I’m struggling to influence the company I work for to go electric with our fleet of HGV’s. I’ve been heavily invested into electrified transport for over 11 years now. I would love to get involved in this space to help companies with the transition to a more sustainable haulage industry. I have over 16 years experience as a truck driver and I’ve been pushing our company to think of the future in how we could transition from our LNG and CNG fleet into a fully electrified fleet. We have the perfect use case for electrified transport to help encourage other companies make the switch. I’ve been running a large EV community in the North West of England since 2017 and I’m so passionate about the future of a electrified transport system. I fully understand the pros and cons that the industry has to face, from the charging infrastructure that needs to be implemented to the efficiency the drivers could get out of their vehicles with some extensive driver training on driver style. I currently train all our new recruits at the company I work for now. I just need to find a way to be part of this amazing transport system the UK could showcase to the world.

So, why are these not replaced with electric motor regeneration and a battery? Instead of using energy to slow the vehicle, capture the energy with the same level of braking and use it to assist with moving off or cruising.

0 emissions, yeah it float above the road and don't have tires. yes it's a lot less than thermal motors, but it's really far from 0. Plus electricity doesn't come from magic, it need to be producted which isn't necessarily less a problems than petrol. And doesn't seem to take weather temperatures in consideration on the performances of the batteries. I don't see how it's game changer when all it does isn't better, it's just another way with it's pros and cons. Yeah electricity is usually cheaper but we keep increasing the need of it so the price increase and often due to that we turn to coal or gaz production.... Plus how much does those battery weight compared to essence ? because it will impact a lot on how much you can load you know, there is limits... I don't loading at max half what a normal semi can is better....

Brave move? Game changer? Key player? The thing is a joke. Whoever made this video knows zero about trucking. I am a long haul truck driver and this thing would be just about useless. Our AI narrator, AKA idiot, talks about how truckers on established highway" routes" would be okay with charging stations in the near future but those that go off the beaten track might have problems. I hate to tell you this but almost all trucks don't have regular routes in Long haul Trucking. We travelel to big cities and small towns, often one after the other. That and a bunch of other things that are just too long to list make this whole video a piece of crap, as others have said almost as much of a piece of crap as the Tesla semi.

The physics do not support this. Charging times for such a large battery pack would be far too long. Acceleration time to 60 is impressive, but semi trucks are not typically used to drag race. They are used to haul a lot of cargo. Cargo capacity of the Tesla Semi is far smaller than traditional semi trucks due to the massive battery pack. I like EVs, but they are not practical for everything given the current battery technology. Things like large airplanes and large semi trucks do not do well with battery power only.
