In this video I decided to record at Hessle Station just under the Humber Bridge. Northern Rail Trains stop once on the hour on both platforms. You can get trains to York and Hull respectively. This station is good for trains travelling at speed. First Transpennine Express, First Hull Trains and Freight pass through at Speed. Its great if you want to get off and get photos of the bridge. I do a...

Alnmouth For Alnwick Station - ECML
When I was a young boy in the 50s my mother and father took me to Prudhoe station. We stood in the middle of the footbridge as the steam trains passed underneath. I was terrified as I was only five years old, but I was also excited watching those noisy, steam-belching monsters pass underneath. I will never forget it.
It certainly looks a very scenic route. I am actually going to Carlisle tomorrow on this line from Newcastle so I am looking forward to the trip. Let's just hope the weather is good Regards from Whitley Bay
I live in Hartlepool and this brings back a lot of memories. I used to be crazy into trains when I was young. Miss the GC HSTs and the "Purple passenger trains" more commonly known as Class 158s and 150s XD
POV: 2022: Woah new train coming by Xmas! 2025: RIP 507 and 508s :( 😭😭😭😭
I like that 🚆
All change now in 2020. Class 777s are being delivered, though it will be a while before they enter service. You got videod 508110 at Aintree station. It ran its final journey this week (w/e 16th Aug) and is off to Sims scrapyard in Newport on Sunday August 16th.
@@James-si1wr I think the Stadler replacement stock for the Metro is going to be look similar to the 777s on Merseyrail.
This is my favourite station on the ECML
Its changed a hell of a lot since the 1950s when I did my train spotting from where that car park is now 😀
hey, i live here, yeah its great place for high speed action
Fantastic video 👍
That is the train I here every morning
I’m sure I came to that station on that day
Sharkey
I like Merseyrail, it's always nice to see someone else's take on it! You've just got yourself another subscriber!
we wonnt to go on that
we want to go on that
91 and a 43
Another good video 👍
First Hull Trains are Getting a IEP class 802 Apparently And Transpenine Express are getting Aapn IEP
Great vlog 😀 really enjoyed watching it. Chester-le-Street is a great station, I could do with a visit there in the near future.
Nice catch of the class 66 and the class 60 . Great video
Oh, that was a lovely surprise to see one of my travel videos on the background at the start! 😀 A great video there, I really enjoyed it 😊
Nice video! have you made any more train videos to upload ?
Hello the geordie trainspotter I've been a subscriber for ages now and I'm just never had the confidence to say this "I am really inspired by your channel that's what made me start my channel apart from my brother but yeah they're really good channel and I like your videos so keep on going bye"
Just let me say I am also subed to your 100% NUFC channel as well because I'm in Newcastle supporter aswell
Great video! I have subscribed to your channel! I recently went trainspotting at Newcastle Central for the first time which I thoroughly enjoyed. I hope to be back sometime soon.
I live in dunston
r u busy nxt wednesday
Majority of trains tend to bypass Hessle and Ferriby before heading for next station of Brough, which acts like a commuter place for people working in Hull. As u can see the Humber Bridge is not very far away. Best view of the bridge is when u approach Hessle from Doncaster/York/Leeds and have the river right beside u. It is so epic and always reminds me that I am near home.
Me too.
Fantastic Video. Well done.
A thoroughly enjoyable video mate - great job :)
+The Geordie Trainspotter I see, cheers for the recommendation - and you're very welcome I always enjoy watching your uploads :)
I'm wondering where the word 'Paragon' comes from... the panel only says Hull so I've no idea what Paragon is
+The Geordie Trainspotter Ah right - I suppose it also makes sense with Hull being a terminus station.
The Geordie Trainspotter hull used to be on the ECML and the hull- Selby line had 4 tracks If you look at the tracks at Hessle you can see the gap where the 4th track used to be
Excellent video mate - Manors is a good station for slow moving traffic, Morpeth is as well.
+The Geordie Trainspotter I'm lucky to have access to stations in Tyne and Wear with one ticket - (Under 16 ticket on the metro with my pop card) and I also know my way around quite a bit. 😁
Great video - I was over in Carlisle in the West yesterday. Was a good day out :D
+The Geordie Trainspotter No problem, the trip to Carlisle was the first time I saw a Virgin Trains Class 390
Why did I see a ScotRail 156?
Geordie Trainspotter Ah, thanks. I just thought it was quite strange. In my mind a bit far for a 156. A 159 would be better.
Great video - I know how it feels when making videos when it's windy 😁 Stay tuned for Level Crossing videos in Killingworth and Blaydon, uploads coming this evening.
Geordie Trainspotter Thanks very much - and you're welcome 🚂😊
Great video - I really want to visit Newcastle for a trainspotting session. Do you need permission to film there?
Geordie Trainspotter Oh, ok. I'll give it a shot when I get the chance.
I'm considering visiting Felling Metro for an episode of Trains at. There's a spot on the ramp where filming is less obvious, and Northern trains pass through, both directions, every hour. Always a chance for freight, too.
Geordie Trainspotter My next 'trains at' episode perhaps 😀
Do you know if there was a speed restriction in that area? The trains passing through didn't seem to travel as fast as they would normally do.
Great video - nice to have a HST to start with :-) Looking forward to part 3 👍
What do you use to record?
Very nice video - I've recently visited Manors a couple of weeks ago on the 19th. I've also recently been to Cramlington where I got some great fast traffic. I would appreciate your feedback on both videos, if that's ok with you :)
2:27 Love the sound of those "Farting Pacer" trains haha 😂
+Geordie Trainspotter oh dear. All that way on a 142 😬
I have subscribed can you sub back to My Channel.
Fantastic Video. well done.
Fantastic Video James :)
keep it up mate
.
Great video Geordie Trainspotter. I was on the Merseyrail electric from Waterloo to Moorfields last week. The Merseyrail Electrics is slightly different from the London Underground and Tyne and Wear Metro in that it is part of the national rail network. The class 507s and 508s used on the network are former BR trains and were BR blue and grey when they were brand new in the 1978 and 1980, respectively. The class 508s started their first few years on suburban services out of London Waterloo before their current duties in Merseyside.
Great video - Hartlepool is a lovely station. I definitely recommend the station café.
+Geordie Trainspotter You certainly did. Good captures of the Grand Central services, too.
Nice video!
Nice variation, especially the Grand Central making an appearance. The changing light at Darlington also added to the enjoyment of the video.
Thank you James, look forward to your next video.
Nice video about merseyrail train in merseysids as also London Underground
Geordie Trainspotter just subscribed to your amazing channel please subscribe back to mine
Nice video James, although I have travelled on the London Underground also Tyne and Wear Metro it's the first time I have seen Merseyrail in action. Thanks.
