Pantry Preparedness
США
Добавлен 2 янв 2023
If there’s one thing we can be sure of, it’s that we never know what tomorrow might bring. The best way I’ve found to be at peace with the unknown is to have confidence that I’m prepared for it, whatever it may be.
My Goal with Pantry Preparedness is to help you be prepared-starting wherever you are right now
Preparedness isn’t a goal you can achieve overnight. It’s also not something we can completely attain. We’ll never be prepared for every possible situation, but with the right planning, we can be prepared for every likely situation. And with the right foundation of preparedness, you can be ready to face even those unknown situations with confidence.

SOLD! (Please take my useless fiat!)
Is that really my sons eating spinach and artichokes?!?!? Who would have believed that would ever happen? Next Ricky will eat a tomato and then I'll know for sure they're imposters😂
considering how cheap, light, and tiny these are when they're packed up - it's never a bad idea to have a couple in your IFAK or in your car's glove box or somesuch. Could really really be a lifesaver in a pinch, hence EMERGENCY blanket ;). Someone else suggested some of those handwarmers to go along with it, that is also a great idea if you're gonna be using this as a cold-weather survival blanket.
Way too much food.
It takes him over 8 minutes to discuss a poncho.
you fed too much food unless you have 10lbs of worms in there
The only people who bash GB are scammers who push SCAMCOIN.
The only people who bash GB are scammers who push SCAMCOIN.
Yup. I stack GB. So far i have 160 GB and growing.
Nice! I can't wait to get my hands on the Florida series
I have bought and sold GoldBacks. Having seen so many comments, It’s obviously that most old stackers are the dumbest people on earth with borderline learning difficulties. Here are some of the most common comments “why would I pay $5 for a GB and then spend it for $1” “Why don’t you use silver or gold coins, GB can be counterfeited” “Each time I use them I lose the premium , why would I pay to use them?” “But the premium is higher than eagles, why would I stack them?”
I got the 5.11 lightweight backpack $200 I take it everywhere w me
You all at income school got into an over saturated niche and one that fluctuates wildly depending on who's appointment as the president. Democrat in office interest in prepping spikes... Trump goes in it crashes. Ive been online and in the niche since 2008 so I've seen it and seeing it again now.
I guess we're doomed to fail then... I guess we'll see! 😁
How does a person buy in because the federal reserve note is failing
Easy, visit goldback.com/where-to-buy-goldbacks to see if any of their retailers are near you. If not you can buy them online and have them shipped to you. Defythegrid.com has low cost fees and shipping. UPMA.org allows you to digitally exchange your dollar for Goldbacks and they'll keep them vaulted at no cost to you. Then you can withdraw from UPMA in the form of Goldbacks or dollars
Worm death for "composting worms," which are a tropical variety (ties), begins at about 40 F. They slow down & stop working below 60F. Worm farmers who over winter their worms ourdoors, do so in-ground, using a mass of compostable insulation containing some "hot" components like chicken manure, heaped & covered with woodchips or mounds of leaves. You need some space for this as the edges of the in ground area will not be habitable & worm will gravitate towards the center for warmth. I don't think a raised barrel with an exposed horse manure heat source will cut it. At 37F they are dying. Which USDA Zone are you in?

