why do you have to base them in the first place? Hey, come on a piece of circular plastic that looks to be about the same size as your basis.. if you left them like that, they’re really not that much bigger than your other miniature

Have to say having bought most Frostgrave kits, this is by far the worst. Felt cheap quality. Lots of obvious, mould lines, plastic that you have to trim, and also some of the detail I think he’s just not very good.. Some of the heads from certain angles just look like a blob of plastic, the detail is not very well defined. And it’s disappointing because the concept of the Gnolls I like… I was looking to get some Beastmen, and they were cheaper than the Warhammer beast of chaos Gors. And what I like about frost grave is the variety of options that you’ve got. But I have to say these were disappointing. I still like them. But I have to say they felt like the cheapest set of Frostgrave mini’s I’ve tried yet. Especially when you compare them to the Barbarian set, which I was really impressed with lots of fine detail, quality sculpts

Been dying to get this! But Oathmark and Frostgrave just don’t scale well with AoS… It’s not a deal breaker are a tad small.

I find out of all the alternative brands, I’ve tried, fireforge scale, the best with Warhammer minis. I find Frostgrave and Oathmark are a tad small compared with Free Cities Steelhelms ….

A great and helpful video, please you tell me how the following all combine/ would build mixed units? I'm worried about head size and shape, and same for feet, if I mix up the weapons and shields would they all blend in uniformly, or do some look more cartoony and some more skinny? Thanks buddy

The problem with Winter Wolves is not related to Reaper, it's more of D&D thing. Winter wolf was size Medium (1 inch base) in D&D 4e, but then WoTC changed it to Large (2 inch base) in 5e edition. The winter wolf mini was designed for D&D specifically, thus Reaper changed the size of their newer sculpt (Bones Black) to fit new stats. Winter wolves in D&D are not usual wolves, they are kind of a monstrous variant and in 5e edition they should be even larger than dire wolfs. Reaper also produces more conventional wolves (the size of a wolf in the familiars pack you have, it sells in a pack of 3) and dire wolves (a bit larger than regular wolves, but significantly smaller than the new winter wolf).

I love the Frostgrave boxes.

for some reason once i did this it would never be saved after my first sitting and then it would consistantly crash

I like this box a lot: the Thegns are easy to paint and the shield patterns look amazing, but yes: you have to cut off the lower part of the necks or they'll look like giraffes.

Very cool review, specially the siza comparison. Do you know if the Fireforge models have the same size as the GW Lord of the Rings minis; since this ones are normally a bit smaller (28mm true scale) than other GW systems, like Age of Sigmar or 40K?