You guess it NY goldbacks will 100% make this mainstream!!!!
I noticed that one unit had more than one filter cartridge in it. That will filter water faster than a unit with a single cartridge filter. If you are in a hurry then you might order a unit that takes two or more cartridges. I top my tank off in the evening so I have a full tank in the morning. Then in the morning i pour a quart in the top before I draw off a quart from the bottom. Water comes out faster from a full tank than it does when the water level starts to get low. Thanks for the video
I dont understand the two separate containers at the back, one labeled waste water and the other tap water. Then the max means they're both filled at the same time mixing the water in both container. So what's the purpose of that? Am I drinking the waste water?
Lukotape is what you want if you want something to handle blisters as well. It can play the role of moleskin while being closer to athletic tape. Super strong adhesive, while having a little flex and a lot of abrasion resistance. 2ndSkin is also a lifesaver in the backcountry. Blisters, burns, cuts, etc. It keeps the area clean and moist to help speed up the healing process.
You should blend your worm food and freeze it. You can put a measured amount in freezer bags to feed them with.
Thats a great idea
Nice thing about the goldback is the small denomination. Sure high premium but so is my time. The usd is worth-less than ever. Own some goldbacks well worth it.
Absolutely. And with dealers like Alpine Gold offering a 0% buy/sell spread it's fairly easy to avoid any premium
Can you groceries or pay for stuff at home depot with goldbacks?
@@sgomez8194 No most the businesses are small businesses and franchises but this will change over time. Right now I have several hardware stores near me that except then.
You can use them as currency. But only in the handful of states that recognize them. Which is the states that they make goldbacks for i.e. Utah, wyoming, and a few others. I say too though I. Washington state where I live I would accept payment for contracting services in goldbacks 100%.
Home Depot, no (just like Lowe’s) as it is nationwide and Goldbacks aren’t. However, in places where they are found, Ace Hardware accepts them.
This other video discusses that many business are starting to accept gold payments: "'Florida Is Getting New Gold Currency': State Leading in U.S., Uses New Technology | Jeremy Cordon".
@, there is also a company called GLINT, which Andy is a part owner in, where you can buy gold and use it daily. Stacking Surfer has a video interview with Schectman and the founder of the company.
hahahahah holy shit, pay 5 times over for the weight of gold you get. Thats the way to wealth, guys run!!!!
😂 Understand why premiums are calculated. Get educated. Then comment
5x? I can understand someone claiming 2x but 5x is absurd. And with companies like Alpine Gold offering a 0% buy/sell spread you wouldn't be losing anything during your exchange. Its only a 2x premium if you melt your money... which I wouldn't recommend. What makes it so valuable is that its fractionalized, carries value IN the currency, and they are nearly impossible to counterfeit
PRETTY.....but far too expensive. I will have gold bars and coins (not art). If I need to fractionalize and make smaller purchases...that's silver, my friend.
You miss the point, the whole point is to be conveniant, you can't spend silver coins just any way, yes they hold their value well but you have to sell them to a coin store normally before you can spend them
@@Tesseract1887 essentially and in all practicality the same can be said with gold backs. Logic: A past gf was Venezuelan and told me when their currency went to dog poop the USD was king. HOWEVER.... cambios (which were everywhere) would 100% take gold and silver as hard currency and change it to Bolivars, USD, Euro, or neighbouring currency. During a financial crisis the exchange businesses and small cambios could cheaply, effectively, and accurately determine purity and authenticity of silver or gold without XRFs and expensive gravity scales. They made their own gravity scales which can be pretty accurate and they would use multiple other tests to assess the silver and gold. As an aside.... the whole narrative about adding value to AGE ect due recognizability is nonsense in a SHTF scenario. I'd say Venezuela is pretty SHTF like (but I guess it could be worse). In Caracas, the cambios would not pay anything extra because of the stamp on the PM regardless if it had an eagle, a maple, or an antelope. Once they authenticated the PM, it was valued at a standard flat silver or gold rate regardless if it was a pure silver ring or an ASE. Why do I say this? If you are stacking silver to help you in a Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Lebanon hyper-inflation, or even a Mad Max situation, then have cheap silver (bars and rounds) where you get as many ounces or fractions for your dollar. If you are stacking in a foreseeable stable society, then have your recognizable sovereign coins. Personally, I have a variety because I do not know what the future holds. However, other than being a collectible, I don't see gold backs as good value.
@@Tesseract1887 silver will do the job equally to gold backs. Gold and silver bullion has been seen in the cambios of Venezuela as an option to the USD after the Bolivar collapse. During economic trauma, certainty is more important than convenience. I can buy more silver junk, rounds, or sovereigns than gold backs for more dollars. In a SHTF scenario, that is what we need....not art
@good2goskee yeah well still missing the point goldbacks aren't meant for nor am I referring to a shtf scenario, goldbacks aren't made for stackers they can be used that way but its not the point
I like your argument. But I respectfully disagree. In the long run GBs will be more accepted in the future IMO. But who know maybe u will be right in 10 years. I’m hedging with both
I love gold... but I dont think I will ever buy a goldback unless they become vastly more popular. Just IMO. Happy Stackin eh!
Thanks for the kind words! I'm crossing my fingers they continue to increase in popularity but they've gone from $300k in circulation to $3.4M in just 5 years so I'm thinking things are trending the right way.
@@pantrypreparedness They sure are
Does anyone know of a business or person that accepts goldbacks in Texas or Oklahoma?
50 likes on my comment and I’ll record myself eating 100 dollars wort of goldbacks on camera.
what about condensation and sweat inside making you get wet. I imagine these things could cause a tough morning if it's still cold and now you're also damp.
Multiple Hundreds of percent of premiums are not the future. It’s a novelty item for now.
Good thing the premiums on them are less than 100%. Also, the thing about currency is that it changes hands a lot, and the more hands it changes, the more the premium gets drowned out.
@caryphillips4885 seriously people are missing the point it is tied to gold but you arent buying it to stack its not the point right now it is spendable but if enough businesses adopt it, it could be quite conveniant and not at all expensive it has to be put into circulation if every business takes it and jsut converts all of it into the usd by selling it to coin shop or something it won't make sense but even then the premiun would decrease, what would help make it more conveniant is if more franchises accepted it and small businesses so it can be recirculated
Really? The USD has a premium of ♾️, yet people have no problem trading that premium
@@BlueBirds-fs1id They only trade the dollar until everyone finds out 99% of the dollar has been devalued, at that point, the goldback may make sense. I would have some in my SHF bag next to the toilet paper, water, cigarettes and alcohol. They will all hold some value.
@@shaun1258 I agree
good video. Love the beauty and amazing designs. The drawback is the insane and unjustified premiums on these goldbacks. It's way too much. It's price gouging at it's best for ultra fractional gold "notes".
@@JohnnyStacker Production costs are high, and labor is expensive. Thus, they lose money on half-goldbacks. Goldbacks have outperformed gold bullion over the last four years!
Premiums are calculated because you lose the premium when selling at melt. GB’s never lose the premium because they never trade at melt. Learn why premiums are calculated, then you will know when they apply
A goldback is 100% more premium than a 1oz gold eagle that's what it is
The USD has a ♾️ premium over 1oz Eagles. You can spend GB’s. Gold Eagles are only for stacking and the premium is lost. “Thats what it is”
@BlueBirds-fs1id you can lose 50% of your purchasing power compared to getting bullion. The exchange is the same in any transaction. "Whats gold spot price, how much gold is in what you want to exchange to me for goods or services". I'd never accept someone trying to pay me with gold saying "actually this gold is worth 100% more than bullion because a private company says so". Get coins instead
@@BlueBirds-fs1id exactly
@ It must be hard for you to accept you’re wrong. Junk silver was minted with half the silver value to Face, yet was spent at face, and was accepted by everyone. Strike 1 Goldbacks are accepted everyday at exchange by thousands of businesses and will only increase. Strike 2 Every metal backed currency in history was minted at “high premiums” to discourage melting it. The facts are not your friends. Sorry buddy 👋
@@BlueBirds-fs1id NICE 👍 😁

Goldback are awesome!
Yes!

Thank you! More to come soon
Buddy, couple things. That is way too much food for 1k worms. Also adding that much to a new bin is not good. It is going to go anaerobic and smell. You want about 20k worms in that size with that much food. Also you are layering like compost. If you arent careful you will cook your worms. Side note. The liquid that comes out is not worm tea. I would not use it on the plants.
the liquid in your bin is called leachate not worm tea .leachate is non broken down food waist basically sewage so please be careful using it in your food garden
You're not supposed to leave the bands on even with the disposable anyways. Reason being is because if for whatever reason the seal comes unsealed, bacteria can get in there and with the band on the jar it can reseal the lid after bacteria gets in. And you wouldn't know until you open it to eat.
This is such a great idea! Thank you for sharing!
how long does it take to make a gallon of water.
I bought two big Berkey black filters and they were both covered with mold within a couple of days. I made several attempts to contact Berkey by phone, live chat on their website and email. They would not respond to my messages or return my calls. Berkey is not a reputable company and I'm not the only one that has had this terrible experience with moldy Berkey filters and with the Berkey company. I switched to Alexapur from "my patriot supply", great filters with excellent customer service. Please do yourself a favor and buy filters from a reputable company and stay away from Berkey.
Absolutely great review. Thank you. I was wandering whether you had a chance to ever use Aqua Rain? I have been using Aqua Rain since 2010. Absolutely love it. However, recently my lower chamber’s rim started to give a crack. So, I bought Alexapure. It’s the same concept. Different filters, black. I still have extra ceramic tan color filters. Have not tried to use them in AlexaPure. Use the one it came with and bought 2 additional ones. But do you know how the ceramic ones compare to the black ones? I had no problems with them for 15 years. Just cleaned them regularly. Sometimes boiled them. Replaced them a few times. Many thanks in advance for your reply.

Just a small tip: If the battery is at a very low voltage, keep the jump starter connected for a few minutes to raise the voltage on the 12V battery prior to starting.
If the battery is too low, these jumpstarters will not send power. It's a safety feature so that if you accidentally touch the leads together, they will not arc out. It requires a certain amount of voltage from the car battery to give the jump starter a signal to then start sending power. The VTOMAN has the "Boost" button that allows you to bypass the safety and send power no matter what. It's handy in cases like this where the car battery is so depleted.
Rule #6 may be "Use your preps" but rule #1 seems to be "get your parents to buy your homestead land for you."
